    2. I don't think taking the position we are 'immune' to outside influence and do a lot for the community anyway is helpfull for us.

     

    while distancing ourselves might seem like the logical action if it comes back to bite us it might hurt a lot more. I've seen young brothers with no intention to taking their lives let alone those of others preach shit before and doubtless i will again. But we have to acknowledge that we have problems before we can start declaring decrees to halt them.

     

    while phrases such as:

    SCG is willing to work with the government and the police with a view to eradicate those individuals who are ready to blow up themselves,
    .

    just show up the authors as ill equipped to fully analyse and understand the situation in their communities and thus unable to provide an authoritative opinion that can be taken seriously.

    Jamal11, i agree with your sentiment, a prof came and had a chat with me this afternoon, the conversation went like this:

     

    him: hi, i just came to say good bye if i dont see you again

     

    me: urgh

     

    him: yeah i saw that you that couple of somali's are being hunted and you know how things go .. one somali or another, a bloke running from scruffy gun men/a terrorist, its difficult to accurately judge these things in the heat of the moment
