biixi , i found that when we tried to help our community and volunteered in offering after school tutoring , that the somali proverb " khayr ha suubin ,shar kuu ma imaato" rings true. sorry i dont mean to be negative , but after being accused of getting money on the attendance of their children, i have reasons to be.i would advice those who are sincere and those who ask for it.

fartun sis, dont take it to heart, its just that some somalis are not very excepting of any-one different to them.and you know how women without any sense of purpose are, other then to make silly remarks about anything that moves. lol i just laugh everytime, i hear somalis saying when they see my white friends come to my house " alla waa naag gaallo !!" some how white=non-muslim. at least they dont assume you are gaalo;)

i wanted to go this year , but my brothers are not willing to be my muxram ,they think they are too young. im wondering is there such thing as 'rent a muxram' ?
