  12. South African Ambassador To Eritrea Is An Old Somaliland Friend Written by Qaran news Oct 04, 2012 at 01:30 PM Asmara(Qarannews):- Professor Iqbal Jhazbhay, a stalwart friend of Somaliland is currently getting used to his new surroundings in Asmara, Eritrea. No, Professor Jhazbay is not in Eritrea on a short-term academic visit, in fact, the Professor is the new South African ambassador to Eritrea. Professor Jhazbhay took up his new posting in May 2012, but word of his elevation to an ambassadorship has just reached his friends in Somaliland. For almost a decade or more, Professor Jhazbhay was Somaliland's ally in Southern Africa. More than that, the good Professor played a significant role in close ties between Somaliland and South Africa. There are countless Somaliland students who are indebted to the Professor for helping them with their studies and access to South African universities. A large Somali community, from both from Somaliland and Somalia, sought and received the guidance of the Professor in their new home, and will always recall Dr. Jhazbhay unstinting support and generosity. But, above all, it is Professor Jhazbhay diplomatic efforts on behalf of Somaliland that will always endear him to Somalilanders. We say, good luck with your posting, and we look forward to the day that you are appointed as the first South African ambassador to Somaliland. http://www.dfa.gov.za/foreign/bilateral/eritrea.html
  13. The people of those regions have every right to form their own federal state but it should be done under the constitutional framework of Somalia and i dont think the President has anything against that. But the President is the symbol of Somalia's unity and the Head of state he is than also responsible for those regions. And he doesn't want to see Kenya's interference in the state building of those regions which is also understandable.
  14. He knows his prime minister he is just taking his time.
  15. Whats so funny Boys i see the Punt boys smiling let me guess he is from Puntland:D
  16. Who is he what is his background Salahudin.
  17. Mintid i am well aware of the close relations of Israeli and Kenya and i also agree the Kenyans were well assisted by the Israeli military adivers. I think they played a major role in the last operation in Kismayo and orchestrated much of the air strikes. But what is Irans involvement with Alshabaab where is the link. But the Islamic republic of iran has close relations with the government in asmara and that they deployed balistic missiles to Eritreas port city of Assab ,the Eritrean government how ever denies this. Today i was reading an article how the Kenyan government urged its professionals to invest in Somalia its indeed all about the money.

You can't be in control of an enitre city and then lose it in a couple of days without anyone knowing (or talking about) where you went to. Where did Al Shabab go, saaxib? Alshabaab vacated the city latest news they are now planning targeting the Kenyan troops in a guerrilla warfare. They headed north of the lower juba thats the latest on Shabaab.
  19. It says the raskambooni faction consists mostly of Somalis from the O'gaden region i thought the Raskambooni Faction was funded and trained by Kenya so they would be Somalis from Kenya wouldn't they?
  20. Its time demilitarize the raskambooni faction perhaps incorporate them into the Somali Security forces this is a severe problem, when you are dealing with factions the same should be done with the aswj factions roaming in gedo.
  21. ^^ Bal ino yara faahi faahi i think he made a good choice first he visited major cities in Somalia baydhabo beledweyne he showed that he is a peoples man. He than send the outgoing prime minister to the UN general Assembly while he was busy with domestic issues of the country. He than took his time appointing a prime minister and he is going to visit a country uganda i dont think that is a bad choice i think he set his priorities in the right order.
