Waxani wa gacalcun we might even place him give him a nice farm in gabiley. And he can be a commander of the western front of Somaliland.  Somaliland shall prevail no matter what the cost . Somaliland is already recognized  defacto and semi since we deal with allot of nations in the world the last  UAE deal should give you a clear hint where this is going. Salaxow if you are a Somalilander which I doubt. Since oday Oodweyne has a clear doubt about your ancestry  either way  treenku yanu kategin adeer. Tani 1991 bay dhaqaaqday.

  2. She  was also the former Ethiopian ambassador to Jabuuti in the 1990s it seems  Axmed abiye is reaching out to his Abyssinian cousins particularly the  amxaras. His deputy is already amxara now the president is also one. But he also is very woman friendly he is playing to the west that woman get an equal part in Ethiopia. Not sure what qeero reaction is to this and maxammad jawar the galla nationalist from caruusa. I think lemme meqershe is on board with these policies of Axmed abiye since they are wollegey gallas in the western part of Ethiopia. Now lets wait what 2019 brings.

Ethiopia lawmakers to appoint new president: state media

    Thursday October 25, 2018

Ethiopian President Mulatu Teshome stepped down though no official reason has been given for his resignation

Ethiopian lawmakers on Thursday will meet to appoint a new president, a largely ceremonial post in the Horn of Africa nation, the state-affiliated Fana Broadcasting Corporate reported.

A session involving both houses of parliament is expected to hear and formally accept the resignation of current President Mulatu Teshome who has served in the post for the last five years.

No reason has been given for his expected resignation but observers speculate it was the outcome of continued negotiations between the four parties in the ruling coalition, the Ethiopian People Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF).

In April the EPRDF appointed Abiy Ahmed the first prime minister from the Oromo ethnic group, the country's largest, who has led a programme of reforms, making peace with former enemy Eritrea and reconciling with various opposition groups.

Abiy recently appointed a new cabinet, with half of all posts going to women.

Mulatu is the third president of Ethiopia since it formally adopted multiparty politics and a new constitution in 1995. The two former presidents were Negasso Gidada who served from 1995 to 2001 and Girma Wolde-Giorgis who served from 2001 to 2013.

Under the Ethiopian constitution the president is given a maximum of a two terms of six years each. Mulatu had one more year left in his first term.

Ethiopia follows a parliamentary system that places the majority of powers in the hands of the legislature and prime minister, with the presidency a largely symbolic post.

Abiy's reforms included ending two decades of conflict with neighbouring Eritrea, releasing jailed dissidents, welcoming formerly banned groups back into the country and announcing plans to privatise major state-owned industries.

He took office after anti-government protests began in late 2015 by Ethiopia's two largest ethnic groups against the heavy-handed rule of the EPRDF.

ONLF has absolutely no leverage  to do anything their biggest supporter the Christian xamasien dictator of asmara is at peace with Ethiopia. Today Ethiopia is led by the Abyssinian gallaa welegege lemme meqershe and  abiye axmed who Is a semi Abyssinian and the deputy is the amxara man.

  7. Galbeedi you can't compare Somaliland to failed state Somalia. In Somaliland we have one man one vote. The rule of law a constitution. Somalia  they don't have that they have the rule of the jungle. President mujahid abdiraxman tuur vice President mujahid xassan ciise jamac you forgot. Who inherited a destroyed nation. In Somaliland the rayaale presidency after him  the people decided. Since 2001 we adopted a new constitution. We had 2 civilian presidents ina cigaal ina rayaale. And 3 SNM presidents mujahid tuur mujahid biixi mujahid siilaanyo.

The United Kingdom has officially addressed reports that it had at a point supported Ethiopia’s notorious paramilitary unit, the Liyu Police.

The head of the British Department for International Development, DFID, Christian Rogg met with Somali Regional State, SRS, leader Mustafa Omer earlier this week.

The meeting according to the British Embassy in Addis Ababa centered around security reforms whiles Rogg took the opportunity to dispel resurfaced reports that the DFID had back in 2013 funded Liyu police.

Omer in August took over as head of the SRS after former head was arrested over rights issues. He has promised to uphold rights and freedoms in the region that has suffered highhanded leadership since 2010.

The UK Guardian in January 2013 reported that an internal DFID document had entered a tender to train security forces in the Somali region of Ethiopia, as part of a five-year £13m–15m “peace-building” programme.

The statement read as follows: “The British Embassy is aware of some reports circulating on social media referencing reporting from five years ago which speculated on sources of funding for the Somali Regional Special police, commonly known as the Liyu police.

“Press reporting in 2013 focused on DFID’s Peace and Development programme. The programme intended to support development and reduce conflict in Somali Regional State.

“It helped thousands of children attend primary school and increased access to health services and clean water. It provided legal aid and specialist legal support, particularly for women and children.

“Planned support to improve security in the region was not implemented. The UK government has not funded the Liyu police. The Peace and Development Programme ended in 2017.”
    Who are the Liyu police?

Ethiopian authorities created the Liyu (“special” in Amharic) police for the Somali region in 2007, when an armed conflict between the insurgent Ogaden National Liberation Front (ONLF) and the government escalated.

By 2008, the Liyu police had become a prominent counterinsurgency force recruited and led by then-regional security chief Abdi Mohammed Omar, known as “Abdi Illey.”

Abdi Illey became the president of Somali Regional State in 2010, and the Liyu police continued to report to him till his arrest in August. He is currently facing a legal process instituted by federal government.

The Liyu police have frequently been implicated in extrajudicial killings, torture, rape, and violence against people in the Somali region, as well as in retaliatory attacks against local communities.

There has also been growing evidence of attacks by the group against communities outside of the Somali region, including in the Oromia region since late December 2016, and in Somalia.

  11. Every one in  hargeysa knows  that this fellow who goes by the name of soltecto  I a thief he is very  corrupt so was the guy before him let's hope we get a mayor like ina xashi to be the mayor of hargeysa. Some one with allot of city planning skills who loves the city. Let's wait next elections. We need to change the guuri two selebaan gaal is there 2 long.

  12. Precisely  it's a contract  for our people  to our people that the struggle  we started in 1961 mujahid  xassan kayd walanwal  1961  to the other mujahid maxammad ali  1979 afaraad. It's a continuation of a struggle  we can even go as as far 1884 to 1888 berbera when the mad mullah came to Somaliland and went to sultan diiriye with his saalixya order and said I saw Englishmen in berbera and  sultan  diiriye replayed so what there were Greeks there before and Turks. I am also honered  that president Muuse biixi abdi  called for that the people of Somaliland  should  honer our important days such as  27 may  6 April  17 oktober 31 may  26 june 18 may. These are all important days to the history of our nation. And it makes me happy  that we have a leader that reflects our very own struggle  we started in 1979 SNM and ended with Somalilands independence or re  independence of our lost statehood sovereignty when we forged a union  with the koonfurans. Long live the holy republic of Somaliland and may Allah rest the soul of our  fallen soldiers.
