  1. No I didn't! I thought that was back in the day, during our parents' time but I've also never been there so I wouldn't know Do women go? And how do they dress?
  2. There are clubs in Mogadishu right now?

I thought that when I went there the first time, definitely more Somalis than Toronto. And just wait until you go to Minnesota
  4. Cool! Maybe I will see you in Toronto then, and Wadani can tag along too if he's also home for the holidays I know I'm biased because it's my hometown, but I think Toronto is the greatest city in the world
  5. I'd be glad to, if I'm in town I usually go to my parents' in Toronto over the holidays, and I was thinking about going to London but I haven't decided yet. Where in the US are you planning to go?
  6. Boston isn't that great either and the subway closes way too early... but I'm sure it's still better than Sweden (or Minnesota for that matter) The best club near me is a Chinese restaurant that turns into one at night lol, it's much better than it sounds. Go to New York instead oba ama Montreal, now that's a city.
  7. lol Sweden doesn't exactly strike me as a place with good nightlife
  8. Not bad oba, aside from breaking my cellphone I'm just working on a paper due at the end of the week, and planning the rest of my Ethiopia trip next month. How goes your weekend?
  9. You don't need Alpha to enjoy Hargeisa anyway

SomaliPhilosopher;946062 wrote: Xamar Ah, it's not the best website for Somalia But you can find the cheapest roundtrip flights to Dubai there (I paid $1100 last summer) and then get a flight from there to Mogadishu from Jubba Airways (it stops in Djibouti first, should be around $200-250 one way). That trip is a pain in the *** though, I've vowed to never go that route again... Ethiopian Airlines direct flight to Addis Ababa from now on, and they have flights from Addis to Berbera
  11. SomaliPhilosopher;946059 wrote: Safferz these tickets are expensive. 1200 for a one way. Oh well Where are you trying to go?
  12. SomaliPhilosopher;946051 wrote: Not exactly... im afraid my original suspicions were true dee. I thought i'd try be a modern farax and have our little nikah over the phone. buy a phone card instead of buying myself a flight, you know? what a waste of a calling card, i should those bloody fools. calls from dhusamareb are not the clearest quality, you see? that "yes" i thought i heard... boy.. lets just say static and a dhusamareb accent is not the best combo How convenient

  16. Hej oba Alpha Blondy;946035 wrote: LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL@tropics kulaha.... that's home to some people, you know. lol tropics is not an insult, but an accurate description of where Hargeisa is Insects are terrifying to me, but the warmer the climate, the more of them there are (and bigger too)
  17. You're confusing me with SomaliPhilosopher's wife, I am not from Dhusamareb I think the occasional cockroach and other insects are inevitable when you're in the tropics, cleanliness has very little to do with it. Thankfully I've only ever seen the giant ones outside.
  18. lol naga aamus Alpha, there is no way I'm going to be bila smartphone for very long. If I don't get it repaired this month, I'll get the S4 when I'm back in the States in late August. Anyway this video cheered me up lol: " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>
  19. I went to Verizon to get my S3 checked out, and because it's an LCD problem they're saying it's going to cost like $400 to fix I'm an ***** for not getting insurance when I bought the phone last summer... I'm going to look into outside repair shops for their pricing, but if it's that expensive I may as well just get a new phone. :(

Seeing the spray bottle triggered my PTSD from roach related encounters in Hargeisa And then there was the time I found a lizard and its babies under my pillow...
  22. Is that cockroach spray in the centre Alpha?
  23. Commitment ruins all the fun SP. And when did you leave my gang?
