  1. Ahlul sunnah wal jama'ah cling and hold firmly on to the narrations. we depend on the understanding and explanations of the salafus saalih, since they understood the religion the best. in this entire thread i did not come across anyone backing themselves up with "the messenger said; sahaabee said; tabi'ee said; imaam so and so said; 'i said" and "i think" and "my answer" and "i came to the conclusion that..." and "in my view" is not justice when searching for the truth. and its not justice that you run with everything an individual on SOL posts from their ownselves. [this wouldnt even be allowed on an english research paper on the most insignificant thing, so how much more cautious are we to speak about Allaah's deen? give Allaah's deen what it deserves] if you happen to post an ayah or hadeeth then it must be supported with explanation from a SCHOLAR. our knowledge is very limited so let us fear Allaah lest we speak about Him, subhaanahu wa ta'alla, without knowledge. here is a good place to start: www.tafsir.com, if u have access to other reliable sources then use them inshallah. and i thought this discussion was about Allaah's names and attributes. please lets post some of the statements of the salaf to show how they understood the attributes of Allaah. Ahlul sunnah are comforted by the authentic narrations. (NOTE: i dont use the term ahlul sunnah to deceive anyone, this term is interchangable with salafiyyah, and we've been trying to explain that but many are not trying to hear it. nevertheless this is what i'm upon, the sunnah/salafiyyah/ahlul sunnah/ahlul hadeeth/ahlul athar, these are descriptions not titles we're running around with that posses no meaning. - i dont want to start with this, i'm just clarifying myself)
  2. assalaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah i'm terribly sorry, i know i said i would end with the posts but ukhtie sakina asked a very important question and i did not want to leave her confused. the issue with Allaah's name and attributes is a very important one. Allaah says "there is nothing like unto Him, and He is The All Hearer, The All Seer. (42:11) PLEASE visit this link to read the articles on Allaah's name and attributes. http://www.troid.org/articles/aqeedah/tawheed/asmaawassifaat/ also ukhtie i do encourage you to read up on the biography of Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab, since a lot of confusion as been risen regarding him. I do believe it will benefit you since you don't know as much as you would like to know about him. it is important to read up the biographies of the scholars of islam. this will build trust, otherwise how will you study a book when you doubt the author (general statement-i dont intend that sakina doesnt trust ibn abdul wahaab) also the biography of imaam Ahmed ibn Hanbal. this one brings tears to the eyes, particularly the trial he faced, and How he stayed firm. (try searching www.calgaryislam.com for this bio) also the biography of ibn taymiyah, and of course the saahabaa and the tabi'een. for an audio on Muhammad ibn Abdul Wahhab click here http://www.troid.org/audio/seerah/thosewhofollowedthem/ibnabdulwahaab.htm i understand what the brother aristroe is saying in regards to discussing more important things. and this is correct, our creed is the most important thing. that we actualise the shahaadah and have knowledge of tawheed and sunnah, and the correct aqeedah. this is why i posted this reply to sakina, because knowing the names and attributes of Allaah and believing in them and how they are supposed to be believed in is from tawheed. and i wish for her, as well as all the muslims exactly what i wish for myself. that Allah increase us in understanding of His deen. the prophet sallaahu 'alayhi was salaam said: none of you (truly) believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself" and narrated mu'aawiyah that the prophet said: "if Allaah wishes good for someone He gives him fiqh (understanding) of the religion." so may Allaah increase us in understanding. ameen sakina perhaps we can exchange emails or something inshallah.
  3. mashallah. when i first read it it made me feel very proud of the hijab. people do not realise that it is a protection for our modesty, diginity, chasity and honour. i wanted to mention not to take this article as a proof or argument for or against niqaab (face covering). the scholars past and present (over 1400 years) have differed over the issue regarding whether it is obligatory or recommended, and each side have their proofs which they base their opinion on. to understand the issue of niqab better, its best to look into the works and research of each side, and discover how they extract the ruling from the proofs. then you decide which argument is stronger, according to the proofs stated. as for this article, its not a research paper on niqab and the ruling of hijab. however, it was a reminder for the believing women that Islam really perserves and protects her. barakaallahu feeki (may Allaah bless you)
  4. taken from http://www.troid.org/articles/sisters/hijaab/reality.htm Amidst the hustle and bustle of a teeming metropolis, a solitary figure traverses. She moves steadily in her black garment which shields her against the tyranny of this life. Whilst others around her rush frantically, she move with tranquillity and ease. The peace which she achieves beneath this veil of hers, is immense. It is a liberation beyond measure. Is this a princess of royal blood? No. Is she a head of state? No. So who is this woman of serenity? This is a woman of Hijaab. A woman amongst many women. A Muslim Woman. The site of a woman covering from top to bottom, is not so rare anymore in the major cities of the West. For many Westerners it represents the oppression which Islam imposes upon women. For Muslims however, it is the realisation that Islam will eventually reach every corner of this planet. This is not surprising, considering that Islam is the fastest growing religion on Earth. What is surprising, for Westerners, is that 7 out of 10 (70%) people who become Muslim are Women! It is these same women who then go on to willingly observe the Hijab without coercion or force. The women of Hijaab in the cities of London, Paris, New York etc, are not all immigrants who have just stepped off the boat, as many people think. Rather, many of them tend to be women of high intellect and education. Women who have experienced the bitterness of western oppression. Women of diverse nationalities and races, who are brought together as one, under the banner of Islam. An Islaamic Duty Ever since the appearance of Hijaab in the west, there has been a constant crusade against this noble act. The hypocrisy[1] of the Western media has been evident for many years now, through its constant attacks on Islam and Hijaab. Despite these attempts, women in Hijaab are still on the increase. Thus, a new crusade had to be launched by the advocates of "liberation" and "freedom". For a while now, many Western critics have insisted that the Hijaab has nothing to do with Islaam. They claim that it is a cultural practice and not a religious one. This has been broadcast in the Western media with the aid of its puppets, the modernist Muslims. People such as Dr Zaki Badawi[2], have pushed this erroneous view for a number of years now. This has led to much confusion amongst ignorant Muslims, and many Muslim women are being led into depriving themselves of this great benefit. So what is the reality behind this issue? Is the Hijaab obligatory? Hijab is an Arabic word which literally means a cover, a screen or a partition. Islamically it refers to the dress code of the Muslim woman. In answering the above question, as Muslims we unashamedly say, Yes!, the Hijaab IS OBLIGATORY!! The proofs for this obligation are many, but due to lack of space we will only quote two here. In the Qur’an Allaah says: "And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their modesty, and not to display their adornment except that which appears ordinarily thereof, and to draw their veils over their necks and bosoms.." (Sura An-Noor 24:31) About the words "..except that which appears ordinarily thereof..", then the scholars of Islam have explained that these words refer to the hands and face of a woman. This is supported by the hadith of the Prophet (saws) : "Aisha reported that Asmaa, the daughter of Abu Bakr, entered into the presence of the Messenger of Allaah wearing thin transparent clothing, So the Messenger of Allaah turned away from her saying : ‘O’ Asmaa, when a women reaches the age of menstruation, it is not allowed that any of her should be seen except this’ – and he pointed to his face and two hands."[3] The Hijaab is therefore something which MUST cover the entire body of a woman, except her face and hands.[4] It is NOT a simple headscarf which many women wear, because a piece of cloth on the head does not conceal the parts of a woman’s body, which when exposed, are the result of much strife. Besides covering the entire body, the Hijaab also has other conditions, such as not being tight, transparent, too colourful or resembling the clothes of a man. These conditions are also proven from Islaam.[5] The Benefits of Hijaab -Obedience- Whilst other women are subjected to the pressures and slavery of modern society, the Muslim woman is truly free from this. In the west, women are expected to conform to the liberal fashions which appear daily. These fashions and expectations are often shaped by men. In this way, women become the slaves of society and man. Hijab is the liberator of this slavery. It takes women away from the obedience of man, to the obedience of the Most Perfect, Allaah. This obedience will only bring about good, because we believe that Allaah is the Most Kind and the Most Just. Slavery to the one with such characteristics, is a slavery of reward and contentment. It is not a slavery from which your fellow human (the woman) is exploited and oppressed, just because your desires and lusts run wild. As a command of Allaah, the Hijaab has united the hearts of so many. Hijaab knows no colour, nationality, race, height or weight. Through obedience to Allaah, it truly unites the women of the world. Thus, this unification has surpassed the ranks and shallowness of all female liberation movements. Christian nuns, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs, feminists, lesbians, women boxers and even female gang members, are all known to have become united under Islam and its Hijaab. It is truly a force to be reckoned with. It must be remembered that this obedience to Allaah is a voluntary act from most Muslim women. Many assume that those brought up as Muslims, have always been wearing Hijaab. However, this is not so. Many Muslim women (especially in the UK), who are Muslim by name, often know very little of Islam. When they discover its true meaning, most of them willingly adopt the Hijaab simply to obey their Creator, and not because of any external pressures. Wearing the Hijaab is no futile action. A woman may go through much trial and tribulation[6] because she has obeyed Allaah. But the fulfilment of this action will never go unnoticed, as Allaah say : "Never will I allow to be lost the actions of any of you; whether male or female" (Surah Al-Imran 3:195). The result of these obedient actions will be an everlasting reward. A reward which all Muslim women aspire for. A reward called paradise : "And whosoever does righteous actions- whether male or female, and is a believer, will enter paradise" (Sura An-Nisa 4:124). -A Shield- Allaah says : "O’ Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their veils over their bodies. That is most convenient that they should be recognised and not be molested" (Sura Al-Ahzab 33:59) One of the greatest benefits of Hijaab, is the natural protection it gives to a woman. By wearing Hijaab, a woman shields herself from the rampant desires of man. By his very nature, man is a creature of intense desire. The Hijaab controls this desire and thus not only protects the woman, but also the man. Sexually motivated crimes in the west are on the increase. Rape, molestation and harassment are reaching epidemic levels. Undoubtedly the clothing of a woman has something to do with this. When women walk around with literally nothing on, some men see it as a signal to do as they please. This results in the honour of a woman being scarred for life. The Muslim woman does not have this problem. She knows that when she walks on the streets, the men will not look at her. Why? Because there is nothing for them to look at!! She feels like a princess who is shielded from the savages of her domain. Peace and security is felt beneath the veil. The woman of Hijaab does not have to reveal her body in order to gain respect. She does not have to have her ‘bits’ hanging out so that men can drool over her. If a man desires her, then it has to be for her religion and intellect. The Hijaab gives him no other choice. She is a woman who is truly shielded from the nature of man.[7] -Nature- The nature of a woman is fundamentally different from man. Women are more timid, gentle and caring then men. This is the reason why they have been chosen (by Allaah) to be the perfect rearers of children. The Hijaab reinforces this nature of the woman. We praise Allaah that he has ordered this Hijaab, for the world that we live in seeks to change our very nature as human beings. Men try to be women and women try to be men. People are being led into confusion by the political correctness which is so popular in our societies. Many women have jumped onto the bandwagon of feminism and lesbianism, shouting how evil and oppressive men are. But when one looks at these sad creatures, their delusion is clear. While claiming to hate men, their attire suggests otherwise. Short hair, bomber jackets and steel toecapped boots, are the vogue for these women. Their hatred for men is so much, that their very appearance resembles the enemy!! Some of these women have even gone to the extreme of growing masses of facial hair. The hideous site of these bearded ladies, is enough to put anyone off their dinner!!! Such depravity is far from natural. The Hijab on the other hand, enables the woman to stay as a woman. Rather then being a monstrosity, a woman in Hijab is like an oyster with a beautiful pearl inside it. Her femininity has stayed feminine, without being altered into masculinity. There is no doubt about it, this is a TRUE WOMAN. -Honour- Contrary to the tales of the media, the Hijab provides an honour for the woman like no other garment does. For many women, a dress designed by Versace[8] or Armani is all the honour they need. But the Hijaab carries far more honour then these worthless clothes. Whilst the dresses of the catwalks are designed by mere mortals, the Hijaab comes from the one who is immortal, Allaah. Through it a woman is held with the utmost respect. True Muslim men are obliged to keep their Muslim sisters away from the corruption of this world. Thus a Muslim will not allow for someone to ogle his wife, chat her up or harass her. The honour of a Muslim woman demands that this does not happen. How contrary this is to life in the west. Men in the west feel no obligation to protect women from the harms of society. This is why a man will allow his wife to be a stripper, call-girl and even a prostitute. Honour knows no place in the west. This honour will only be achieved from Islam and its Hijab. The honour of a Muslim woman is so high, that we believe that the state of a society is dependent upon its women. If the women are corrupt and immoral, then the society will be corrupt and immoral. If the women are righteous and god-fearing, then the society will be righteous and god-fearing. Women are the educators of the nation. But if they have no honour and have been corrupted, then society will be void of education and steeped in ignorance. This is the predicament of a society which rejects Hijab. This is the predicament of all Western societies, which stubbornly cling onto their depressing ways of life. Those who seek to reject Hijab after reading this, then their loss will eventually become apparent. But those who seek to please Allaah through this action, can be sure that this good can only bring more good: "Is there any reward for good – other then goodness?" (Sura Ar-Rahman 55:60) Footnotes:- 1. The British media is an example of this. Whilst condemning the Hijaab as oppressive, it is well known that newspapers such as The Sun and The News of the World, often display pictures of naked women. This of course, is the liberation which the West claims to give women! 2. Dr Zaki Badawi is a self-styled mufti who is unfortunately seen as a public face of Islam. A number of years ago, Dr. Badawi appeared on Dutch T.V. proclaiming that Hijaab was not obligatory. This announcement caused much confusion and resulted in some women taking their Hijaab off. 3. Authentic – Reported by Al-Bayhaqee. 4. Even though it is not obligatory to cover the face and hands, it is without doubt recommended that the niqaab (the face veil) and/or gloves be worn. Such acts are seen as modesty and piety from the woman, and they can only bring her more reward. 5. The proofs for these conditions can be found in an excellent book entitled "The Islamic ruling regarding Women’s dress, according to the Qur’an and Sunnah" by Abu Bilal Mustafa Al-Kanadi. 6. Wearing Hijaab in the West can be a struggle for many women. The hypocrisy of the West is such, that it does not respect this choice which is made willingly, and subjects these women to much psychological pressure. 2 years ago, two Muslim girls were even expelled from a school in France because they wore Hijaab. Freedom has truly been given a new meaning! 7. "A view through Hijaab" is an informative account of life in Hijaab. Written by Khaula Nakata, it is the experience of Hijaab as seen through the eyes of a Japanese woman who embraced Islam. 8. There will be no more dresses designed by Gianni Versace!! The evils of Homosexuality ensured that this man (?) reaped the fruits of his unholy labour.
  5. taken from http://www.troid.org/articles/sisters/themuslimwoman/themuslimwoman.htm By Shaykh ‘Abdul ‘Azeez Ibn Baaz (d.1420H) (rahimahullaah) [1] The status of the Muslim woman in Islaam is a very noble and lofty one, and her effect is very great in the life of every Muslim. Indeed the Muslim woman is the initial teacher in building a righteous society, providing she follows the guidance from the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam). Since adherence to the Qur`aan and the Sunnah distances every Muslim – male or female – from being misguided in any matter. The misguidance that the various nations suffer from, and their being deviated does not come about except by being far away from the path of Allaah – the Most Perfect, the Most High – and from what His Prophets and Messngers - may Allaah’s Peace and Prayers be upon them all – came with. The Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: "I am leaving behind you two matters, you will not go astray as long as you cling to them both, the Book of Allaah and my Sunnah." [2] The great importance of the Muslim woman’s role – whether as wife, sister, or daughter, and the rights that are due to her and the rights that are due from her – have been explained in the noble Qur`aan, and further detailed of this have been explained in the purified Sunnah. The secret of her importance lies in the tremendous burden and responsibility that is placed upon her, and the difficulties she has to shoulder – responsibilities and difficilties some of which not even a man bears. This is why from the most important obligations upon a person is to show gratitude to the mother, and kindness and good companionship with her. And in this matter, she is to be given precedence over and above the father. Allaah the Exalted says: "And We have enjoined upon man to be good and dutiful to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness upon weakness and hardship upon hardship, and his weaning is in two years. Show gratitude and thanks to Me and to your parents. Unto Me is the final destination." [soorah Luqmaan 31:14] Allaah the Exalted said: "And We have enjoined upon man to be dutiful and kind to his parents. His mother bears him with hardship, and she brings him forth with hardship. And the bearing and weaning of him is thirty months." [sooratul Ahqaaf 41:15] A man came to the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and said: "O Messenger of Allaah! Who from amongst mankind warrents the best companionship from me?" He replied: "Your mother." The man asked, "Then who?" So he replied: "Your mother." The man then asked, "Then who?" So the Prophet replied again: "Your mother." Then the man asked, "Then who?" So he replied: "Your father." [3] So this necessitates that the mother is given three times the likes of kindness and good treatment than the father. As regards the wife, then her status and her effect in making the soul tranquil and serene has been clearly shown in the noble aayah (statement of Allaah), in His – the Exalted – saying: "And from His signs is this: That He created for you wives amongst yourselves, so that you may find serentiy and tranquility in them. And He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in this are signs for those who reflect." [sooratur Room 30:21] Al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer (d.774H) – rahimahullaah – said whilst explaining the terms muwaddah and rahmah which occur in the above aayah: "Al-muwaddah means love and affection and ar-rahmah means compassion and pity – since a man takes a woman either due to his love for her, or because of compassion and pity for her; by giving to her a child from himself…" [4] And the unique stance that the Prophet’s (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) wife Khadeejah – radiyallaahu ‘anhaa – took, had a huge effect in calming and reassuring the Messenger of Allaah (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), when the angel Jibreel (‘alayhis salaam) first came to the cave of Hiraa. So the Prophet (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) returned to Khadeejah (radiyallaahu ‘anhaa) with the first Revelation and with his heart beating and trembling severely, and he said to her: "Cover me! Cover me!" So she covered him until his fear was over, after which he told Khadeejah (radiyallaahu ‘anhaa) everything that happened and said: "I fear that something may happen to me." So she said to him: "Never! By Allaah! Allaah will never disgrace you. You keep good ties with the relations, you help the poor and the destitute, you serve your guests generously and assist those who have been afflicted with calamities." [5] And do not forget about ‘Aa`ishah (radiyallaahu ‘anhaa) and her great effect. Since even the great Companions used to take the knowledge of Hadeeth from her, and many of the Sahaabiyaat (female Companions) learned the various rulings pertaining to women’s issues from her. And I have no doubt that my mother – may Allaah shower His mercy upon her – had a tremendous effect upon me, in encouraging me to study; and she assisted me in it. May Allaah greatly increase her reward and reward her with the best of rewards for what she did for me. And there is no doubt also, that the house in which there is kindness, gentleness, love and care, along with the correct Islaamic tarbiyah (education and cultivation) will greatly effect the man. So he will become – if Allaah wills – successful in his affairs and in any matter – whether it be seeking knowledge, trading, earning a living, or other than this. So it is Allaah alone that I ask to grant success and to guide us all to that which He loves and is pleased with. And may the Prayers and Peace of Allaah be upon our Prophet Muhammad and upon his Family, his Companions and his followers. Footnotes: [1] He is the exemplary Scholar: Abu ‘Abdullaah, ‘Abdul ‘Azeez Ibn ‘Abdullaah Ibn Baaz. He was born in the city of Riyaadh (Saudi Arabia) on the 12th of Dhul-Hijjah in the year 1330H. He began seeking knowledge by first memorizing the Qur`aan before reaching the age of puberty. After this, He began to study noble sciences such as ‘Aqeedah (beliefs), Fiqh (Islaamic Jurisprudence), Hadeeth (Prophetic Narrations), Usoolul-Fiqh (fundamentals of jurisprudence), Faraa`id (Laws of inheritance), Nahw (Grammar) and Sarf (morphology) – even though the Shaykh became permanently blind at the age of nineteen. He studied these sciences under some of the most prominent scholars of Riyaadh and Makkah of his time, including Shaykh Muhammad Ibn ‘Abdul Lateef Ibn ‘Abdur Rahmaan Ibn Hasan and also the former Grand Muftee and noble scholar, Shaykh Muhammad Ibn Ibraaheem – whom he studied under for ten years. He lived to be eighty-nine years old, he was mild, generous and forbearing in nature, yet firm, whilst wise while speaking the truth. He was a zaahid (one who abstains) with respect to this world and he was one of the foremost scholars of Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah in his age. The noble Shaykh – by Allaah’s grace – devoted his whole life to Islaam and it’s people, authoring many books and booklets, teaching and serving the masses, along with being very active in the field of Da’wah. May Allaah forgive our noble father and Shaykh. 6. Tawhid -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Introductory Materials The Benefits of Tawheed Author: Shaikh Muhammad bin Jameel Zainoo Source: The Methodology of the Saved Sect (trans. Abu Nasir) Article ID : TAW010009 [5001] -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When pure tawheed is actualised in the life of an individual or the society it produces the best of results. From its results are the following: 1) Liberation of mankind from worship and submission to other than Allaah. The creation cannot create anything, rather they themselves are created. They are not capable of harming nor benefiting their souls. They are not capable of causing death nor giving life nor are they able to resurrect the dead. So tawheed liberates man from every worship, except to his Lord, the One Who created him and then proportioned hini. It liberates his intelligence from deviation and delusions. It liberates his mind from obedience, humility and submission to other than Allaah. It liberates his life from the mastery of the rulers, the soothsayers and those who deem themselves divinely appointed over the slaves of Allaah. Due to this, the leaders of shirk and oppression in the times of ignorance rose up against the call of the Prophets in general and particularly against the call of the Messenger, because of the fact that they understood the meaning of "La ilaaha lila Allaah" to be a universal pronouncement for the liberation of mankind, and the overthrowing of the tyrants from their false thrones, and the elevation of the faces of believers, those who do not prostrate except to Allaah, the Lord of the Worlds. 2) The personality remains balanced. Tawheed aids the formation of a balanced personality, the preferred aim and direction of this life, and it unifies and consolidates its purpose. So the personality does not turn except to the only One worthy of worship, and it turns to Him in private and in open and it calls to him in private and in open, and it calls upon Him in ease and in adversity. As opposed to the Mushrik (pagan) who shares his heart between those who are worshipped besides Allaah, at times he turns to the living and at times he turns to the dead, and Yusuf said: Oh my two companions of the prison, are many different lords better, or Allaah, the One, the Irresistible? [12:39] So, the believer worships One Lord, he knows what is pleasing to Him and what is displeasing to Him, lie stops at whatever pleases Him and his heart becomes calm. As for the Mushrik, lie worships numerous deities, one he takes from here and another he takes from there and he is divided between them and he has no comfort. 3) Tawheed is the source of security for the people, because it fills the soul of the individual with peace and satisfaction. He does not fear anyone except Allaah and tawheed blocks the ways to fear of loss in provisions, the soul and the family, fear from mankind, inn, death and other than that from those things which are feared. The believer who worships Allaah alone. does not fear anyone except Him and because of this he feels secure whilst the rest of mankind fear and he feels satisfaction whilst the people are restless. This is the meaning that is indicated in the Qur'aan in His saying: Those who believe and do not mix their belief with dhulm, they are those upon whom is security and they are the rightly guided.[6:82] This security emerges from the innermost depths of the soul and not from any police guard which is the security of this world. As for the security of the Hereafter, then it is greater and more lasting for those who are sincere to Allaah and do not mix their tawheed with shirk, because shirk is a great dhulm. 4) Tawheed is the source for the strengthening of the soul, because it gives an individual a strong and formidable mental attitude, by which he fills his soul with hope in Allaah, confidence in Allaah and reliance upon Allaah, pleasure with His Decree, gives him patience upon His Tests and freedom from reliance upon the creation. This individual is firmly established, like the mountains, and when a calamity befalls him he asks his Lord to remove it and not the dead. The Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) indicated this in his saying: "When you ask, then ask Allaah and when you seek help, then seek help from Allaah alone. " [Hasan Sahih – Tirmidhi] If Allaah touches you with harm, none can remove it except Him."[6:17] 5) Tawheed is the foundation of brotherhood and equality, because it does not permit following those who take others as lords besides Allaah, since worship is for Allaah alone and worship to Allaah alone must be from all of mankind, and the head of them is Muhammad (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) His Messenger and His chosen one. taken from www.spubs.com
  7. You missed the point: Salafies are followers of the salafus saaleeh, not saudi arabia. point 8 and 9 are not subject to saudi arabia, but to all muslim governments, this sunnah was established when the messenger was alive not when saudi arabia became a kingdom. i dont see why saudi is your main enemy, this is a country that has established laws of the shari'a in their court systems . you will not find a single church, sinigog, temple etc in the kingdom because tawheed is established. during prayer time it is illegal to buy and sell, and every man has to attend the congregation prayer. what? are u waiting for cnn to tell u this?? are u waiting for cnn to tell that saudi was the largest single private doner to one of the 3rd world muslim countries? how do u know what they do with there money? no, u based your info on heresay and desires. akhie, not everyone is perfect, people are going to sin. what salafi agrees with riba in banks? we're calling you to follow the messenger and his companions, not to blind follow saudi arabia. whatever u state about saudi from this point on is irrelevant. we never said salafi is whatever the saudis are doing. not every saudi is salafi or righteous, just like the rest of mankind. as for countries depending on others... do u know anything about economics and trade, and politics? besides if saudi opposes the sunnah in some of these affairs, it doesnt mean this is from salafiyyah. [what i posted here in relation to the gulf war, i removed for fear of being mistakened or not having sufficient details. and i have repented to Allaah, incase i was being hasty, and in saying anything incorrect] akhie stick to what is relevant. islam is a complete religion. the sunnah is complete and perfect. all harm, injustice, and crookedness is raised from it. so we call u to the sunnah, not to blind follow anyone except the messenger. you asked what is your proof that this is the save sect. the prophet said the one group who will be saved from the fire are those who are upon what i and my companions are upon. this is salafiyyah. if u find someone doing something that they were not upon, then this is NOT from salafiyyah. and its not you who decides if something is from the sunnah or not because u dont have the knowledge to do so. so stick to the people of knowledge who know. we are salafi, followers of the sunnah of prophet muhammad salallaahu 'alahi was salam, and his companions and the generations that followed them. we are upon what they are upon, you are right everyone claims this, but it is the sunnah that decides if they are really upon this. the tabligi's and sufis says they are ahlul sunnah, but they worship graves, and engage in many innovations. the salaf werent upon this. therefore tabligi's and sufies cant be ahlul sunnah even if they say so, because they oppose the sunnah.... get it. inshallahu ta'ala what i have stated is clear, and as the brother abo torab, this is also my last post. your affair is with Allaah.
  8. PLEASE READ THE ARTICLE AGAIN WITH A SINCERE HEART. THIS MENHAJ IS CLEAR AND THE CREED OF THE SALAFI IS CLEAR. ARE YOU HONESTLY GOING TO REJECT THIS AND SAY YOU DONT WANT TO BE SALAFI/SUNNI/FOLLOWER OF THE SALAFUS SAALEEH? THE REALITY IS THAT THE UMMAH HAS SPLIT INTO DIFFERENT SECTS AND PARTIES. AND THE MESSENGER SAID THE SAVED SECT IS ONE AND THEY ARE THOSE WHO ARE UPON WHAT HIM AND HIS COMPANIONS ARE UPON. SO THIS IS THE SALAFI, HE IS A FOLLOWER OF THE SALAF. INSHALLAH, NOW YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO SALAFIYYAH, SO YOU HAVE TO GO AND SEARCH THE TRUTH, EVEN IF YOU BELIEVE SALAFIYYAH IS NOT THE TRUTH GO AND FIND WHAT TRUTH IS THEN. AND MAKE DU'AH THAT ALLAH AIDS YOU. IT IS ALLAAH WE WILL ALL HAVE TO RETURN TO. MAY ALLAAH SHOW US TRUTH AS TRUTH AND AID US IN ACCEPTING IT, AND SHOW US FALSEHOOD AS FALSEHOOD AND AID US IN ABANDONING IT. AMEEN
  9. Bismillaah was salaatuh was salaam 'ala rasolillah assalamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh ya ikhwan wa akhawaat, i plead with you to fear Allaah. Fear Him as He should be feared. When i posted this article i did not intend it to be a subject of debate. my intention was to clarify to those individuals who have a misunderstanding of dawatus salafiyah, to what the menhaj is and calls to. some misconceptions are that, it is a new sect, saudi government is behind this, etc. so these points outlined BRIEFLY what the menhaj is about. i am very surprised that you can find things to argue about. Please fear Allaah and hold on firm to the Kitab and sunnah. the religion has been completed for us. there is no room for the layman's opinion. and who understood the religion the best? the first 3 generations. so we base our understanding of the kitab and sunnah in accordance to their understanding. and after them we had imams and scholars who have taken on the same path. are you people arguing with us or are you challenging Allaah and His messenger?????? you have copied and pasted quotes from every salafi on this forum and refuted them according to your opinion and desires. and because u stated some ayat doesnt make u correct because 1) u based it on your understanding 2) you have no knowledge of the issue you're refuting. inshallah read the tafseer of the ayat and explanations of the scholars. If you desire the truth, then search for it with a sincere heart. dont just look for things to attack the members of this board. remeber this is the deen of Allaah. if you dont understand something, return to those who know, not us masaakeen posting here. Walahee i fear that you are not a people who care for the truth, you ask vague questions and when u get the answer you start with something irrelavent. and please dont accept and reject things if its not in accordance to your intellect. we have to know our position and understand how very little our knowledge is. take the brother who said the idea of obeying the opressive rulers is retarded,as an example, not realising that it came from the statement of the messenger of Allaah salallaahu alayhi was salam, so he ridiculed the revelation without realising. Allaah knows what is in our hearts, and whomever desires the straight path then Allaah will guide him to it. but as for those who reject the truth and follow their desires, then Allaahu musta'an. inshallah, dont pick from my statements and pose some bazar remarks as an attempt to defame dawatus salafiyyah, go to the salafi websites i added earlier and look into the articles and audios of the scholars if u want a knowledgebased understanding of salafiyyah. ADVICE TO THOSE POSTING IN DEFENCE OF SALAFIYYAH: may Allah reward you for your intentions and increase you and guide u to what He is pleased with. inshallah stay firm to the statements of the trustworthy scholars and becareful in the examples and explanation u give from your ownselves. again this is the deen of Allaah, and we call to Allah upon knowledge, and its important we know our position so that we do not mention something incorrect and as a result turn others away from the guidance. and please dont waste your time answering and replying to some of the posts, it seems like they're just trying to oppose salafiyyah, so when the truth becomes clear they copy a statement from u and find something new to attack this menhaj on. so dont allow the deen of Allaah to be subject to ridicule. may Allaah guides us ALL to the truth, and forgive us for what has occurred between us in this forum. Ameen. assalaamu 'alaykum
  10. MOST READ!!! [taken from ]www.bakkah.net][/b] from the book 'explanation of the 10 Things That Nullify One's Islaam" can be ordered at <a href="http://"http://www.troid.org/store."">www.troid.org/store.[/b] [ In the Name of Allah, the All-Merciful... ] The seventh one: Magic, like as-sarf and al-'atf [2], whoever practices it or is pleased with it has disbelieved. [3] The seventh kind of apostasy is magic, the practice of magicians. It is two types: genuine and illusionary. The first type, genuine magic, consists of the magician blowing on tied knots, murmuring phrases and words over them, seeking assistance from the devils within these words, the hanging of charms, and writing the names of devils on talismans. This is what genuine magic is, and it is something that has an effect on the targeted person, either by him being killed, becoming sick, or his mind being affected. The second type, illusionary magic, is when things are manipulated in a way that causes someone to think that what he sees is actually that way, while it is not true. A man is made to think that the magician has done the following things: * He turned a rock turned into an animal; * He killed someone and then brought him back to life, by cutting his head off and then replacing it; * He pulled a car along by his hair or teeth; * A car ran him over and did not harm him; * He entered into a fire; * He ate fire; * He stabbed himself with some piece of iron; * He stabbed himself in the eye with an iron skewer; * Or that he ate a piece of glass. All of these are kinds of fake tricks that have no truth in them, and they are like the magic of Fir'awn's magicians. Allah, the Most High, has said: "He (Moosaa) was made to believe from their magic that they (the magicians' sticks) were (snakes) moving about." [4] And Allah, the Most High, has said: "They put magic on the eyes of the people and sought to frighten them." [5] This is illusionary magic [6]. They call it al-qamrah, a trick that the magician does to the people's eyes. When the qamrah wears off, things return to their normal states. Magic is disbelief, and the proof is the statement of Allah, the Most High: "However, the devils disbelieved, teaching the people magic." [7] Both learning and teaching magic are disbelief in Allah, the Mighty and Majestic. It is also one of the kinds of apostasy. The magician is an apostate. If he was first a believer and then practiced magic, then he has apostated from the Religion of Islam [8]. He is to be killed without requesting him to repent according to some of the scholars, since if he repented openly, he is known as a person who deceives the people, and the knowledge of magic would still remain in his heart even after he has repented. The proof is His Statement: "And they (the two who taught magic) did not teach anyone before first saying, 'We are merely a tribulation, so do not disbelieve.' " [7] Allah the Majestic and Exalted sent down two angels from the heavens, teaching the people magic, as a trial and a test for the people [9]. When they came to those who desired to learn magic, they advised them, saying to them: "We are merely a tribulation, so do not disbelieve." [7] Meaning: "Do not learn magic." So this proves that learning magic is disbelief. This article was taken from BAKKAHnet (www.bakkah.net) FOOTNOTES [1] From the TROID publication: Things that Nullify One's Islam by Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn 'Abdil-Wahhaab, explained by Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan. Click here for information about ordering the book. [2] As-sarf and al-'atf: Two different types of magic that involve turning people against each other (as-sarf) and causing them to love each other (al-'atf) [3] The words in the box are from Shaykh al-Islam Muhammad ibn 'Abdil-Wahhaab, and what follows is Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan's explanation. [4] A translation of the meaning of Soorah Taa-Haa (20):66 [5] A translation of the meaning of Soorah al-A'raaf (7):116 [6] Even illusionary magic can be considered disbelief in Allah. Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzaan, may Allaah preserve him, says in his book, Duroos fee Sharh Nawaaqidh al-Islam (p.146-147): Jundub ibn Ka'b, the Companion, killed a magician in the presence of one of the governors of Banee Umayyah. He came and found the magician playing games in front of the governor, pretending to kill a person and then bring him back to life by cutting off his head and then replacing it. This is a kind of illusionary magic. He was trying to convince the people that he was killing him and then putting his head back upon his shoulders. He did not actually do anything, he was only tricking the people with an illusion. So Jundub went up to him and struck him with his sword until he chopped his head off, and said, "If he was truthful, then let him bring himself back to life." Translator's note: Ibn 'Abdil-Barr (may Allaah have Mercy on him) mentioned that the governor was al-Waleed ibn 'Uqbah (may Allaah be pleased with him), and that he arrested Jundub for this action and wrote to the khaleefah 'Uthmaan ibn 'Affaan (may Allaah be pleased with him) about what happened. 'Uthmaan then ordered him to be released and he was. (Alistee'aab, p.113) [7] A translation of the meaning of Soorah al-Baqarah (2):102 [8] Shaykh Saalih discusses the impermissibility of using magic to cure magic and refutes the claim that Shaykh Ibn Baaz (may Allah have Mercy on him) allowed it. See: Question #32 in Appendix I: Questions and Answers (of the published version). [9] Shaykh Saalih was asked, "How is it that the angels taught magic when teaching magic is a form of disbelief?" For his answer, refer to Question #31 in Appendix I: Questions and Answers (of the published version).

  12. Bismillaah Ar-Rahmaan Ar-Raheem Assalamu'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakatu 10 Points on the Salafee Manhaj By: Shaikh Yahya An-Najmee [for a bio of shaykh yahya click ]here 1. We worship Allaah by way of Tawheed. So we do not supplicate to anyone besides Allaah nor do we seek refuge in anyone besides Him in matters of bringing about good or repelling some harm. We perform worship by having hatred and enmity for the polytheists. However, we are obligated to call them to Tawheed first and clarify to them that there is no Islaam without Tawheed and that whoever calls unto other than Allaah has committed disbelief. So whoever persists after that, then at that point we are obligated to distance ourselves from him and hate him for the sake of Allaah. 2. The Creed of the Salaf is established upon the principle that "Allaah is described with what He has described himself with in His Book and upon the tongue of His Messenger (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam), without resorting to tahreef, tamtheel, tashbeeh, ta’teel or ta’weel." [1] 3. We affirm for Allaah the best of Names, which He has affirmed for Himself and which He has praised Himself with, whether they are mentioned in the Qur’aan or the Sunnah. 4. We believe that there is no path towards achieving Allaah’s contentment, or a way towards Paradise, except through the Way of Allaah’s Messenger (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam). And whoever seeks a way towards gaining Allaah’s contentment through other than the Way of Allaah’s Messenger, then he has gone astray and been blinded from the truth. And he has lost in this world and the next. 5. We believe that the Legislation of Allaah is what has been brought down through the two revelations: The Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam). This is what our Lord has indicated in his saying: "Then we placed you on a Sharee'ah (Legislated System) based on Our Command, so follow it, and do not follow the desires of those who have no knowledge." [surah Al-Jaathiyah: 18] 6. We believe that the Qur’aan is the Speech of Allaah, which was revealed and not created, and that the Sunnah is what explains and clarifies it. The Qur’aan is interpreted by the Sunnah and by the interpretations of the Sahaabah (Companions) and those who followed them in goodness. So the interpretation of the Qur’aan is by way of the narration, meaning by way of the Sahaabah, the Taabi’een and the Ahaadeeth concerning it. And the books that contain these interpretations are the ones we are obligated to acquire and read, such as the Tafseer of Ibn Jareer, the Tafseer of Ibn Katheer, the Tafseer of Al-Baghawee, the Tafseer "Ad-Durr Al-Manthoor" of As-Suyootee and so on. 7. We are obligated to take the Sunnah according to the way of the Muhadditheen - in terms of their authenticity or weakness. So we take what is found to be authentic and leave off what is weak. 8. We worship Allaah by obeying the rulers, as long as they are Muslims who seek judgement through Allaah’s Legislation and who establish the prescribed punishments, and as long as they establish the prayer. Obeying them is an obligation even if they commit oppression. And whoever says something contrary to this and makes it permissible to revolt against the Muslim leader, even if he may be oppressive, then he is an innovator and a deviant. And it is obligatory on the Muslim scholars to refute this statement of his and to expose his deviance. 9. We hold that it is not permissible to spread the faults of the leaders, because doing this influences and brings about trials and afflictions (fitan), and causes them to spread. 10. We are obligated to worship Allaah through the Sunnah, by following it and by loathing innovations and the innovators. This is based on the Prophet’s saying: "Whoever does a deed, which is not in accordance to our affair (i.e. the Sunnah) is rejected." And in another narration: "Whoever introduces into our affair (Sunnah) that which isn’t part of it is rejected." This is a summary and some brief words on the Creed of the Salaf, which we are obligated to accept and follow if we truly want salvation and the truth. And we must renounce those opinions of men, which cannot be traced back to any source of evidence, since men are known by way of the truth and the truth is not known by way of men. Lastly, we must beg and implore Allaah to show us the truth as true and enable us to follow it, and to show us the falsehood as false and enable us to avoid it. Indeed Allaah is Responsible for that and Able to make it happen. And may the peace and blessings of Allaah be on Muhammad - the best, most dutiful, most pious and purest of creation - and on his family and his Companions. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Footnotes: [1] Translator’s Note: These are forbidden acts committed against Allaah’s Names and Attributes. Tahreef means to change or distort the wording of Allaah’s name or attribute. Tamtheel and tashbeeh means to give a like resemblance to a name or an attribute. Ta’teel means total denial of a name or an attribute. Ta’weel means to misinterpret a name or an attribute, thus changing it’s meaning. www.al-ibaanah.com wasalaamu'alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakatu
