QacQac: feminists are provoked by men's comments not women's so I am safe
-
I personally think the original topic has changed but let me try to stick with it... BF & GF ( BF=boyfriend, Gf=girlfriend.. incase u didn't know )is how you define and the agreement you make iwth ur partner. If you tell your BF or GF your intentions and what you plan to get from the relationship, then I think there would be no hassle or misunderstanding. So maybe the idea of Bf & GF has been exxagerated a little since we got to the West but from what I heard from my older relatives, it has always been similar to the ones we have now. Kissing was in the package folks... although sex was a tabboo yet guys like they do nowadays demanded it from girls they wanted No future of marriage. So if we look a little closer we see, we haven't changed much, except we speak more freely nowadays than back then. Garab : Weera muundiyaada aad wadid jooji sxb.. walaahi waxaada ka dareey ay noqotay. Waa ku aqaanaa.. maxaa kaa jaqjaqsiinaayo i dheh.. ma rabi in meesha farfar ku taag ka bilowmo.. somalinet aa saas uga soo guurnay gacalkeey.. ee naga qaleey plzz... hadii lagaa roonaan waayo adiga roonow..

Originally posted by underdog: The quality of life you should be planning for and saving for isn't financial, you should be investing in how you can be a good wife and good mother....career planning and money can't buy that. ^^Couldn't agree more.... I don't think there is anything wrong with sisters making careers and planning for their financial independence, however I wouldn't encourage any woman to be a superwoman, for i have the evidence of what that does to women infront of my eyes. Sorry ladies but our bodies aren't made of steel and we can't do the double shifts all life long. As to what to do in between, commit urself in volunteering works. Why don't you go back to SOmalia and help the needy? Why don't you devote few months of your life to the development of your country? In the mean while you can figure out what you want.

Interesting indeed. Girls analyzing from their point of views.. men doing the vice versa... Now we have only heard of one side of the story.. so guys n girls don't u think we need to hear from THE GIRL'S side of the story?? Opinionated: U r right sista.. but take it easy with the guys...plzz.. they can't handle your red hot iron rod... it kind of leaves scars

Listen GARAB & QAC : I do respect your opinions and views about this whole dillema we have created in with this topic, but then you guys should atleast listen when we cry out too. Don't be uncivil and don't get personal. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and when one states them we should either diagree with it and attack the idea or ignore it and move it.. in other words Agree to DISagree What opinionated said is right in her own terms and principles and what you said is right too in your concepts... so don't try to impose yours on her.... simple as dat brothas... We are all brothers and sisters here.. let us respect each other.

Nin_yaaban: The narrow mindedness of the few Somali men who can't get past the mind of a Geeljire.. shouldn't be let to overshadow those of our broader minded brothers bro... Just my two cents...

Qac Qac: Aboowihiis macaankeey waa kugu raacsanahay in ISlam once a child reaches 15, they r adults, laakiinse taasna waxey suurta gashaa marka caruurta koriso the whole village instead of just the parents. And I agree with you on the fact that adults should intervene when a child astrays and set them str8, but the way we were thought of discipline doesn't work in the west. So what the parents are left with is, to sit and reason out with their kids, and let us be honesty, reasoning with kids isn't the style of a somali parent. So the masakiin kids are left to make their own choice. But then Islam also tells us that, wax kasta waa qoran yihiin. if the child is destined to be imprisoned, regardless of what you do and how good a parent you were, he/she will get there. So all the parents in the west can do is pray and hope for the best. Don't you think, this calls for a change in the parents' attitude towards their children rather than criticism of the kids?

[/QB]Saw some got replies thnx for that.....the rest I hope you didn't get this the wrong way....am not a perve, but if you do than you can suck on my chocolate salty balls. I don't think classic women as you refer to us deserve to be lowered as such. If you haven't read the rules of SOL plz start there b4 you knock at the women's corner.... BTW. Wlc to the nomad land.. as a refugee of somalinet, let me remind you here is not somalinet and profanity is highly prohibited.... adios and have fun... -
QAc QAc: Aboowihiis, horta mid. Every young generation that is from 12-20. These years are known as adolescent years. These are the years when every kid makes mistakes, experiments with life and most of all forms his/her personality. So it is no surprise to see them wanting to be the trend of the year. We have immigrated to a different world where 50 cent and Wutang rule, so kids broughht up in these areas will wanna dress and behave like them. The only sad thing is, when they don't grow out of it eventually. All the young kids I know back in the States have really matured to become better Nomads than their parents were, mainly b/c they have began to look for identity. I acually do support the youths who dress like the celebraties coz that is the cool thing. But look at the older ppl who changed from being decent to a thug? Aniga kuwaas aan la yaabanahay.. laakiinse caruurta waqtigooda ayeey ku jiraan.. As for being African American.. war heedhe.. fursado badan ayaanu ku heysanaa sheegashada aanu sheeganeyno madowga aanu mareykan ugu nimid.. marka why not?

I would only IF he is worth it ... as to what I would do, simple " Yo brotha I think I am digging you so wanna go out my treat "
-
I would wait till his lousy a$$ has fallen asleep. Then my sisters I would tie him up. And have my feast. I would beat him every 30 minutes for 10 minutes. Till the next day. And when morning comes, I would pack my bags and that of my kids, empty the bank accounts and honey fly.

Pearl: You were saved this time... Thank God.. but sister.. Arab or non arab.. even a Somali.. never let any man into your home.. when u r alone. If I have learnt anything from UAE, is to never let anyone into the house any man regardless of who he is.. till someone else is with me. DOn't even open the door. " Sorry there is no one at home, come back after so and so hour".. That should be polite enough... and safe for your part. If he is a relative and you feel embarrassed to do that then, just tip toe to the door, and have a peek, if you see a man.. ignore it. SIMPLE.

How about University of Khartoum? Sudan has gr8 universities... and their aluminis are known to be well prepared when scattered around... so worth checking don't ya think

Yasmine: Nice topic sis.. though I am late to respond as usual. My answer to the question at hand is, NO. But I have learnt long time to never say never. "It does bite you back".. But I can't picture myself with another man other than my handsome Farahs. And where are the sisters that said, our brother r ugly. Walaahi they don't know beauty. Take any farah from the nearest cafe` and give him make over.. i.e. New clothes, new hair cut and new teeth . Walaahi he will be transformed into an stunning prince. So don't say our Farahs are ugly. PLUS... I personally would walaahi dare to see a somali sister or brotha for that matter with a breath taking ajinabi. I am YET TO SEE. They are always with the ugliest of that society. Atleast have the decency of going with the MOST eligible Bachelor or Bachelorette... of that ajinabi community since u deserted your own kind.. FARAHS YOU RULE DON'T LET INSECURE SISTERS DISCOURAGE YOU Just take good care of your selves and the way you look. You will reign the world.. that is fo sho

Baby-Gurl: I am not sure coz I don't suffer from allergies, but I think relaxing your eyes, using eye creams.. could work.. but if all of this fails... definitely concealers... they r great... try them!

Glad I could entertain ya... Akash: Tumko bhi hindi bholne lage... aare wah! Nice Sign...

DND: No wonder u never find anything that fits you.. girl u hang out in two department stores that have pretty much the same style.. For jeans.. I would certainly recommend Gap that is if u r African shaped if u know what I mean. They got nice jeans that fit right. Even EXpress has good ones. For tops depends where u r heading or for what occassion. For me an evening top.. is cache`.. they r a bit expensive but they got cool collection. daily wear I would say NY & Lerner or Limited even express... I think along American lines.. so pardon me if I am not English in style Pearl: sis I can't help u.. but sista they got gr8 styles for mahajabin sistas here. Mustacjab baad u dhimaneysaa if u see how the sistas got it rolling ....
