  4. Lool. Living it up, I see. You jumped right in wiht the food, did you not fear getting ill? lol. For a moment i thought some Kaftan was a kind of food! lol.
  5. loool North, HAHA. Interesting, Did they not fight over your bags, and did you not see fake relatives laa soo diire apprently? lool. Go, stop teasing us, pics.
  6. I would love to share, but I do not have a phobia of marriage, or guys. Sorry, I'm sure someone will be along shortly who will share their reasons with you and help you out. As for the Gifts, send what you can and are able to, unless you want me to give you a list to pick from, lol. I'm just kidding.
  7. ^^Oh I must have forgot to tell you before, don't you know? I'm getting married in two weeks time.
  8. Yes Welcome. The question is, do you have a phobia of Somali men or girls? If so, what is it that you fear most when you establish a new link (contact) with a boy or girl?
  9. ^^^Nope, that is where you are wrong again, it is for the government to set up the means/ institutions to enable this, and may even have to allocate funds for it. It is not the government role to take action against an individuals who break the law or offend shariah, this will create an over lap of power/ abuse etc. There is the courts/ laws etc to deal with these kind of things. It is also government role and responsibility to create laws that protect minorities, non Muslims etc, and ensure all these institutions and branches are effectively running independent of each other, based on justice. This is also the role of a democratic government nooh? What I am saying is that democracy can be used as means or a mechanism thorough which the sharia can be applied, the frame work of democracy is wide enought to allow this and Islam does not advocate complete rule by religious hierarchy, hence we have the freedom to adopt whatever political system is working.
  10. ^^You are mixing things up, there is a difference between Islam and Political Islamic system. A political Islamic system just aims to govern without offending or contradicting Islamic values and principles, and at the same time create a system where by the Muslims can advance, improve, seek justice etc. It is a component of Islam if you like. Islam as a religion to be followed, spread etc, will be up to an institution to do, not on a government level. As for your second point, you are creating a conflict between the idea of rule by the majority, with individual right. The rule by the majority comes after your personal right (to do as you please as long as you do not harm anyone in the process).
  11. From what i understand a formalized Islamic political system has a slighty different foundation, including the two core concepts of Tawhid (oneness of allah and Khilafat (encompassing three main elements ofthe caliphate, Sultan and ulama.) on top of this there is consultation (shura), consensus (ijma), and independent interpretative judgment (ijtihad). Other than that Islam and democracy are not that different, the prinicples are the same, with same goals. Prove me wrong JB, we can adopt democracy as long as we encompass these basic foundations to it. JB: if you don't like the word democracy, how about Modernization?
  12. We as Muslims value human dignity and civil liberties, accept that the popular will is the source of political legitimacy and believe in pluralism and in the alteration of power through free elections, these are the some of the key foundations that the idea of democracy. like Islam democracy is characterized by the struggle against the abuse of power. Democracy is just a set of positive principles, that anyone can adopt and adapt. It is an idea that Muslims and somalis can discover, grasp, and craft what we like out of it, and samatar five points are just his principles. Clearly as jac was quick to point out there are distinct differences between liberal democracy and Islam mainly that (liberal democracies, individuals are sovereign but in Islam). Islamism does not automatically prevent active cooperation with western ideas and Quran does not give any fixed system or machinery of government to follow hence we are responsible for the salvation and well being of our families, and communities. And if this means ( Modernization) cultivate the sciences, or institutions then we should and it does not even require no one political ideology.

^^^No just being a "man" does not qualify as romance. So pray tell what is so romantic about simply being a man?
  16. Why were you spying on them for? If he told you, then why are you friends with a guy who cannot keep his sheekoin to himself. I have no idea, you will have to ask her what she meant.

AAliyah, yep, I stand with my back firmly against the wall. I go there to say, hey look i came, congrats, then the rest of the night I’m dying to go home. lol Nehanda, I could not agree more, why waste all that money and stress over bunch of people who will just talk about you. What do you do that is tons of fun?? The only dance I enjoy watching is when the old ladies jump and hop around, and they always form a such tight circle, it is impossible to see anything (not to mention the consent screaming, amusa, diibi uu duuruka, sacabka gaaracaa) and even the bride cannot see what they are doing. I don't eat wedding food. So in general I find weddings an unnecessary parade of beauty. Speaking of Ibti, I tried to reclaim it the other day, only to be told that it has been reserved by another member. I mean how dare they? lol
  21. ^lool^ what on earth! lol Buuxo, you are worse than the one barid bixise, What will she do with a donkey? lol
  22. Hang on, I think I'm confused, people call their side kick Garacis?? I could swear that means beating the hell out of someone?? nooh lool @qofti nooh, that could mean anyone.

I have gone to three so far and I have four more to go this year, I think all my friends had a meeting and decided to have their weddings one after another!. Jac: I doubt it, I will always hate weddings and the first day of the week. I feel lost in both.
  24. ^^^he is Africa, and although his life style maynot have been African since he become "British" I think Africans are more able to run long distances faster than non Africans in general(although the Russains are sometimes really good)and they train harder.

    I Hate....!

Right now, I hate Weddings, weddings, more weddings and the whole wedding season. (Does anyone feel like they have been repeatedly beaten over the head the morning after the wedding? ) I'm tired of Smiling, endless kisses and saying hello to people you have not seen for years and answering the same questions all night (how are you, the family, who is with you etc) I hate helping out, (hey can you help give the food/drinks out  ) Oh and can you believe Dirca's go out of fashion? What is all that about. How do people get to weddings? And why can they never go back home using the same means they used to get there in the first place? At 1pm people will be like daaka yaa guurayah? Finally I hate Mon & Wed.
