^^^Yes you are. Often people assume that if they convince you it is good to love you parents, you will suddenly and magically start to love them. You cannot convince someone to love their parents. They either do or they don't. Often if the parent has been absent in the childhood, in combination with painful memories or abandonment, it will only be natural to resent him as an adult o even question him. To be honest he has no right to demand parental treatment since as he was never there for them or assumed the father role. Providing the sperm does not absolve him of parenthood. In saying that it is good for her as an individual both mentally and psychological to let go of the past and try her best to do her duty as his child. Otherwise it will affect her whole life, her views of men, trust, love etc. Her father will be questioned for his neglect and unfairness to his wife, kids and the responsibility he did not fulfill, therefore she should try her best to observe her Islamic duties and be kind and helpful to him. She’ll probably never love him as much as most people love their fathers, but spending time with him, may foster some understanding and mutual respect if nothing else. I personally think haad she is a bit pis*sed off and emotional hence the outburst, but seen as she is qoof deen taa gaarisa, she will see her error. That’s my 2cent.

^^^I'm not worried for myself, rather as I said, that it has emerged in my family within the last 6months and I'm still trying to cope with it, part of that is understanding its trends. something that was alien to us, has suddenly become a major topic in our household. I’m just wondering out loud…don’t mind me.

^^^YEah Alhumdulilah. Can you shed light to why we see a lot more cases now days, compared to previously.
-
Maskiin. May Allah have mercy on him and his soul rest. There days I have been meeting a lot of people with some form of cancer or another. In the last year within my own family there has been three cases. What is going on with these disease that never use to affect our community before, or is it that people are now diagnoses and aware of what they are suffering from?
-
^^^Loool. Indeed it is. Che it is the water.

^^Coool, have fun. Ngonge: I know him, he use to come around, We went to his funeral, and his dad was there, his mum use to send tapes from Somali to us and he use to come and collect it. Did not really know many Somali's from what I remember. Everyone was saying that his GP hide the diagnosis from him until it was too late for treatment. Allah haa uu naaxaristo. but if that is the case they should take him to court, damn him Did he leave kids behind, I remember we went back home to marry.

^^Logically yes, but you as an individual cannot take someone out of the fold of Islam, if they are not practicing, the Culamah say that if the person, believe in Allah and Mohammed and the revelation, but is not practising out of laziness or whatever reason other than disbelieve, we cannot say they are not a Muslim. If I remember correctly there are two ways of going out of the fold of Islam, both require intention. but allah knows best, I will try and dig up the evidence if I get time inshallah. But I agree, the essence of Islam is practicing.
-
^^YEp a whole mini bar. I've played with it a bit, if you cannot still see the pick, PM me your e-mail I will send it to you. Urban, I have not forgotten the promise I made, to find you something, I just have not found the right thing yet.
-
^^If someone does not believe in God for whatever reason, they are free to say so, they have no shame in front of Allah and deny his existence, why would you expect him to fear you (as a human) or be embarrassed to tell you?) It is a perfectly valid declaration to make, people have the right to disbelieve and declare their disbelieve. Being Somali does not equate being a Muslim P.s. I think you guys are jumping the gun a bit, he said he does not practise Islam anymore, nothing about I don't believe in Islam anymore. It is the same as saying I am a non practising Muslim (I know it makes no sense, because the essence of Islam is practice in its nature) but you would not say that this person in a no longer a Muslim would you?
