  1. I've just watched the live broadcast of the UN-Summit of 2005 and the speech delivered by Somalia's foreign minister Abdullahi Sheikh Ismael, who gave a passionate and long appeal to the UN to not to abondon and leave the Somali people in the state they are.

He urged them not to be bystanding passive onlookers to the conflict of Somalia and to further support the political process and dialogue and reconcilation that is taking place in Somalia.

Although his speech was hastedly and some of the people looked annoyed with him nevertheless this begins a new page in the history of our country.

Let's hope that the International community really listens to what we've to say.

Anyway much respect to the foreign minister for representing his country and people.

  2. Uchi iga raali ahow if I said something that has upset you. I know the level of education of Mr Faroole who is also my adeer. I've seen his CV and in fact my father knows him a great deal aswell.

Iam also aware that certain branches of the Faroole family live in Australia. So don't take my criticism at heart because ilmo adeero baanu nahay waana la is yaqaanaa dee. Garoowana qof iiga xigtaa ma jirto ileen waxaa magaaladda wada dagan waaba anaga ciise riyoolaha(majority).

Anyhow coming back to the corruption issue, we all know what Faroole did during the administration of Cabdullahi Yusuf and Maxamed Cabdi Xaashi when he was "Wasiirka Maaliyada". A guy who last year returned from Puntland after living there said that Faroole was famous in the whole of Puntland for his character.

On the other hand he said "Cabdirixmaan Faroole dhan baa xaraan ka samaysan" because of taking public money/funds to further his career. Even Allpuntland.com gave an affirmation that Faroole might win the election in their election analysis of Puntland because he enjoyed superior money-spending because of his years as the "finance minister". He bought enough votes to prevent Maxamed Cabdi Xaashi to get president even in Sanaag where the majority voted for Faroole for no apparent reason except that he gave them some bribery. He didn't even campaign outside Garoowe, which was at the time described as a new innovative way of persuiting an election victory.

Also he took full advantage of the Maxamed Siyaad Barre regime where he was helped by his brother who also gave him an opportunity to study in Lebanon and other countries.

Faroole doesn't have any leadership qualties and I wouldn't certainly like to see him in office, although he is the closest to me clanwise but I prefer Maxamed Cabdi Xaashi and Cadde much more although they're not close to me like my adeer Cabdiraxmaan Faroole.

Yoonis? Where did you get that info from? I think it is just my like my silly assertion about the "Holly Trinity".

I think so sophist certainly it was the trigger and very thought provoking, just remembered me of the southern somali proverb "Marna Rashiid baa, Marna Risaaq miyaa, inta kale rooti baa.

Furthermore, I don't understand why a moron like Gaagaab is the minister of Finance, while Faroole was the General Manager of the Somali Commercial Bank.

Sky I understand why it is because of his previous deeds that's why. He can't be trusted and in fact the majority of the wasiirs under Abudullahi Yusuf's reign are all corrupt. But Faroole did his best abuse and at the same time benefited from his ministerial portofolio.

You misunderstood me. I said if this charade of Cadde continues, than even bring back Yeey if there is the need.

But you claim Cadde is a man of development.

Cadde is a man of development because of his actions, the new airport is a good start. One will be credited with his actions and Cadde is certainly someone who walks the walk instead of talking the talk.

he doesn't have a "General" or "Colonel" preciding his name. Only in Somalia will you find career military men and militia leaders who hold more prestige than the educated civilian class. That, my friend, is disgusting!

No one is singing for Faroole.

That's excatly what you're doing. You want Faroole in office don't deny it. You get too emotional about these things beside you cannot accuse me of tribal baised because Reer Nugaal baan ahay.

Nacnacdii Caasha Gheele baad na dhex keentay. Listen kid, this "deal" you speak of is a mystery created by those who hate a certain sub-sub-clan in Puntland (common denominator between Cadde & Cabdullahi).

Galkacyo and Boosaaso are both multi-clan cities. Boosaaso, for example, is the most heterogenous(clan-wise) Somali city in the North. So, what clan can claim it? None! Your argument bears no fruit - furthermore, you must consider the elders and intellectuals of Puntland who took part of the 1998 Garoowe Conference for fools, if they ever signed on to such a deal!

Do you think that I would despise my own people, hell no!!! So your argument doesn't hold up because I was only challenging a "perception" and a "remark" of certain perspectives.

I did not conclude that it was right, good, wrong or applaudable in any way. I was only giving an inside of certain perceptions.

  3. Baashi Innadeer, wise words indeed we've to look at the bigger picture and what is at stake here. We should also avoid negative and destructive arguments and counterarguments and wait until the President addresses the parliament and the people of Puntland. "Seef labood mala noqodo" after we've seen it then we can comment on the deal singed in Dubai. Walaalyaal dacaayadda ha la iska daayo.

  4. That's rubbish and should be null and void, good Yoonis!

Walaal Xiinfaniin, I wholehearted agree with your above statement. All I wanted to achieve is only to varify a perception. Do you think that I'm only content with the "caasimadda", for that matter I believe that the people are equal and therefore everyone could get elected regardless of what tribe he(note no she)comes from.

I want Islamist parties rise in the region and mullahs come out of their hiding holes. But that is, of course, a dream of my own.

Very intersting. However I'd like to see a new unelected assembly of saints or a majlisu shuuraa as the upper house of the Puntland State of Somalia's parliament. This unelected assembly of saints would be overlooking the legislation passed by the legislature (lower house, Goolaha Wakiilada)and act as the executive. The unelected house should be made up by the well respected Culumaaudiin such as the likes of Sheikh Cabdulqaadir Nuur Faarax Gacmay and Sheikh Dahir Cabdi.

Anyhow I would recommend all of you reading the constituition of the Puntland State of Somlia, which you can find here Dastuurka 'Puntland

  5. You're right bro. At the election I and in fact the majority of the people I knew and who even hailed from the sub-sub clan of Yeey were saying that it's Reer Sool's turn. We were all supporting H.E. Maxamed Cabdi Xaashi, the former president of Puntland State of Somalia.

But the problem was that Yeey already promised it to Cadde if he was to be elected and lifted to become the President of Somalia.

Originally Puntland was established under the following leadership.

Reer Mudug and Bari would get Presidency

Reer Sool Vice President, Wasiiru Daakhiliya.

    Reer Sanaag Wasiirul Khaarijiya

    Reer Nugaal Caasimadda

    Reer Goldogob "Kaalumaysii"

Reer Bari+Sanaag (Reer Karin would get something else)

That's how "Beelaha" Puntland ku heshiiyeen.

  6. Sky one time you're saying that Yeey runs the show behind the scenes and at another times you cry for the same Yeey who in his reign did not even build one school or another infrastructure that could be attributed to him. He only build the national forces "the daraawiish" to protect the Puntland State of Somalia from the destruction, civil war and chaos of the south and anyone who dares to challenge us military. Any way I'm glad to see the back of ina yeey.

May he never return to our beloved Puntland. I agree with you that primarily Yeey's role is that of a harden military man, who in my eyes can pacify the south because he's got the experience, knowledge and he understands the fundamentals of the game called somali politics. With his charm, dirty tricks he can manage and outsmart the opposition he currently faces.

On the contrary Cadde is a man of development he loves the country and wants to enrich it during his reign and be remembered to be the father of the modern economical and developed force of puntland like the deceased Amir of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is remembered and loved for.

If you had have analyst what I've written more carefully you'd acknowledge that I'm not endorsing any arguments nor taking sides all I'm saying is wait and be patience. We'll see what this people are, their finances but for now we don't no nothing about the so-called "gentlemen's agreement" that thye had signed a couple of weeks ago.

Have you ever asked yourself the question why Faroole who went with the president to Nairobi to get a signature of PM Gheedi so that they could make a deal with that same Australian company he's villafying right now? What has changed? Did he not get his "share"? Or was he simply outsmarted by Gaagaab and hence the money went into Gaagaab's trousers instead of Faroole's.

Don't try to portray Faroole as a saint who cares about the people of Puntland and the land. He's renowned for in the whole of Puntland for being someone who does not respect anyone. In fact he and Cadde insulted the PM in Nairobi because he's refused to sign the contract they were about to sign with the Australian company registered in the Maldives.

Let's not get emotional about this things because I believe that Cadde is a good man who wants the best for the country but at the same time people like Faroole and Gaagaab are telling him different stories. Cadde is very upset because he believes that Gheedi refused the deal because he doesn't want Puntland to prosper that's what Gaagaab and Faroole were telling him but that's not true Gheedi is saying "the world is a cruel place where people cannot be trusted, he's simply saying let's wait and check the company out before you sign that deal.

The message here is that we should not get emotional with this issues/unresolved matters, we should think with our minds and not hearts. We all want Puntland to prosper but at the same time we've be carefull who we're dealing with and entrusting our future, children's future and livlihoods with.

By the way Faroole will not become President of Puntland because only reer Mudug and Bari can become Presidents and Faroole is from the Nugaal so he doesn't qualify.

  7. What makes you believe that Mr Meier and Co are the same as the people who Cadde made business with and signed an agreement with a couple of weeks ago and that the whole thing is a con?

Let's wait and see when the president returns back home ileen patience is a virtue that's what I've excatly liked to see from the Hogaanka Sare ee Puntland anyhow let's see when Cadde actually comes back.

Nevertheless I believe that you didn't in particular like or favoured Cadde Muuse in the first place. You always try to portray the President in a bad light. I believe that General Cadde is in fact a man who loves his country and who would do anything for it but I also believe that this time he was talked into something that frankly we don't know much off.

But one thing is sure that Cadde is determined to make Puntland a haven for peace, political stability and economical development what ever the cost. He's obsessed like a certain Mr Tony B. is obsessed enter into the history books and to be hailed as one of the greatest leader of his time. Allow him don't hate on the President that's all I've to say to you.

  9. This people who are meeting in Baraawe which by the way is also occupied do not represent the "Jubboyinka" because they do not have the mendate of the local people which is essential for someone who wants to establish a federal state.

How can a thief meet another thief in a occupied city, which does not belong to them, to discuss a proposal of how to legitimise the stolen goods and properties and to further discuss how they are going to share the looted properties with each other, isn't that a joke in itself.

  10. The speaker is not someone with a political agenda of his own but rather a confused and weak guy who doesn't know how to say "No" to his master Qanyare.

Everywhere he goes there seems to be controversy in the air. What do you expect of a "khat merchant" anyway.

Shariff doesn't represent the somali people and he will soon close/cut his ties with the criminal outlaws who occupied our beloved capital city for so long and who reduced it to scrubble. Inshallah Moqadisho will return to its long gone glory soon.

  11. Wind believe me bro, I've heard of him before,Oct 2004 as you put it.

I like him because of his resolve to see a better somalia. He's seen through the fake propoganda of the criminal natured folks who occupy Moqadisho.

He alliened himself with the president because he has been "tricked" or because of bribery given to him but for the simple reason that he he's starving and longing for "dowladnimo", which the Qanyare's, Yalaxow's and Caato's vigorously want to prevent of happening.

History will remember this guy of his courage to support the government by hosting them in his town. If that is not ehelnimo, somalinimo iyo jeceyl uu uqabo inay dowladan hirgasho ma garanayii waxay kale ee tahay oo ulajeedad kale uu kaleeyahay.

I only say look at the state of Jowhar, how peaceful, lovely and a good place it is to be for the ministers, diplomats and government. Can you think of another city where there is such harmony, love and kaladabeyn ay ka jirto. The ministers leave the restaurants in the hotel without having any bodyguards and without having to fear anyone.

The police in Jowhar have police sticks instead of AK 47's before the government arrived to ensure the safety of the city.
