  1. Xaaji you're right Somalia didn't exist 100 years ago or 70 years for that matter. Our culture our customs our language have existed in the region for God knows how many years though. The Somali people Are a homogenous people. Where else in Africa besides the northern Arabs, can you travel thousands of miles across coastline, hinterlands, semi desert, jungles and plains, to find the same language spoken. Yea sure with a change of accent depending on where you are. Xaaji to answer you're question, the root of our problem is lack of resources.

I respect the fact you hail from a region intent on separation, here you are going against you're Kin I assume. For that you get my utmost respect.
  3. Water is the underlying issue here, I've made this correlation before with friends and family, and I honestly think the lack of access to water is the biggest issue in Somalia. What if we can harness the river water in the south and construct man made rivers directed to the parched northern regions?
  4. Mukulaalow I think you're absolutely correct. I've always asked this question: would qabil be a factor if every single Somali household had running water, electricty, 24/7 energy access with the flip of a switch. Would we care which tribe our neighbors hailed from, if we both had good paying jobs, access to good schools for our kids?
  5. Thanks for the cordial welcome Xaaji, I've been following Sol long enough to know where you stand brother.
  6. Lmao I'm assuming you're a guy too Mukulaalow. Honestly the whole qabil thing isnt as complex as people make it out to be. It's all economics or a lack there of in our case.
  7. Mukulaalow Thanks walaal I'm a guy I probably should have made that clear huh. Thanks for the warm welcome
  8. I would like to take the time to introduce myself to this forum. I've been a long time follower, first time active poster. I read some of your posts regularly, and I've become familiar with who's who amongst you all. Its obvious Qabyalad has permeated through every facet of our society, even our online communities. Soo I'd like to first and foremost Pledge to you all that I will not discuss or debate with any mirqan desert dweller about his or her tribe or tribal affiliations. I won't divulge which tribe or region I come from, because it matters little. I pledge to the dignity of the Somali people regardless of tribe, region, accent, I pledge to the dying women and children in refugee camps all over Africa. I pledge to the thousands of my brothers and sisters drowning in the gulf of Aden trying to escape the misery in our homeland only to be enslaved on their arrival. I plan on discussing issues that can unite us, economically and spiritually. I know this forum is filled with like minded individuals, where y'all at?
