  1. Geelle hit the nail on the head. Dad aan af somaali aqoon ayaa ku leh 'Islam is a foreign import'.
  2. The only way we will be in the CL next year is if we win the Uefa Cup (I refuse to call any other name).
  3. Agreed. First rated him back in 04 when Dhino joined and they narrowly missed out on La Liga. Along with Deco and Iniesta they had a great midfield.

  5. When you actually try to understand what you're opposing instead of going by youVe read in various western media let us know. Ailamos, in my haste and skim reading I actually thought you attempted answering my question. You haven't. Your hesitation is understandable as you and I both know you've chosen to be rather selective in your comparisons. Runta maxaad u qarinaysa?
  6. red herrings galore ailamos. Will respond when time permits.
  7. I'm better off making statements I can't back up with a half decent explaination so maaha Che? I still hold out hope that you will one day stop being a peripheral rabbit puncher.

As Ailamos pointed out, we're practicing Islam since its beginnings, why do you've the impulse to import foreign cultural faults into our life's and call it a religion. A contradictory statement lol. Waxba islama haysaan.
  9. Tuujiye, The only I have taken seriously so far is JB. Kuwa kale waxba islama hayaan. Che, the Irish
  10. Saxibayaal, meesha wax la kaaleya. Secular states are also in a mess as well as being hypocrits ya ailamos.

    moving out

B, He has a point. Why move out when you don't need to? Look at the mess you got yourself into.
  15. What is wrong with the Arab model of Islamic state?
  16. Originally posted by Khayr: Interesting discussion and the only with some clarity is Maaddey. The point of contention is: - the whole Idea of an American Idol style poetry contest in the muslim world? - Insulting muslims and the ulama on T.V. and being applauded for it (it is a sign of fusuq and not iman). The first point is irrelevant. Such competitions have been going on for hundreds of years. Now it is more global and there is NOTHING wrong with it (the competition itself). The second point is where there is a discussion. Firstly, she didn't insult Muslims. Secondly, she criticised a sheikh for issuing a fatwa. The sheikh clarifies his fatwa and states that it was misinterpreted/misunderstood. Would he have done that if she didn't criticise it? Like I already said, some sheikhs bring criticism onto themselves and their fellows by issuing ambiguous fatwas in the first place and not doing anything to limit the ensuing confusion/criticism. They are, in many cases, more blame worthy than the any ensuing bandwagons.
  17. If they made their fatwas available for people to read for themselves on a blog/website it would be the source. People would go to the source instead of going with how the media play it. This would remove any doubts/confusion people have. If they disagree they disagree but at least they know exactly what the fatwa contains. It would take a while for people to stop listening to the media and go straight to the source but it would change things big time. The other thread I agreed with you. This is more about the shiekhs pre-empting/limiting confusion/criticism. At the moment its open season and they have only themselves to blame. PR training ayey u baahanyihiin.
  18. ^Fair enough. The shiekhs also need to do more to make sure their message is not twisted. A blog/website would clarify things no?
  19. This guy has been playing well all season. Alot better than Carlton Cole, Emile Heskey and Darren Bent. He would be the perfect folly for Rooney and/or Defoe. Get him on that plane Fabio!
  20. Had a feeling this thread would be at the top today.
  21. ^The Shiekh brought it on himself for issuing such an ambigious fatwa. He later clarified his position. The shiekhs need training in minimising any confusion their fatwas may create. When they don't bother and that fatwa goes from one media outlet to another to internet forums etc you can't blame people for asking questions and being confused.
  22. OK, Sky News' wall to wall coverage of the Tory campaign is annoying. I'm back to AJE and 'real' news.
  23. LoL@Ngonge We tend to give people the benefit of doubt, initially. But you're right this is getting tedious now. This reminds me of when I used to rent a place off an old Somali seaman in E London. Naftuu ii keeney. He wanted to increase the rent after two months hungurigu. I had to move out soon afterwards.
  24. Khayr, Are you saying she has no right to express her feelings?
