[ his clan will see it as victimization], I just hope he disappears to Dubai or somewhere he can enjoy his loot with condition he stays away from Somali governance for good. His clan deserves to be represented by educated, competent and corruption free politicians. [ A remedy for all Somali clans]

I guess you are right. It could indeed be viewed as selective justice... I just can't wait for the day when punishing a tuug like Shariif Sakiin won't be viewed as a flagrant affront against the tuug's clan.

Seriously, these guys must come up with a plan that is not merely based on opposing the politics of Puntlanders or else they will be playing catch-up for the rest of their lives. Those that oppose Puntland politics in Somalia should set the agenda by coming up with candidates that exhibit a degree of political acumen and, of-course, better policies!

Yes I know he is not running, nor is he a member of the parliament. But even the creme of somali intellectuals in SOL have forsaken all intellectual responsibility and have turned into cheerleaders of clan candidates, maybe it is time I pick mine too. Abwaan is campaigning for either Faramaajo or Dr. Bidaar or something along that line simply because he is from the same clan. General Duke and all the Puntlanders (as usual- as I said before because their plurality is singularity) are for Abdiweli. Ooba Hiloowlow is for Sheikh Sharif, but the south guys are at least a bit more reticent in showing their clanishness openly. Maaddeey is for Abdi Qaybdiid. So, what is the use of debating who is supporting who in the impending election?

So, having seen all the drama, the ugly somaliness, I hereby endorse His-Ignorance-AlHaji-Terrorist-General Axmed Maxamed Islaan (Axmed Madoobe), also known as General Aar-goosato, for President of Somalia. Viva Tolka! Somaliyeey toosoo for hoodwinking!

    Abtigiis

Abtigiis, I will second that endorsement only if we nominate him for presidency of The Somali National Association of the Purveyors of Caanoboore, Malaay and Digir. Don't you think he'd be the perfect candidate or should we leave that post for yours truly? lol

  4. Why does it seem like the more the voting for a permanent government takes place in Mogadishu, the quicker their shenanigans and claptrap about secession has come to an abrupt end on this forum?

Could this augur that what is happening in Xamar deeply distresses the continued fulfillment of their wishful delusions about recognition? Or could it foretell that they are silently hoping that the new federal government, that will be based in Mogadishu, does indeed succeed so as to finally plead for their fair share of the federal pie?

    Discuss!

Rumor has it that once an effective court system is established in Somalia, he will be prosecuted for stealing large sums of monies during his tenure as Speaker.

Although I am against any sort of witch-hunt once a new Somali regime comes into being-- for forgiveness, reconciliation and trust building amongst the Somali people is the way to go-- I feel it wouldn't hurt any Somali, should it turn out that the embezzlement allegations are true; I strongly believe Sharif Sakiin must become the one exception to the no-witch-hunt rule and made to lie on his filthy bed as he has made it through fraud and abject knavery.

Tillamook...I think you don't understand the real meaning of backward mentality...cause if you do your talk wouldn't be full of that. I do not want to deny what the man can and did achieve but one has to shed a light of his clanish favoritism, this video is one of the evidences. If you cannot see that what more can you?

Why can people not discuss of what he said? Other than attacking those who posted it?

It is a moot point that Gaas is allegedly clannish, but on the argument that the more that is seen of it the more Abwaan should use his own clan loyalty to oppose him, irregardless of his governance abilities is shocking and it must be-- for nothing can ever justify opposing him because he purportedly favors his immediate kinsmen. Oppose him, only if you are sure he will not make an effective President using facts about his previous record in government.

Once again Abwaan, it's time you helped midwife a new Somalia and end this churlish finger-pointing about who is clannish and who is not. It's time we moved forward.

  7. Abwaan;861978 wrote:
It means I know better than those of you who are supporting him because he is tolka.
    :D

So are you insinuating all of Gaas's supporters are from his tol? By Golly, I believe the dude's tol must be as numerous as the stars in the Heavenly firmament. lol

Mr. Abwan, sir, Somalia today is at a very critical juncture and we all want to move our country forward, so please stop this backward mentality that has become a trademark of yours on these threads!

    p.s

I am not justifying those that support Gaas solely to please their clan deamons(they too are all full of sh!t)

..... and I know him as a former neighbor that is the difference here.

And what does him being a neighbor of yours got to do with anything?

Gaas is a breath of fresh air and needs to be given a chance to continue his program to save the people from the lawlessness that has left our country butting around in the doldrums for many a year.

You give them too much credit sxb. They are not lead by 21st century Rommel with a beard. They are a bunch of Macaalin dugsis who benefited from the wide support and trust of the Somali people (hence their early successes).
They've lost that now and there is no strategy which can bring it back.

    Yes there is.

They must first desist from killing and maiming the Somali people. Secondly, they must renounce violence and have dialogue with whichever government comes to being in the coming weeks.

Peace and stability throughout Somalia is the quickest for all foreign forces to leave our soil. But then again, Al Shabab get their marching orders from rich Arabs in the middle east so ultimately they will never embrace cessation of hostilities against the Somali people.

yes you are wrong big time. It is not about where Saado and Co are from, but rather how were they were selected. Why would Faroole (a man who is clearly anti-Khaatumo) select on behalf of reer Khaatumo?? He does not represent Khaatumo State or reer khaatumo. He is the president of puntland and represents reer puntland. Therefore, he is only entitled to choose the seats that are for reer puntland.

That is not hard to understand is it? But, as Duke and co most of you are happy about that. Since, you lot think it will assist you in getting the presidential position as Duke pointed out earlier. Sadly, many of you have no morals.

But still, what prove do you have that Saado won't have the interest of this khaatmo people you speak of? Surely, you of all people cannot say Saado's political agenda will not be kosher with regards to her people, no matter Faroole campaigned for her inclusion in the new national parliament.

The Death of Meles Zenawi can be an opportunity for a new beginning

    ONLF Statement

    21-08-2012

The death of the Ethiopian dictator may usher a new era of stability and peace in Ethiopia and in the Horn as a whole. Meles Zenawi’s administration has caused unimaginable suffering to the Ocaden people, far beyond any of his predecessors. He has also played great role in creating conflicts and instability in the Horn of Africa in order to perpetuate his regime’s dominance and hegemony of the region.

The Ocaden National Liberation Front may consider this as an opportunity for the succeeding Ethiopian regime to initiate a new era of peace, stability, freedom and justice for the people of Ocaden and not to pursue the failed policies of the past.

ONLF will continue to struggle for the rights of the Ocaden people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination. ONLF will also work with any progressive open-minded opposition forces who are ready to recognize the rights for self-determination for all nations and nationalities.

Finally, ONLF calls upon the international community to promote democracy and freedom in Ethiopia rather than backing a dictatorship.

    Ocaden National Liberation Front.

    Nothing but a fangles snarl.

Gaalka dil gartiisana sii. Whatever your views on the man there is no denying that he was one helluva shrewd operator. Meles presided over 20 years of politically stable Ethiopia the last 10 years witnessing a remarkable economic growth. For that he deserves plaudits. Yes, he was cruel autocrat who spared no mercy in repressing desent to stay in power and get his way. But lets not delude ourselves that the demise of Meles will usher in an era of peace and prosperity for Somalis. Somalia's problems transcend Meles.

    I agree.
