  1. Bilaa Nuxur, iska hadal maandhey! *EDITED* Anigoo ku xushmaynaya *Blessed!
  2. This reminds me of the man who said during the 77 war 'Hubkey maanta wadato waa mid aan wadaagnaaye' What a shame - the men who used to plough the fields of Beerta Dowlada near Afgooye in their humiliating white shirts and shorts today roam free at that very spot and on top of that dictate its inhabitants. If not for this incredibly incompetent pseudo-government of ours, No living or dead soul of a scrawny Ethiopian would be seen on Somali Soil. Their bodies, decapitated and decaying would be dragged through a culvert to rot in their cesspit! nothing less...
  3. Subxanllah! I have heard of several stories as this one. Have you heard of the Yemeni professor who dissected his female pupils and sold their body parts? he was caught at the airport carring a case containing a human heart and that's when he divulged the story. His victims included one Somali girl. In Bosaaso as well as in hargeysa it is a common trend to snatch kids and sell them to foreign agencies.
  4. ^^^Re-read what I wrote - not selectively.

Hawdgirl, he did kill many people, but whether they were innocent or guilty is another matter. Listen to his Gabay's and Gabay's from his generation and you'll have a better understanding of the Sayyid and his times.
  10. Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. Every afternoon, when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite details, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine this picturesque scene. One warm afternoon, the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band - he could see it in his mind ' s eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days, weeks and months passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window besides the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, 'Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.' Epilogue: There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can ' t buy. 'Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present.'

A sad story indeed, though i believe Mr Rageh omaar didn't handle this too well. The wealth of informarion and opinion we gave him at that talk inside Moolwich Mosque wasn't boradcast. Much of what we said was filtered and selectively processed to fit with his theme...

  19. I would love to do that and insha-Allah when time permits me I will make a move - somewhere in Asia or Africa. I would love to open a school in Somalia but it is hard to find the resources and like-minded enthusiasts. How do you go about it grasshopper?
  20. I doubt any school can match the Somali Madarassa. You don't learn your Qur'an you get tied Haven't you experienced the ultimate torture of Qanjiiriya where scrawny stuents along with the Kabiir pounce on you and pinch and peel your skin off. Or that of Jinac in your clothes. Or that of being hanged upside down from the ceiling, stripped of your shirt and the lashes cut a swathe through your skin! And when you come home, it is obvious that you have been beaten so your mother, or guardian, instead of tending to your bruises picks up a Radio cable chord and inflicts a pain you shall never forget for many years to come.... Ya akhi North... iga daa heedhe jidhkaa i damqanaya e!

  22. ^^ What is the suggestion then Isseh? i agree, people covet what is forbidden, but, in all honesty, issues to tackle/curb the drug must be enforced.
  23. Great News! Would I be compensated for all the lashes i endured along with the subsequent psychological trauma? I can prove this in court...
  24. Underdog, this discussion has now reached its zenith - we are arguing in circles from this point forward and regurgitating the same old lines. I am not going to give you statistics or anything of that sort, but here is the general consensus Damage caused by Qat - • disintegrated families • high divorce rates • wives absconding from their husbands because of qat • children lacking supportive parents • children lacking ambitious role models • children with low aspiration levels Benefits the community will get • consciousness/ Damiir • happier mothers • better looked after families • father playing a father’s role in the household • better attainment levels of children if fathers support them • a cohesive and well-glued society The man is at the helm of the household – he steers the boat through the rapid streams and blustery storms – if he is now around to do his job, sometimes it is too difficult for a mother of 8 to manage on her own. And the culprit is mostly – if not always – Qat. Now, lets stop arguing in circles, for we all know the truth. twisting it here and there does not solve the problem.
