A three-day meeting which is aimed at bringing the Somalia Airline back to the skies opens today in Mogadishu, Somali capital. The gathering saw the attendance of State minister for Aviation &  Transport, members of Somalia parliamentary transport committee and former staffers of stalled Somalia Airline. The attendees have exchanged views on the best and easiest way to bring the airline back to air after the absence of more than 26 years starting from the time that the central government of Somalia collapsed in 1991. The government ministers, the parliamentary transport committee and former Airline staffers have come to the conclusion that the public is of great need to the airline services and the vacuum has not been filled as far as the Somalia Airline is concerned. State Aviation and Transport Minister, Hon. Abdirahman Hirsi Kulmiye has reiterated that the ministry has spent much time to return the airline to the skies as the public is of great need to its services.

The State minister has said that the gathering will proceed for three days and will take heed the advice from the former airline workers. Plans are being put forth to bring back the airline back to air although it was a prolonged one which the ministry of aviation and transport has been doing. The Saudi Kingdom pledged to invest the airline to resume its operations although it has been delayed on numerous occasions.
