Somaliland: Protesters Clash with Police over claims of rigged elections

BURAO–Furious men and women on Thursday have held protest in the west of Burao, Togder’s provincial capital. Reports coming from Burao indicate that the protesters have burnt tires in the streets to disrupt the flow of traffic. They have damaged the stalls and smashed several vehicles reports further said. Police deployed are trying to disperse the crowd to prevent further damage. Gunshot could be heard which police fire to disperse the protesters. The protest was instigated by Wadani opposition members claiming that presidential election has been rigged. According to National Electoral Commission (NEC) said in a press briefing that vote counting underway.
