the best thing to do when in such a situation is first take in a deep breathe, Say Audhubillahi Mina shaytani Rajiim. Sit if you were standing for a while till you feel better(the anger , rage disappeared or subdued) or just quickly run to the bathroom take ablution. Shaytan will lose the battle and you will get the dhawab as being patient and in control of yourself. Add a couple of rakats if you like. To thank Allah and ask to curb your anger and control your tongue.

And I know its a tough battle.People tend to think of you as stup1d if you dont counteract there and then but I prefer doing so when all my thoughts are recollected and when the anger, resentment is gone. And with no regrets.

May Allah help you its an attainable character just need practice. Remember when there is will there is a way. And we will be judged by our niyah-intentions.

Fiamanillah
