Factory General Manager Dendena Disasa said yesterday the factory has begun exporting mineral water to Djibouti and Somaliland beginning this Ethiopian year as the samples sent to U.S and Germany proved to meet international standards.

The factory has also been carrying out activities instrumental in boosting production, he said.

Accordingly, it has procured manufacturing machinery at a cost of 1.2 million birr.

This would enable the factory to scale up its annual production of 5-6 million bottles to over seven million bottles and raise its revenue from 10 to 17 million birr, according to Dendena.

Established 66 years ago, the Babile Mineral Water Factory has currently 240 employees, it was learnt.
