Mogadishu (PP News Desk) — The Jewish state has taken steps to spread falsehoods against Somalia’s Federal Minister of Finance, Biixi Iimaan Cige, and the Deputy Prime Minister, Saalax Jaamac. A fake news website, which is not listed in recognised news media directories and calls itself Israeli Mirror, has claimed that Saalax and Biixi were secretly involved in facilitating the unlawful recognition that Israel purportedly granted to the Somaliland administration, a secessionist administration.

An investigation conducted by Puntland Post has revealed that Israel Mirror is a disinformation outlet with no contact details and no verifiable headquarters. Information published on the website claims that Israel Mirror is based in India and is owned by Kyrion Media, a company that does not disclose the location of its headquarters, although Kyrion Media presents itself as a media distribution network.

“Companies of this nature are known as shell companies. Even state intelligence agencies use them to disseminate false information or to masquerade as legitimate businesses,” said a security analyst who spoke to Puntland Post on condition of anonymity. “The primary objective of this network is the dissemination of false news, with the aim of setting Somali politicians against one another, creating mistrust and levelling unfounded accusations against Somali individuals,” the security expert added.

Israeli intelligence services, seeking to divert global attention away from the war crimes committed by Benjamin Netanyahu, are reportedly working intensively to create an atmosphere of division among Somali leaders. This comes at a time when Israel has realised that the unlawful recognition it claimed to have granted to the Somaliland administration has failed, after five countries with veto power rejected Netanyahu’s unlawful proposal,, following an extraordinary meeting held this week by the UN Security Council on the sovereignty of Somalia. Israel has been accused of violating Somalia’s sovereignty after Netanyahu sent a WhatsApp message to the President of the Somaliland administration, Cabdiraxmaan Cabdullaahi. “Israel has recognised Somaliland” Netanyahu said.
