Somaliland President Travels to Qatar for the for official visit to Doha

Somaliland President Hon. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi Irro on Saturday travelled to Qatar on an official working visit after he received a formal invitation from the State of Qatar.

The visit that Somaliland President embarked to Doha is expected to take a couple of days.

It is the first time that a President from Somaliland travelled to Qatar since the inception of Somaliland. The President boarded a special plane.

Somaliland Head of State is accompanied by the ministers of foreign affairs, interior and national security, presidency, religious and endowment, the adviser on economy and the Chief of Staff.

During his stay in Doha, the President and his delegation will hold high level meetings with senior officials of the State of Qatar.

Thy will discuss the mutual interests between the two sides particularly in the areas of security, stability in the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden, Horn of Africa, investment, mutual cooperation, development of infrastructure and social affairs.

The visit that Somaliland President embarked to Qatar represents the commitment of Somaliland President to expedite and enhance the quality of Somaliland’s foreign policy and the active relations that Somaliland has with the int’l community.
