Ataash and Haglatoosiye Denounce Laascaanood Shelling by Somaliland Forces

Hargeisa (PP News Desk) — President of Somaliland Administration Muse Bihi Abdi has faced yet another political setback following the resignations of two politicians from Sool whose political associations were vying for political party status. Saleban Essa Ahmed “Haglotosiye” and Abdirisaq Ibrahim Mohamed “Attash” formed People’s Association and Waaberi respectively.

“I am no longer in politics. I call on Somaliland administration to respect the decisions made by Laascaanood committee and withdraw its forces to Oog” said Ataassh, who followed in the footsteps of Haglatoosiye. “I denounce the indiscriminate shelling of Laascaanood by Somaliland forces. I support the Laascaanood Declaration. I resigned from the Chairmanship of the political association I founded” Haglatoosiye said.

The resignations of Ataash and Haglatoosiye pile more political pressure on President Bihi whose decision to wage a secession war in North Somalia unnerved donors that fund Hargeisa’s security forces. “Muse Bihi reduced himself to a clan warlord who wantonly rejects the sovereignty of Somalia to wage a secession war in the North” said a journalist in Hargeisa who asked for anonymity.
