Galmudug Interior Minister Sacked for ‘Dereliction of Duty”

Abdi Mohamed Jama was sacked for failure to prioritise reconciliation over formation of a district council for Balanbal.

Galkayo (PP News Desk) — Galmudug State Vice President Ali Daahir Eidd yesterday fired the Interior Minister Abdi Mohamed Jama for failure to discharge “his duties”.

The decision to sack Jama was reportedly caused by disagreements over the formation of a district council for Balanbal.

Jama has been accused of expediting the formation of district council without necessary consultations at the district and federal state levels.

“The Minister had failed to implement reconciliation policies for Galmudug State” reads the letter from the Vice President’s Office.

Galmudug State has despatched a delegation to Balanbal to defuse feuding tension following the murder of family members in the district.
