Puntland Government Takes Custody of Two Abandoned Minors

Garowe (PP News Desk) — Puntland State Government has officially taken custody of two girls whom an unidentified woman had abandoned at Garowe Airport.

Puntland Human Rights Office told the local media that the two children under the age of five would be looked after by Puntland Government’s children’s services department.

A local family looked after the two girls before the government resolved to exercise its duty of care towards the children.

Authorities have not disclosed the relationship between the two girls and the women who abandoned them at the airport.
