Deeq A. Posted March 14, 2021 Minister of Interior for the Federal Government of Somalia Mukhtar Hussein Afrah, has met with the Turkish ambassador in Somalia, Mehmet Yilmaz in Mogadishu on Sunday. The two sides discussed ways to further strengthen ties between Somalia and Turkey. Turkish Ambassador to Somalia Mehmet Yilmaz tweeted, “I am pleased to meet with the Somali Minister of Interior. We have discussed bilateral relations and strengthening cooperation between the two countries.” Turkey developed close relations with Somalia in 2011 when Erdogan paid a visit to Mogadishu, becoming the first non-African leader to arrive in the country.
