Car bomb goes off at a hotel in Somali capital

A deafening explosion was heard on Sunday afternoon after a car bomb went off at Afrik hotel in Mogadishu, the Somali capital, police said.

The blast was reported at KM4 junction in the city and heavy gunfire followed, according to the sources within the police.

Details of the casualties remained unknown.
