Posted January 12, 2021 The mayor of Mogadishu Omar Filish has paid a courtesy call to the Turkish ambassador to Somalia Mehmet Yılmaz at the embassy in the capital on Monday. “Pleased to host H.E. Omar Mohamud Mohamed, Mayor of Mogadishu and Governor of Banadir Regional Administration. Appreciate his message of solidarity and condolences for the Turkish workers who lost their lives as a result of the heinous terrorist attack on 2 January,” said Mehmet Yılmaz in a statement. Turkey is a strong supporter of Somalia’s state-building process and has implemented major road projects in the country as part of the efforts to revive the infrastructure.
