Puntland President Chairs Public Finances Reform Meeting

Garowe (PP News Desk ) — The President of Puntland Said Abdullahi Deni yesterday chaired the public finances and local revenue generation reform meeting in Garowe. Puntland Vice President Ahmed Elmi attended the meeting.

The Public Finances and Local Revenue Generation Committee presented data collected from government agencies and local governments in Puntland.

“Public finances reforms and improving government renenues will facilitate the implementation of a centralised treasury and good governance to prevent leakage” reads a statement from Puntland Presidency.

President Deni commended the work of the public finances reform committee, and urged government agencies and local governments to play a role in realising core goals of the initiative such as increasing government revenues.

The Accountant General, the Auditor General and the Attorney General of Puntland attended the meeting.
