Gunmen kill Puntland security officer in Bosaso city

Unknown assailants have shot and killed a security officer in the port city of Bosaso on Sunday, police, and witnesses said.

The gunmen assassinated Farah Mohamed known as Aynab in the city’s downtown and fled from the scene before the arrival of Puntland security forces.

The late officer was in charge of the customs department, according to the police.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the killing, which becomes the latest in a series of attacks in Bosaso, some claimed by Al-Shabaab and ISIS-linked militant group.
