PUNTLAND GOVERNMENT ORDERS CLOSURE OF RELIGIOUS SCHOOLS AND MOSQUES TO PREVENT SPREAD OF COVID-19

Garowe (PP News Desk) — Puntland State Government earlier today issued a decree instructing educational and religious institutions to close religious schools and mosques to prevent spread of Covid-19.

The Puntland Minister for Justice, Constitution and  Religious Affairs Awil Sheikh Mohamud  briefed the media about the mandatory two-week closure of mosques and religious schools in Puntland.

Minister Hamud: Mandatory closure of mosques and religious schools must be complied with

The decree follows the decision reached by Puntland Government to give educational institutions and civil servants a leave to in response to the threat of community transmission of Covid-19.

Puntland State Government urged people no to hold meetings or wedding parties during the fight against the pandemic affecting the world.
