COMMUNIQUE OF PUNTLAND CONSULTATIVE CONFERENCE

The Consultative Conference reaffirmed:

1)  Puntland’s commitment to a United, Democratic and Federal Somalia.

2) It gave a fresh mandate to Puntland leadership to renegotiate  with Somali political stakeholders within the context of Federal governance.

2) It set a new ambitious roadmap to address the grievances among Puntland people.

3) It urged the government to come up with strategy to extend the authority of Puntland to regions it federally represents.

4) It urged the government to hold Elections by the end of its tenure

The outcome of the conference was NOT a predetermined political manifesto. Neither was it an unpopular view of President Said Dani and his team. It is the byproduct of honest deliberations and in-depth conversation of close to 2000 Puntland Intellectuals and traditional leaders who traveled from different corners of the world.
