Deeq A. Posted February 10, 2020 Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi has held talks with the prime ministers of Canada on the sidelines of the AU Summit. The president met with Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The leaders talked about means enhance the bilateral relations of the two countries. “I enjoyed a fruitful discussion with PM @JustinTrudeau on the sidelines of the AU Summit today. We discussed further strengthening the strong bilateral relations between our two sides. @Canada and #Somalia share strong people to people relations and we endeavor to build on this,” Villa Somalia said in a Twitter post. President Farmajo is in Addis Ababa town of Ethiopia to attend the 33rd Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the African Union which is expected to be concluded today. The summit with a theme is the “Silencing the Guns: Creating Conducive Conditions for Africa’s Development” is aiming at achieving a conflict-free Africa, prevent genocide, make peace a reality for all and rid the continent of wars, civil conflicts, gender-based violence, violent conflicts and preventing genocide. The summit is also stressing on the need to accelerate action on mobilizing stakeholders to prioritize efforts on peace and effective socio-economic development in the continent.
