Posted September 29, 2019 Somali Government says it has fully lifted the travel restriction imposed on Kismayo, the interim seat of Jubaland and alerted airlines to start flights to the southern port city. The Somali Civil Aviation Authority said Saturday in a Notice to Airman has last week ordered all airlines to file in a notice 24 hours before departures to Kismayo. The order came a day after ex-President Sheikh Sharif was barred from boarding a plane to Kismayo September 22 ahead of the newly elected Jubaland leader Ahmed Madobe. Jubbaland Government, however, postponed the inauguration from September 26 but did not indicate a new date. This comes amid a political rift between Mogadishu and Madobe.
