  1. This is a few clips I recently stored in my archives of the developments of puntland. Enjoy Somali Broadcasting Coporation (SBC) TV Bossaso. Round-table discussions. http://www.youtube.c om/watch?v=jfMRC3n2v V8 Eastern Television Network (ETN) Tv Bossaso. Weather Channel Telecom Puntland Mubarak Construction Group(They won a contract in march this year to build the new puntland parliament and ministry headquarters(Interna tional Standard), garowe airport and many other business and residential development deals. Ps: And the future is looking excellent also, after-all oil production start at the end of this year or early next year according to oil companies inside the region.
  2. General duke, this is not an attack on the people of galkacyo but it is an issue that needs to be addressed. You can't expect to have guests in your house and treat them in bad way. This is not apart of our culture not religion If you are blind to the fact that galkacyo is the weak spot of puntland, then go see a doctor sxb!!! Galkacyo has got a fresh city admin. Let see what they do about it. I can't wait to give my review on galkacyo in 2013 election of puntland. As for mudug being annexed from puntland, lol take a chill pill sxb i was just kidding. But i want our second largest city in puntland to be a shining example of peace, progress, and development. Not to what has fallen to, and notice it became like this after abdullahi left? its like their only allegiance was to that man and not to the state at all.
  3. Sayyid lets not kid ourselves sxb, cadde muse spoilt karkaar, hell why you think he created karkaar? so funds can be given to the kings separately without it being shared with all bari. The point is, cadde muse did exactly the same thing to mudug, sool, sanaag, and cayn and totally neglected those regions on behalf of nugal (capital) and bossaso and karkaar. Waxaasi ma ficno awoowe iyo xaq illahi ma ahan. We need fair leader who treat all puntland residents fairly with no clan-card discrimination or favouritism. This is in our interest and this is what i support personally. We should never destroy our home thru greed. we saw what that took hamar down to let not repeat the same mistakes. We need to cooperate in a open environment of equality, justice, and freedom. So all ppl of puntland feel apart of the system and not just certain ppl or clans.
  4. Duke noone refuses that qardho is apart of farole domain and our leader is farole and we are very proud of that fact. Anyone who says otherwise is not speaking on the interest of qardho but speaking on their own interests. All the qardho ulama, waxgarads, isimo, etc have pledged their support to puntland and it will remain so forever regardless who the leader is or not.
  5. This is a serious issue that is concerning galkacyo. Something needs to be done by their community to address this disgraceful manner. War miyadan bin-adan ahayn? this city is puntland poorest performing region and most dangerous spot in our region. Some ppl say it can be reformed and I used to be off that crowd, however everyday their something disastrous coming from there. Puntland wa in la tashada. Is it time to reduce puntland to the peaceful states of bari, nugal, sanaag? and annex the wild wild west regions of mudug, sool, and cayn? It seems as if it was a disaster to include reer hawd into the peaceful north-eastern bloc(bari, sanaag, nugaal) Mudug might infact be better off in the same government of galmudug, they have similar attitudes and behaviour standards. Sool and cayn can create their own little dervish state. Maybe it is time to have another garowe conference like 94 except in 2009 it will be review of each state and using comparison model seeing if it is worth the hassle of carrying that state in our region.
  6. SOMALIA: Instead of a safe haven, fear and rape in Galkayo. Exhausted by the violence in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, Asha (not real name) fled to Galkayo in the self-declared autonomous region of Puntland, believing her family would be safer there. Until a week ago, when she was attacked near the displaced people's camp that is her new home in Galkayo while collecting firewood to sell. "It was around 11am [local time] when three men with guns raped me," the 35-year-old mother of five said. "They held a gun to my head and they took turns to rape me." Asha tried to plead with the men but they would not listen. "I wish I never left Mogadishu," she explained. "At least there, I was never raped." Asha is just one of the growing cases of sexual violence in such camps, according to Hawa Aden Mohamed of Galkayo Education Centre for Peace and Development (GECPD), an organization that helps internally displaced people (IDPs). "Apart from a lack of basic needs, the displaced women also have to deal with the constant fear of rape,” she said, adding that it was becoming one of the biggest security concerns for women in Galkayo. "It has reached epidemic proportions and needs to be addressed as a matter of utmost urgency," Mohamed told IRIN on 23 September. Her centre was providing counselling and medical help. It recently held a workshop and invited traditional elders, religious leaders and security officials to discuss the issue. The workshop intended to make opinion makers and the police aware that "this is a major problem faced not only by the displaced but also the ordinary citizens of Galkayo", said Mohamed. Almost all the IDPs are Muslims and rape is taboo in Islam. Following the workshop, Muslim preachers took to the mosques to denounce the incidences of rape in the town, said Mohamed. Hawo Aden, a resident of Ajuuran IDP camp, one of the largest in Galkayo, told IRIN that in the past two months, eight women had been raped in her camp alone. "It is happening in every IDP camp," she said. The rape usually happens when the women go out to collect firewood or grass to supplement their meagre income. However, "in the last month or so, the rapists came into the camp at night and took women by force", she added. Mohamed told IRIN the judicial and law enforcement system in Galkayo was not capable of dealing with the problem. As a result, civil society organizations were trying to involve the ordinary public. "We will keep shouting from the rooftops until we succeed in eliminating rape," she added. Legal hurdles The Galkayo police chief, Col Muse Hasasi, told IRIN his force was treating sexual violence like any other crime. "We get a complaint, we investigate and arrest the culprit," he said. Local journalists, however, said rape victims rarely reported attacks due to fear that they may be victimized a second time. "There is simply no mechanism for reporting [rape]," one local journalist explained. "If a woman went to the police to report an attack, first she faces ridicule and secondly, she is then asked to pay for the expense of holding the attacker in police custody, and these are people who cannot afford to feed themselves." Asha said she was considering returning to Mogadishu. "As soon as I have enough money for transport I will return," she added. "I don't care if they kill me." Source: irinnews.org
  7. Nairobi — The government says that it has sealed off its borders with Somalia following intensified fighting in the war-torn country. Coast Provincial Commissioner Ernest Munyi says that the region's border was secure although there was still a challenge from the insurgency that is being blamed on rival armed groups, especially the rebel Islamic group Al-Shabab. Mr Munyi also said that cross border trade between Kenya and Somalia either through the land or sea was being discouraged due to the escalating violence. The PC who was speaking during a courtesy call by French ambassador to Kenya Ms Elisabeth Barbier noted that security agents were on high alert along the stretch none of the rival armed groups entered the country. Kiunga village, in Lamu is the Kenyan border to Somalia. Accompanying Ms Barbier were crew from the French naval ship Gerninal which docked at the Mombasa port on anti-piracy mission. Its commander is CDR Najoufre Fransous. Ms Barbier said that her government was interested in supporting the Somali government so as to bring to an end the conflict. "The European Union is looking forward to a lasting solution in Somali," she said. At the same time, she said that her country was still monitoring the attacks on vessels by pirates patrolling the Somali waters, saying their response to deal with such incidents would be swift. France launched two operations last year to free French ships and crew seized by Somali pirates. She however pledged to offer support to the government in dealing with the suspected pirates currently being held at Shimo la Tewa prison. "We know that this is an extra burden for the country and there is need to offer material support, by providing equipment like computers for the judiciary and improving the living conditions in jail," she said. In January this year, Indian Ocean and Red Sea countries pledged to cooperate and share operations, among them investigating and prosecuting the suspected pirates off the coast of war-ravaged Somalia in stepped up campaign to curb the scourge. Kenya is currently conducting the prosecutions. Nine countries including Djibouti, Kenya, Ethiopia, Madagascar, Maldives, Tanzania, Seychelles, Somalia and Yemen signed the code with the UN that calls for shared operations such as nominating law enforcement or other authorized officials to embark in patrol of ships or aircraft of another signatory. Commenting on the same issue, Mr Munyi noted that piracy incidents in Kenya had reduced, adding that although not directly affected, the attack on vessels was an economic disadvantage due to the loss of income generated from the handling charges on the vessels. http://allafrica.com /stories/20090922122 0.html
  8. Muslim Militants Slay Long-Time Christian in Somalia. Al Shabaab extremists shoot 69-year-old after finding Bibles on him at checkpoint. The faith journey of a long-time underground Christian in Somalia ended in tragedy this week when Islamic militants controlling a security checkpoint killed him after finding Bibles in his possession. Militants from the Muslim extremist al Shabaab killed 69-year-old Omar Khalafe on Tuesday (Sept. 15) at a checkpoint they controlled 10 kilometers from Merca, a Christian source told Compass. A port city on the Indian Ocean 70 kilometers (45 miles) from Mogadishu, Merca is the main city of the Lower Shabele region. Leaving Mogadishu by bus at 7:30 a.m., Khalafe was carrying 25 Somali Bibles he hoped to deliver to an underground fellowship in Somalia. By 10:30 a.m. he had arrived at the checkpoint controlled by al Shabaab, a rebel group linked with al Qaeda that has taken over large parts of the war-torn country. A source in Somalia who spoke on condition of anonymity told Compass that the passengers were ordered to disembark from the bus for inspection. The Islamic militants found 25 Somali Bibles in one of the passengers’ bags; when they asked to whom the Bibles belonged, the passengers responded with a chilled silence. As the search continued, the militants found several photos in the bag. The source told Compass that the militants began trying to match the photos with the faces of the passengers, who were all seized by fear as they knew the inevitable fate of the owner. The Islamic extremists saw that the elderly Khalafe resembled a face in one of the photos, the source said. They asked Khalafe if he was the owner of the Bibles; he kept quiet. They shot him to death. Khalafe had been a Christian for 45 years, sources said. The body was taken to Merca, according to the source, and there the al Shabaab militants placed the 25 Somali Bibles on top of Khalafe’s body as a warning to others. Christian sources said that at 4 p.m. an al shabaab militant was heard saying on Radio Shabele, “Today we caught Omar, a Somali Christian, with 25 Bibles at Merca checkpoint. He has been converting Somalis to Christianity, and today he has been shot dead at 12:30 p.m.” Khalafe’s family in Mogadishu learned of his death through the radio report, the source said. The family members then contacted a leader of an underground church in Somalia and informed him of the murder. “The news of the death of Omar shocked me,” the underground church leader in Somalia told Compass by telephone. “We have long served Christians in Somalia. It is unfortunate that the Bibles did not reach the intended audience. I am sure if they had not got the picture, our brother would be still alive.” Khalafe was a Somali Bantu who had served with various Christian agencies. Underground church members said he was instrumental in the spread of Christianity and had baptized many converts from Islam in Somalia. He left behind a widow and seven children. His family was unable to participate in his burial due to the risk of being killed, according to the source, who said one of Khalafe’s sons said, “It is unfortunate that we were not there to give our dad a decent burial. God knows how He will reward him.” Already enforcing sharia (Islamic law) in large parts of southern Somalia that they control, al Shabaab rebels have mounted an armed effort to topple President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed’s Transitional Federal Government. Last month al Shabaab extremists seeking evidence that a Somali man had converted from Islam to Christianity shot him dead near the Somali border with Kenya, according to underground Christians in the war-torn nation. The rebels killed 41-year-old Ahmed Matan in Bulahawa, Somalia on Aug. 18, said Abdikadir Abdi Ismael, a former leader of a secret Christian fellowship in Somalia to which Matan belonged. Matan had been a member of the underground church since 2001. In Mahadday Weyne, 100 kilometers (62 miles) north of the Somali capital of Mogadishu, al Shabaab Islamists on July 20 shot to death another convert from Islam, Mohammed Sheikh Abdiraman, at 7 a.m., eyewitnesses told Compass. They said the Islamic extremists appeared to have been hunting the convert from Islam. The sources told Compass that Abdiraman was the leader of an underground “cell group” of Christians in Somalia. He is survived by two children, ages 15 and 10; his wife died three years ago due to illness. Intent on “cleansingR 21; Somalia of all Christians, al Shabaab militia are monitoring converts from Islam especially where Christian workers had provided medical aid, such as Johar, Jamame, Kismayo and Beledweyne, sources said. Mahadday Weyne, 22 kilometers (14 miles) north of Johar, is the site of a former Christian-run hospital. The militants reportedly beheaded seven Christians on July 10. Reuters reported that they were killed in Baidoa for being Christians and “spies.” On Feb. 21 al shabaab militants beheaded two young boys in Somalia because their Christian father refused to divulge information about a church leader, according to Musa Mohammed Yusuf, the 55-year-old father who was living in a Kenya refugee camp when he spoke with Compass. He had been the leader of an underground church in Yonday village, 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Kismayo in Somalia. Militants from al Shabaab entered Yonday village on Feb. 20, went to Yusuf’s house and interrogated him on his relationship with Salat Mberwa, leader of a fellowship of 66 Somali Christians who meet at his home at an undisclosed city. Yusuf told them he knew nothing of Mberwa and had no connection with him. The Islamic extremists left but said they would return the next day. Yusuf fled for Kismayo, and at noon the next day, as his wife was making lunch for their children in Yonday, the al Shabaab militants showed up. Batula Ali Arbow, Yusuf’s wife, said the Islamic extremists took hold of three of her sons – 11-year-old Abdi Rahaman Musa Yusuf, 12-year-old Hussein Musa Yusuf and Abdulahi Musa Yusuf, 7. They killed the two older boys as the youngest one returned crying to his mother. Source: compassdirect.org
  9. Duke. No matter what even if we don't lead somaliya which is highly unlikely, but even if we don't. We always have reserved royalty title and we will always attend king of king conferences internationally with other respective royal families just like recently in libya with boqor abdullahi. All the other sheegato kings in somaliya were called "wakil" by the international community to boqor abdullahi. That tells you alot don't it einstein. Either way we will rule no matter where it is. Be it on the president seat or royalty seat. Only difference is the royalty seat never changes. And guess what it don't matter if somalis dont see my boqor as king of somaliya because the international community does and sxb RECOGNITION is all that matters for us.
  10. Duke. All those ppl i posted, tell me what do they all have in common genius? Let me give you a hint. It's called Royalty!!!
  11. Ladies and Gentleman Let me Give you Run-Down Who we are dealing with here!!! Here is a sneak-peek or the entree, not the main-dish yet!!! Abdal-Qawi Judge of International Court Of Justice. Sharmarke. Former President Of Somaliya Standing With Jfk. (What person can claim this honor?) Ina Sharmarke. Current Pm Of Somaliya Jamac Ali Jamac. Current Tfg Parliamentarian King Of Kings. Royal Family Of Somaliya. Boqor Abdullah Somali comedian of the century. Odey Shirwac Head of the PIS. Osman Diyano.
  12. General duke don't get carried away with your outburst that are based on fruitless claims. The galkacyo you speak of is shared, the only place you have to yourself is a tuulo called gara'ad with a population less then 100 families. Where-as the kingz inhabit decent sized town qardho all to themselves. Bayla coastal community to themselves, isku-shuban remote tuulo, and how can I forget also has huge slice of Bossaso if not the majority. Who you think owns horseedmedia, sbc satellite tv and not to mention countless of other commercial interests in puntland? It sure aint the yey people man!!! Sxb those kings are the largest group in Puntland. Because the kings don't fight or lose their ppl in war, they just grow and grow. Where-as the same can not be said for your ppl who have died alot over the centuries in wars and this explains why they lack any major town to themselves. This has had an obvious affect on their numbers and it is another sign of laangabism as I like to call it!!! Lastly but not least the kings are competing with other groups to being the majority in bossaso the largest city in puntland, can the same be said for yey's people?

  14. Lol the people on this forum have hit a all-time low. Now a president of a state can not have bodyguard? ummm so that means obama and every u.s president who has escorts of secret services protecting them when they are out and about in town are not supported by the people? It's called personal security, their can be any mad person in public who will want to harm the president, but that is just a single person not the whole region. lol it is amazing the amount of hate puntland generates considering the region is pro somali unity region that has been congratulated recently by washington for it's genuine acts of trying to find peace within somalis. See real states like puntland and djibouti are actively involved in trying to find political solution to the stalemate of our nation and therefore they need to be praised not harassed or condemned. It is very easy to turn the other way and just ignore somalia anyone can do that, it is different story trying to participate in constructive way to find a long-term solution to the mess our nation is in. Puntland has proposed that solution through federalism and they have lobbied hard for years to make sure that it is the legalized system and supported system of any future national government. They have achieved this through legal means not illegal means. Puntland can do exactly the same thing as hargeisa and just ignore hamar. I mean this is easy route anyone can take. But Puntland is a patriot state and leader of somalis and therefore it is upon them to act like a state and leader and find a long-term solution for all somalis. Today Puntland enjoys the support of many allies most notably the e.u and the u.s. I really sometimes wonder at somalis what do you want Puntland to do? do you just want that region just to turn away and look the other side and let mogadishu keep burning? well sorry that is not very brotherly like nor is it islamic like and it won't be a policy that puntland will tolerate. Somalis are Somalis no matts ter where they are, what hurts 1 somalis regardless of their location in somalis affects us all and this is the puntland policy and it is ISLAMIC policy unlike the shabab guys going around terrorizing innocent civilians or the hargeisa people ignoring hamar like it don't even exist. Where does islam teach these sort of policies? Where does islam teach to turn away from your fellow muslim brother? when does islam teach to terrorize innocent civilians like shabab are doing? No islam doesn't teach these evil nonsense. What islam teaches is stand by your muslim brothers through good and bad times and to help one and another in the best possible manner. Puntland and Djibouti are really the only regions today that actually back up their islamic faith through their POLICIES. We can not say the same for the hargeisa or shabab ppl.

    PM Resigns

I doubt sharmarke resigned and if he did, he would hold a press conference in-front of all reliable news reporters. The game of politics is nothing like the game of somalia online where people can forge letters in order to get others to visit their thread. Lol wake up guys. Take a chill pill, Sharmarke hasn't resigned and nor is he. Besides even if sharif and sharmarke resign, what about the next leader who enters office after 6 months you will be sayin the same thing. I don't support sharif personally however i do support the tfg system and constitution and as long as Sharif upholds to the constitution I respect his office and not personally him and his character. Seriously some people need to wake up, it don't matter who the leader is or which clan it is anymore, you are to focused on centralism idealogy and as long as you focus on that your respective regions will fall behind. Somalia tfg system is a federal system regardless what leader sits in office. If the leader does anything that constitutes a constitution violation he can be sacked by a judicial system or international pressure. So calling for this leadership to step down, then tommorow another will say let the next one step down and the continous cycle continues. So far its like 15 failed tfgs? if you haven't opened your eyes yet I truly pity you. Stepping down won't help ppl. The second your clan-man gets in power other clans will say the same thing him and ask him to step down. It's truly a pity but Somalia will never have functioning government with these sort of backwardness.
