  1. The cadillac, which cadillac?I didn't see the Cadillac .......oh wait a minute! i hope u guys don't find a cadillac coming out of a tunnel that funny :D

Anyway this superbowl commercials have really disappointed me this year. They were "aight" but nothing that made me laugh. No wonder i can't remember the Cadillac and the lady u guys are talking about.

  2. ^^^

What, are u out of u'r mind?Do i look like Shakespear to u.

F.Y.I.......I have no allegiance to the queen and i hope i made myself clear.Plus up in here, we abuse the langauge like dubya on Crawford.

****Warning to somalis**** Watching aljazeera is bad for u'r personal development.Aljazeera fans are known to be depressed and irritated hence the need to pick fights with strangers on the net.

  3. This is bullsh-it and an insult to the beautiful somali women.I can't believe any sane somali man will sleep with an ajnabi woman smelling of garlic and onions.

As far i'm concerned i'm goiing to marry a somali woman regardless of whether she is bad or not.As matter of fact i will rather marry a "not so good" somali girl than an adecent Ajnabi like a indo-pakistani or an Arab for that matter

  4. Yap just like i predicted.I think it is time i bought New England Patriot's jersey.Pats Wide Reciever Deion Branch ain't no T.O but he sure is the superbowl M.V.P.Talk of walking the walk and letting T.O do the talk.

Don't be scared mister, they are little girls afterall don't they.If u need help i can volunteer to hold the ammo for u.Refer to the thread "where are the good old somali housewives"

As for the ladies, there is nothing wrong with an educated woman. On the otherhand there is nothing unusual or wrong about men not wanting to marry an educated woman. In conclusion some things never change.

  6. Juba

U definately have apoint and i see u are agood student of history.Sadly i'm not and i was never a fan of history.I don't dwell much on what happened on the past especially when it is not related to all that is happening around me.Yes Africa was colonised in the past and only because Africans themselves have allowed it.

While it is right to say that the scramble and partition of Africa led to a change in the physical boundaries of Africa. On the other hand there is no evidence that there is or was a change in the mental ability of the average African in relation to colonization.

As for the civil wars. The truth is u don't need European or anyone else to start a civil war.Somalia is the most homogenous nation on earth, one people, one langauge, and one religion. And yet we have no government and the folks in somalia seem to be more primitive than their forefathers. If qabil X and qabil y wants to knock the hell out of each other, should we blame the Italians? No For the simple reason that the effects of the Italians on somalis was minimal at most.

You talk about low self esteem and the colonizers controlling our mind.Give me abreak sister. Most Africans by nature are not assertive and aggressive as they should be and this has nothing to do with foreigners. This is a dog eat dog world and if u are not competitive enough there is basically no place for you in this world.

As for breaking the barriers, there is no barriers to be broken.Forget about holding hands and what they told u about "we shall overcome" instead just take responsibility of u'r life and be competitive.

  7. Lake da agony

There must be alot of "agony' going on in where u live.Stop this hasty generalizations.Just because one chinese restaurant serves rats in the menu doesn't mean we should pull the trigger on all chinese restaurants.Furthermore how do u know celebrites like Usher might have been the ones who ordered the rats from China. We know this so called celebrites will try anything exotic just to look different.

Please cut on this whole "menu" activistism u're fond of lately, for u're not going to find a sympathiser on this webstite.

  8. Raula

As much as i agree and respect u'r opinion i couldn't help but disagree with u on some points.Every African, or Somali for that matter is or was raised in some sort of large family. However that doesn't necessarily means it is the best way to raise a child. It is just an evidence of the poverty sorrounding us.There is nothing "cost effective" about relaying on others to raise u'r kids.U bring children to this world and u might as well be ready to raise them with little u have.People in Africa need to take responsibility for their actions.

There is nothing wrong with helping u'r relatives if u have the means to do so.However they should never sit around expecting that suddenly out of nowhere Raula will save the day.It doesn't really work that way.In Africa there is serious violation of privacy and space. If one of u'r relatives was doing better than everyone else, the rest of the family will soon starting packing all their kids in his house. They don't really care what he,his wife or his children think of the new strangers invading their little space in the name of "we are related".

Furthermore the cost of raising his family and his relatives will soon overwhelm him and the next thing we know he is just as poor as anyone else. And incase he dies, there is nothing left for his wife and children to inherite. And there is no gurantee the so called relatives will take care of the family. It is never a win win situation fo anyone to relay on others. The same applies to pple who are on welfare in America.

How many of us somalis had a relative we have never seen or even heard of,call us from the motherland. How many of us here in the diaspora, can actually say they called the motherland with intention of looking for a cousin they haven't for a decade? Certainly we are not interested in them as much as they interested in us.In conclusion only poor people talk about crap like "it takes a village to raise a kid and the same applies for those who talk about qabil.

As for the rest of the members talking about colonisation and the whiteman dragging the black man down.I'm not really sure what to think of u guys.Nowadays it is fashionable to join the bandwagon and condemn the west especially America for all the problems around this world.

However why is it hard for us to see that the average African is an underchiever.A corrupt and lazy guy who always blames his tools. How could u possibly blame colonisation for the civil war in somalia or the corruption in Kenya.

It is time for Africa to put her house in order.

  9. I was searching my profile, and come across this old classic, and thought why not share it again. I'm still laughing hard at the pineapple guy.Plus it's superbowl time and i'm looking forward to agood laugh.

I wonder who will be funny, budweiser commercial or Pepsi commercial coz i think it will be btw this two.

  10. Damn some pple have made a business out of scaring the consumers. Is this the Dubya version of Madison avenue.

I love my Starbucks too, but 20 ounces of caffeine, sugar, whipped cream and milk taken once or twice a day does not a lean waistline make!

Yeah i hate going to starbucks. However it has nothing to do with nutrition. Its the price that i got issues with. Those "designers" coffee are just too expensive for my skinny somali azz.

  11. Its almost a decade ago when i last registered my logname on S.O.L....Ok not exactly a decade but a long, long time ago.I mean its so long away i can put "once upon a time" before it and i'm sure alot has changed in btw. However i never really expected this drastic change. And i'm talking about change concerning registration.

My friend has recently asked me if this website is the visa approval home of the somalis. When i asked him why? He told me he had registered long time ago and they sent him an email saying he has to wait to be approved. He also told me whenever he tried to logon, the damn thing keeps saying you're banned before he has posted any single post.I also have some other pple,my friends mostly who are having the same problems.

My question is, on average how long does the whole registration and approval thing take. And how is it possible for one to be banned before he/she has even posted anything here?

As for my friends, they said S.O.L might as well forget about them. They say, they have moved on and have discovered websites that have u registered in seconds.

  12. juba

It is true, but Nigeria is not the only one. From the fulanis of Nigeria, to the Ndebele/shona of southern Africa they all do relay on the extended family alot more than is necessarily.Even Somalis they do that alot.Somali parents consider their kids as some form of social security. Dependability(is this really a word} is a common theme in Africa.

Charity begins at home.Parents should take care of their kids and not wait for the village to feed them.Africa relays alot on donations and handouts from the I.M.F and world bank. The average African thinks, its his right to get grants from the west.No wonder Africa is left behind like folks on welfare in America.

  13. Why do u guys care which forum she posts.Give the sister an answer and let the moderators do their job.

Back to the topic.Africa has massive problems.Africa ranks at the bottom in every field u can think of.The only good news is when it comes to the lowest suicide rate, Africa is number one.But again it takes alittle bit of "thinking" to commit suicide or even better u don't have to commit suicide in Africa. The place is blessed with stuff that kill in any style u want.U can have the H.I.V style, takes longer than hanging u'rself but its better than death by diahorea.

Folks in Africa are either naive or simply dumb.Either way, we can't bail them out of their problems.Africa should quit on the whole "it takes a village to raise a child"crap.Don't u think its time the parents, rather than the village raised their own kids?

  14. Rudy

I wouldn't mind losing the vikes to LA LA land.We create them u guys perfect them.Plus i'm as californian as anything that leaves the twincities to start a new life in calif. As for Moss,he is all talk no play.U can hand him Pete Carol or whoever u think will take him to boot camp.

    Playmaker

Its not about whether moss is talented or not.Its about championship.Like u said moss is one of the best and yet we have folks like the patriots in the superbowl.Even three trips to the superbowl in four yrs can't make the recievers as famous as moss.Nobody even knows a pat's reciever and yet they do the job.If we trade moss what is gonna happen, maybe win a superbowl coz we are already losers with moss around and i don't think we would sink below the bottom.

There is no mystery about the patriots. They have no ego problems,no supertars accomodations.Just abunch of humble guys with average talent. And ofcourse a no nonesense coach who doesn't take crap from players. This is what i call effeciency at it's best.Doing more with less.

Go patriot and make me proud.I'm getting sick of the whole overated Philly thing.

I see your point, but the way you write always makes me recoil.

I will really appreciate if u rephrase that in a layman's langauge.Did i mention 2u i have no allegiance to the queen.U see my command of the English langauge, is severely limited to that which i learnt from my African teacher in the village.Furthermore, i think i should mention to u dear, that dubya indeed is our leader and its no suprise that we both have something in common.I guess the way we(Dubya and i or was it me and dubya) speak the English langauge, does indeed make the Queen's mother roll in her grave.

And just incase u had issues with the content of my previous post. Please feel free to advice me,for i hate to see a lovely woman like u recoil beyond her stretching point.
