  1. The report came as secular warlords and Islamic extremists clashed for a fourth day in Mogadishu. I didn't know there were such things as secular warlords  Nevertheless, I would welcome any economic sanctions with open arms, specially those targeted at the mafioso depleting our environmental sources. No one should be allowed to exploit our precious natural resources (which is for the benefit of all) for their personal interests, and then to add insult to injury, use that illegal income to kill, abuse and keep hostage whole defenceless populations, with the observable results in Muqdisho. w/s
  2. Mr Phillips did not call for a return to segregation . What he suggested was that black boys in the UK might benefit from being taught separately from other children in some subjects If other children mean a mix of boys and girls, then separating black boys would improve their performance. Since he's not calling for gender separation in education, he may not be principally correct, but admit we must, that he's technically correct! w/c
  3. His comments came after a visit to an all-black St Louis school, where boys were separated from girls , and achieved a 12% increase over eight months. You're all missing the most important fact here. Facts and not your personal opinions should form the basis of discussions like this. w/c
  4. JB writes: Quoting from the Quran to a nonbeliever doesn't suffice Ok JB, Why not? Is that because you believe that the Qur'an is not from Allah (i.e. Allah doesn't exist; therefore the Qur'an is not from Allah)? If it's not from Allah, then where does the Qur'an come from? What if the Qur'an is not written and cannot be written by any human being? Sh. Nur's quotation from the Qur'an is to prove its divine qualities , and if he succeeds (which Allah willing, he will) he has proven, since the Qur'an cannot be written by man, the existence of a deity external to human limits of time and space. You see JB, you cannot just dismiss the Qur'an; prove, if you dare, it's authorship by man, and you've proven the non-existence of Allah. So in fact, the challenge of the Qur'an is clear; not "self-defeating" as you said, but self-proving , and in the meantime the Qur'an is the prove of Allah for it's sent by Allah, which is prove enough for His existence! My advice to you is, be silent if you can't take up that challenge!
  5. The Medium is the message in Music, it numbs the senses, once numb, the medium is ready to accept more compromising messages and content in the form of lyrics, songs Brother Nur, is that why false religions always use music to hide their contradictive messages, by making their otherwise "unbelievable" doctrines more "believable" to the not suspecting victims, once their minds are compromised by these cataleptic sounds? Simple_Nomad, I’m happy for you that Allah opened your eyes and guided you to His beautiful Light. Thanks for sharing your story and welcome on SOL. w/c
  6. a/c, Sh.Nur, your theory is very true and very interesting at the same time. Researchers in Holland once described the ecstatic energy of regular clubbers when they dance like wild monkeys on the discotheque floor, as being in a trance station and out of touch with reality due to the hypnotic effects of the music. Needless to say though, they opined that it was a good thing for relaxation, happiness, blablabla.., etc. (but we know better). My question for brother Nur is, looking back at the western socio-cultural history of the past 50 years, can I conclude from your theory that: The cultural degradation and social disintegration of western societies in general, and the well-known slogan of "sex drugs and rock'n roll" has more or less to do with music; and to be more precise, the increase of the rhythmic speed and the evolution of trancelike cataleptic music, through which satanic influence of society has spread like fire? w/c.
  7. A/c, "And verily, it (this Qur'an) is in the Mother of the Book with Us, indeed exalted, full of wisdom (لَعَلÙىٌّ ØÙŽÙƒÙيمٌ)": "Perfect wisdom..(ØÙكْمَةٌ بَـلÙغَةٌ)": (Qur'an, 43,4; 54,5) "..Yet of mankind is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or a Book giving light!" (Qur'an, 31,20) So full of logic
  8. Fidel "Kubo-nasdheer" Castro writes: What, then, do you have time for SOS? Castro, I have time for that, which given my finite abilities and resources, allows me to effectively and beneficently (for myself as well as for others) can cover within my time constraint. Another reason is that a topic with such importance and broad reach of scope, it cannot be done justice by causally mentioning it in a wholly undedicated thread. Perhaps we could discuss it in some of the e-Nuri archives, but not yet here. Naden writes: S.O.S, Allah will surely grant knowledge to those who seek it. Naden, What is that knowledge, and where do you seek it? I have randomly selected a few ahadeeths for your benft, and I sincerely hope that you’ll take the time to reflect upon before you post anything else again! Al-Mughirah (ra) related from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: "Ascribing false reports to me is not like ascribing false reports to anyone else. Whosoever intentionally tells a lie against me, then let him accede in Hellfire." Also on the authority of Abu Hurairah (ra) he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever intentionally tells a lie against me, then let him accede in Hellfire." (Bukhari) Jabir (ra) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There are two kind of knowledge. The first kind resides in the heart and that is the usefull knowledge (for his owner), and the second one is at the tongue (with no roots at one’s heart) and that is the evidence of Allah against the son of Adam." (Ad-Darimy) Ka’b Ibn Malik (ra) also reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever learns some knowledge in order to compete with the scholars or to argue with foolish (ignorant people) and to gain people’s admiration (money, fame, etc.), Allah will cause him to enter the Hellfire." At-Tirmidy). Abu Hurairah (ra) also narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If anyone leans some knowledge which should be learned for the sake of Allah, the Exalted, i.e. learning it just for the purpose of acquiring worldly advantages, he will not experience the odour of Paradise." (Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah) Knowledge in Islam has a special place and meaning. Therefore, to seek knowledge is worship (ibadah) and like any other ibadah, it has rules and conditions. For that reason, Allah grants (beneficial) knowledge to those who fulfil the conditions with the best of purity and intentions. Mu’awiyah (ra) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If Allah wants to do good to a person (khayr), He makes him a canonist of religion." (Bukhari and Muslim). Thus Naden, to be truly knowledgeable in the religion of Allah, is not a matter of "whoever seeks it will be granted", contrary, it’s only granted to those whom Allah has favoured (fadl) above others (btw, do you know the meaning of "fadl" with respect to men-men, women-women, men-women, nation-nation and creation-creation relations?). abu Umamah Al-Bahily (ra) reported that (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The merit of the scholar is above the worshiper, it is similar to my merit above the lowest one among you. Verily, Allah, His angels and the people of the heaven and earth, even the ant in its hole and even the whale send their blessings to those who teach people righteous deeds." (At-Tirmidy) I hope I’ve got your attention now and that you’re asking yourself; but why, why, why? Why we should dismiss you as nonsensical idle women who’s way over her head, and keep our great scholars of Islam in such a high esteem (to have to explain to you this is a giveaway), let’s share another perspective on the position of scholars in Islam. It’s easy Naden, to resort to "they have not answered my questions" tactic to satisfy your ignorance whenever you fail to understand a religious meaning of an aspect, but one should resist lecturing others on your genius and how you’ve come to a superior understanding of religious matters after more than 1400 years of failed scholars, and all by the "suck of your thumbs"! Allah (swt) says in His glorious Qur’an: "Allah bears witness that none has the right to be worshipped but He (لاَ Ø¥Ùلَـهَ Ø¥Ùلاَّ Ù‡ÙÙˆÙŽ), and the angels, and those having knowledge (Ø£ÙوْلÙواْ الْعÙلْمÙ) (also bear witness to this); (He always) maintains His creation in Justice. None has the right to be worshipped but He (لاَ Ø¥Ùلَـهَ Ø¥Ùلاَّ Ù‡ÙÙˆÙŽ), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." (Qur’an, 3:18) In his "Miftaah Daaris-Sa’aadah", Ibn Al-Qayyim commented on that verse by listing the following points: 1. Allah chose the people of knowledge (Ø£ÙوْلÙواْ الْعÙلْمÙ) to bear witness to His Oneness (Tawheed) over and above the rest of His creation. 2. Allah honoured the people of knowledge by mentioning their testimony along with His testimony. 3. He raised high the status of the scholars by associating their testimony with the testimony of the angels. 4. This verse bears witness to the superiority of those who possess knowledge. Allah does not make any of His creation bear witness except the upright amongst them. There is a well-known narration from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) who said: "The upright in every generation will carry this knowledge, rejecting the distortions of the extremists, the false claims of the liars, and the (false) interpretations of the ignorant." (hasan) 5. Allah, the One free from all defects. Himself bears witness to His Oneness, and He is the greatest of witnesses. Then He chose from His creation the angels and the scholars - this is sufficient to show their excellence. 6. Allah made the scholars bear witness with the greatest and the most excellent testimony and that is, " لاَ Ø¥Ùلَـهَ Ø¥Ùلاَّ Ù‡ÙÙˆ", Allah, the One free of all defects and the Most High, does not bear witness except to matters of great importance and only the greatest from Allah's creation bear witness to this. 7. Allah made the testimony of the people of knowledge a proof against the rejecters. Thus they are its proofs and its signs, indicating His Oneness (Tawheed). 8. Allah, the Most High, used a single verb (Ø´ÙŽÙ‡Ùدَ) to refer to His testimony and the testimony of the angels and the scholars. He did not use an additional verb for their testimony; thus he connected their testimony to His. This shows the strong link between their testimony and Allah's testimony, as if He himself bore witness to His Oneness upon their tongues and made them utter this testimony. 9. Allah, the One free from all defects, made the scholars fulfil His right (لاَ Ø¥Ùلَـهَ Ø¥Ùلاَّ Ù‡ÙÙˆ) through this testimony and if they fulfil it, then they have fulfilled and established this right of Allah upon them. Then it is obligatory upon mankind to accept this testimony which is the means to reach happiness in this life and in their final return (to Allah). Whosoever takes this guidance from the scholars and accepts this truth because of their testimony, then for the scholars there is a reward equal to them. And none knows the value of this reward but Allah. Such was Luqman’s advice to his son, as reported by Abu Umamah (ra) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Verily, Luqman said to his son, ‘O son! You should keep company with scholars and listen to the speech of wise people; for assuredly Allah enlightens the dead heart with the brightness of wisdom as He revives the unfruitful land with rains’." The same Abu Umamah (ra) also narrated that the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him said: "There are three persons whom no one would underestimate but a hypocrite: He who has become grey-heared in Islam, he who is pundit, and a just imam." (both compiled by At-Tabarany) w/c.
  9. Naden writes: Then, I cannot understand how the prophet would be privy to what will happen in the afterlife outside of what is revealed to him in the Quran. These are, of course, my own thoughts and fall under my limitations. Naden, Indeed, these are your own thoughts, which like so many of your thoughts, show your extreme limitations of what you’re talking about. I welcome your admittance of the fact that you “cannot understand how the prophet would be privy to what will happen in the afterlife outside of what is revealed to him in the Quranâ€, but the way forward from such ignorance is not to engage in nonsensical arguments, rather, you should ask those whom Allah (swt) granted knowledge of these matters. I don’t have the time to explain here the meaning of revelation, the concept of prophethood, message-messenger relations and the deliverance thereof (i.e. Qur’an and Sunnah), but I urge you to distance yourself from all the misinformed statements you've made so far (very dangerously loosley, may I warn!). JB writes: And it is your presentation of this vague something i question not your faith in it´s existance. Good S.O.S , what you’ve just presented is the impossible, what is something that no i can see, that no ear can hear, that no heart can contain, that no mind can encompass ? JB, I admire Xiinfaniin’s toleration and patience with you; I’m already bored! Was it not for the chance to present my religion to you, I would most definitely not replied to you. Since, as you say, it’s not my faith that you “question†here, but my presentation of it; let me present it differently then. Allah (swt) says in His Glorious Qur’an: Ùَلاَ تَعْلَم٠نَÙْسٌ مَّآ Ø£ÙخْÙÙÙ‰ÙŽ Ù„ÙŽÙ‡ÙÙ… مّÙÙ† Ù‚Ùرَّة٠أَعْيÙÙ† جَزَآءً بÙمَا كَانÙواْ يَعْمَلÙونَ٠Which means; “No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do†(Qur’an, 32:17) However, that which is “kept hidden†is kept hidden for many reasons only known to Allah. One reason is related to the practical frame of reference, which there’s none for humans to comprehend. Human mind understands things within the context of the existence in this world, all other imaginations of “existence†outside this present worldly existence is confined and condemned by the limited mind, from which, such baseless ideas have originated. For that reason, and narrated by Abu Hurairah (ra), our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has informed us the following: قَالَ الله٠تَعَالى: أَعْدَدْت٠لÙعÙبَادÙÙŠ الصَّالÙØÙينَ مَا لَا عَيْنٌ رَأَتْ، وَلَا Ø£ÙØ°ÙÙ†ÙŒ سَمÙعَتْ، وَلَا خَطَرَ عَلى قَلْب٠بَشَر Which means; “Allah has said, ‘I have prepared for My righteous slaves things which have never been seen by any eye, nor heard by any ear, nor imagined by any human being’ †(Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Majah) Ibn Abbas (ra) said that “there’s nothing in the life of this world which is the same as what is in Paradise, except the names..†For example, there’s a river of honey in Paradise, but not the honey we know, though “the best of foods in this worldâ€, like Ali Ibn Abi-Talib said, “it comes from an insectâ€. He also said that “water is the best of drinks in this world, but is most freely availableâ€, which of course, cannot be the same water flowing from the springs such as Salsabil JB writes: How can you possiblly precieve such a thing ? It’s called FAITH; you wouldn’t understand, because you haven’t got it and therefore perceive not Socod_badne writes: Only what was revealed to him by the Angel Gabrial were revelations. Everything else were not, otherwise they'd be in the Quran. Try again; only this time think w/s

  12. JB writes: Brother SOS, you have never acounted for how having politically conditioned prejudices relates to Naden´s statement ( the red text), You seem to be saying that Quran leads one to beleive contrary to what Naden has stated, namely inequality in intellect between the genders, but you lack or leave out ( intentionally? ) a key premiss, thus your conclusion is your OWN ( not Naden´s ) absurdity. Well, you seem to have come to the conclusion of inequality in intellect before you gave me the chance to do myself, by hijacking my challenge against Naden on his/her statement “equal responsibility and accountability of women and men in the Quranâ€! To account for my conclusion that he/she was politically conditioned in his/her perception of equality in responsibility and accountability, which lead him/her to believe that it showed equality of intellect between the sexes, I gracefully posed the following questions to give ouselves a chance to start all over again from the fundamental concepts governing Islamic principles: What is the responsibility of men? What is the responsibility of women? And are they the same? If not, is there equality in one responsibility compared to the other, if by nature, the specialisation of the sexes per definition differ? What is accountability? Are we accountable for what we are responsible for, or that which we’re not responsible for? Is there equality in accountability between what we're made responsible for and that which we're made not responsible for? The answers to these questions are solely from Islamic perspective, and someone like you, good JB, has no place in this matter. JB writes: This is a classic theistic flaw , first you possitively claim that This Deity is for pleasing and getting pleased, then immediately you reduce yourself to absurdity about how, why and what such mutual pleasing might be like [ no eye has ever seen it, no ear has ever heard it, no heart can contain it and no mind can encompass it.. ]. Brother S.O.S, how do you define and grasp or even slightly be possitive about such a pleasing? worse , you´re deadly sure that some will unimaginably be pleased. stunned is all we can get !. Now, Naden is Muslim and believes in Allah, Paradise and Hell-Fire, so am I. We (Naden, I, other Muslims alike) believe that what Allah (swt) has prepared for His pious and obedient servants as a reward in Heaven, is something that “no eye has ever seen it, no ear has ever heard it, no heart can contain it and no mind can encompass it..†Even though you hate the sound of it, we just love it! JB writes: S.O.S, That your pretentious rationalization and justification as to why men should be rewarded more( better) than women/girls doese´t cut a swath is obvious , but when you claim that a compationate God MUST have deemed unneccasery to motivate women in the same and equal way as HE motivated Men , you´re not only asking women/girls to submit to God through men of know-how that can imparatively conclude what must a Deity deem. A sad demonstration of your wasted nature! To keep it short and simple:  1) neither men nor women are rewarded more than the other on the basis of their sexes, lo, it’s on the basis of Taqwa and lifelong accumulation good deeds whatever the sex, race, class, age, etc. 2) Allah deems necessary whatever He deems necessary! Allah motivates men for the purpose of fulfilling a particular task required to perform by highlighting some of the rewards thereof. If the task is jihad, then, since only men are required to perform that particular task, there’s logically no need to motivate women therefore. Similarly, only women (and not men) are promised the status of martyrdom if they die while giving birth to children. I as a man don’t need to be motivated for that reason, since I’m not required to give birth to children.
  13. ^^^Good for you, ..I only wanted to find out whether you are Somali or not, you've just indicated that you're not (knowingly or unknowingly) It doesn't mean that you're any less welcome here, it only means that I can't use Somali words with you. Peace!
  14. The way I understand it, outside of what is revealed about martyrs and huralain in general in the Quran, the prophet (pbuh) would not know where the martyrs are going or whether 70 huralain would be in store for them. Naden, Are you saying except for the Qur'an, everything else our beloved Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) tell us about (in hadiths about the afterlife) is false, because he has no other revelation outside the Qur'an? You failed to answer my previous questions, can you atleast answer this one?
  15. Total owed: $ 14.75 I thought this story was a famous South African story, in which case, a change in currency sign from the US Dollar used here to its original SA Rand could mean that you've got your calculations wrong, and that the boy values his mother even less than initially assumed. Nevertheless, a great story! P.S. Are you a South African national by any means?
  16. A/c, Viking, Xiinfaniin, Khalaf,... Before I give the wrong impression, let me specify my position on clear terms. 1) Yes, scholars sometimes get it correct and sometimes incorrect, there's no crime (except losing out on half of the potential rewards from Allah) on the condition that they don't make a blasphemous judgements which demands tawbah, and the scholar fails to retract his mistakes. 2) I present no views of my own, but the judgement of the Sudanese council of religious scholars who called on him to repent before they issue an apostasy trial. 3) Despite what he did in the past for the Islamic movement in Sudan which must be considered laudable, we humans are unfortunately liable to err, but the best of us are those who repent. In this he failed, he lost the plot and took Islam to an alien platform of desired personal worldview. The Sudanese council of religious scholars are correct in their assessment, and he is absolutely wrong! So please, let's not fool ourselves, one cannot defend every apostate with fame and name on the basis of "ibn Taymiyah was considered heretic ones." He is simply no Ibn Taymiyah, because historically the more righteous men met their fate with oppression, imprisonments and death, not because they pioneered the unscrewing of Islamic poles like Turabi (admittedly a resent phenomenon in his case), but they were men who sacrificed their lives for the sake of Allah to restate the fundamentals of Islam. Islam instructed the prophet to employ persuasive methods when preaching. He was also known to use incentives to soothe new converts hearts and alleviate any hardships they may encounter. His was a wise approach that effectively gathered their hearts, as it were, and hence preserved (pardon the liberal usage) their faith. Xiinfaniin, the above quote and Viking's example for that matter, demonstrate the gentleness and wisdom needed to attract the hearts of those who are of weaker faith or believe not. Unfortunately, none of these have direct relation wit our point of contention, and if it does, it's irrelevant since it only deals with the short-term. So, if we tailor our discussion to the long-term, you'll find that, if the family of the (not so new) Muslimah fails to embrace Islam, then, according to the sharia, separation is a must! But Xiinoow, just think of it as an "employment of persuasive methods" and other "incentives" (to borrow some of your phrases) in order to induce the family to think twice in stead of losing their valued family member in case they fail to embrace Islam. w/c
  17. Well, to start with, I didn't bother myself to check out the url you've provided, and maybe that demonstrates my less enthusiastic interest in the subject for the time being, ...you see, everyone has an issue with which they struggle to understand. At present, I have other more pressing issues at heart that I struggle to align and command myself into unreserved surrender, but alhamdu-lil-Allah, as long as I’m aware of my ignorance, no whimsical speculative sentiments will ever satisfy me besides the revealed Word. From there you may state, "we" (as women, which I'm not btw) may not have needed to desire after empty comfort in whimsical speculative sentiments, if "we" (again as women) were offered the same "Tangible goods such as multiple wives for the man are mentioned..." as you put it. To which, I must reply, (1) men were required to wage jihad and forsake their lives in great numbers, with the full knowledge of leaving their wives and children, ...the mentioning of multiple wives has the benefit of motivating men (ultimately a very simple creature) not to listen to their worldly desires and satanic whisperings. (2) Women were not required to give up their lives, and as such, Allah (swt) must have deemed unnecessary to motivate women under such circumstances in the same way as men (Allah knows best). w/c
  18. a/c azmaya, Don't you think it's little premature to feel jealous in this world about a higher world in which no jealousy exist, for the sake of just in case we end up there? Jealousy, my dear sister, is confined only to this world for which Allah created with a particular plan, His Plan. But make no mistake, Allah (swt) committed Himself to please and be pleased with His righteous servants. How, what and why though, my dear sister, no eye has ever seen it, no ear has ever heard it, no heart can contain it and no mind can encompass it.. ..in that, I'm limited to offer you any explanation, but unimaginably pleased will he or she be when they're told to "enter in peace" w/c
  19. a/c naden, you write: "..equal responsibility and accountability of women and men in the Quran leads one to believe that they are considered equal in intellect." The above statement betrays your misconception of basic Islamic principles of responsibility, accountability and equality...which leads me to believe that you're a victim of your politically conditioned prejudices, but I hope that your enquiring nature may help you to become more inceptive to Islam as universal truth, rather than selective borrowing to suit your own personal ends. I say that because I can't see how a pious Muslim(ah) intending to please Allah can borrow a misconceived doctrine into which he/she tries to ridicule and disown inherent elements of Islam which stood firm for over 14 centuries of Islamic sciences of scholarship. Therefore, since you're not looking for answers, can you answer us the following (from your statement): What is the responsibility of men? What is the responsibility of women? And are they the same? If not, is there equality in one responsibility compared to the other, if by nature, the specialisation of the sexes per definition differ? What is accountability? Are we accountable for what we are responsible for, or that which we’re not responsible for? Is there equality in accountability between what we're made responsible for and that which we're made not responsible for? The assignment of final destination is subject to the outcomes of relative accountabilities, which arises from the subjective responsibilities confined upon, placed upon and equipped thereupon for the purpose of achieving that destination. Meaning: all other things being equal, men can earn their place in Paradise outside the house (i.e. working, praying in mosques, building infrastructures for the betterment of society, leading society, jihad in way of Allah, etc.). Women on the other hand, ceteris paribus, can achieve their goal of Paradise by fulfilling their duties at home (hence Allah's encouragement for women to remain in their homes). Per definition to argue otherwise, has in general the per se effect of losing opportunities of pleasing Allah, disintegrating society and a radical number of women missing out their chances of achieving higher positions in where it really matters, the afterlife (and men for that matter). w/s
  20. Brother Xiinfaniin, ...having got that of my chest, I feel a lot better now Obviously he seems to be using more logic than revelation. That seems to me as an understatement of facts, in fact, to think one can correct Allah’s “static†revelations with ones own desirous reasoning has neither to do with logic nor revelation. Still, he remains a respected Muslim scholar and Mujtahid in my books. I disagree with the most of what he said. I cannot comment on that statement as long as I’m not sure what constitutes “a respected Muslim scholar and Mujtahid†in your books. Would you preserve newly-convert’s faith, and allow her stay with her family, or would you give no consideration to the particulars of her case? (1) Preserver of faith is Allah, (2) the judgement of the Sharia –among other things- has the motive of preserving faith itself, and reading back your own question, I’m sure that your wisdom and logic will tell you that the opposite is the case: (3) that’s if the family of reverted Muslimah refuses to accept Islam, to separate her from such a family becomes an inevitable way of safeguarding her faith. I don’t know. But I know that Muslim women can’t choose to marry non-Muslim man. That I know for sure. All Muslims are equal with regards to the position of the Sharia, and as such there’s no difference in standard between old and new Muslims. P.S. My anger lies not with the above points you've picked up, but (as you know) with other more severe ones that he's guilty of!
  21. a/c, This is not "new" news... he's a man who's injured in the head and never was a religious scholar, contrary to the impression of those whom he tries to mislead! One should note how the media makes a big deal out of some comments he made, as if they're trying to dictate the central theme to this whole affair into suitable platform of their liking. I would like to express my satisfaction towards the steps taken by the Sudanese council of religious scholars, by issuing an all inclusive and detailed denunciation of his fallacious and blasphemous crimes (against Allah, His Book and prophets), and its rebuttal thereof point by point: Into which, the declaration of apostasy was deemed to be the only logical consequence, concidering the severity of his crimes and futile attempts to undermine the religion of Al-Islaam! ...chapeau  w/s
  22. S.O.S

    Alcohol

a/c, Yes of course, alcohol has a low cooking temperature and therefore will evaporate... however, in order to use wine for aromatic purposes, don't you have to buy it first? ..and doesn't buying it necessitate carrying and eventually selling of alcoholic goods in that trade? Well, we as Muslims are not allowed to buy, carry or sell any alcoholic drinks (read the books of Bukhari, Muslim, etc.) That's why Allah (swt) explained to us that: "...the sin is greater than the profit..." (Quran 2:219) w/s
  23. Brother Nur, a/c. You write: "Freedom as presented today is secular; it does not explain what happens after death, after we decompose, and after we are reassembled back to our forms for an eternal life of happiness and freedom, or an eternal life of suffering and confinement. So, in that above sense, Freedom is like a light above our heads showing us the way below, we can see far if we are way up, taking Allah's light to see, as we descend down, and seek light from other than Allah SWT, we see less, thus we feel confined and less free. To put in a different way, If we seek to take the light of our freedoms from Allah, the highest source, all of our wishes are realized by Allah SWT, if on the other hand we seek to take freedom from those who deny Allah SWT, then the scope of the freedom will be much narrower, and we will end up becoming slaves for other than Allah SWT, so in order to be as free as you can, seek Allah alone in worship, obey Him and enjoy real freedom." True freedom is to be free from the fire and because ultimate freedom can only be experienced in Heaven, freedom in this world means the struggle upon the path of FREEDOM (in other words ISLAM). "The cause of the freedom is the cause of God" as Samuel Bowles put it ones, however, what interests me is your reference to freedom as light, since the opposite of light is dark, darkness becomes the opposite of freedom! Commentary on the Verse of Light By Imam Ibn ul Qayyim al Jawziyyah God strikes a parable about His light within the heart of His servant, which only the learned understand: ‘God is the light of the heavens and the earth. The similitude of His light is a niche in which there is a lamp. The lamp is in a Glass, the Glass, like a glistening star, kindled from a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil well nigh glows though no fire has touched it: light upon light. God guides to His light whom He wills, and God strikes parables for human beings, and God knows all things.’ [Qur’an 24:35] Ubayy ibn Ka`b said, 'the similitude of His light [takes place in] the Muslim's heart.' [ibn Kathir, 3:464] This light, which He has placed in the heart, comes from gnosis, love, faith and the remembrance of God. It is the light that He has sent down to His servants, by which He gives them life, and by which they walk among people. Its origin is in their hearts, but then He strengthens and increases it until it appears upon their faces, limbs, bodies, even their clothes and dwellings. People of this nature perceive it, while others deny it. On the Day of Judgement, however, it will come forth by their faith, and hasten before them in the darkness of the Bridge, that they might cross it. They will proceed in proportion to either its strength or its weakness in their hearts during their life in the world. For one person, it will be like the sun, for another like the moon, the stars or a lamp. For yet another, this light will be only at the tips of his toes; it will shine, then go out [then shine, then go out]. For just as his light had been in this world, so he shall be given when crossing the Bridge. In fact, it is the selfsame light that had appeared to him before. However, just as the hypocrite has no real light in this world, or has only an outward light but none within, so shall he be given [on that Day] an outward light which will vanish in the darkness and be lost. link
  24. Runtii, waxaad tilmaantay oo ah baraka darrada ku saabsan cunidda xaaranta waa mid aan aad loogu foojigneyn, waxaanan isleeyahay, ummaddeenna Somalida ah , gaar ahaan halkee laga heystaa? Waxaad mooddaa in xaaraan cunidda ay noqotay hab nololeed oo dad badan ku nool yihiin, hadaba ma laga yaabaa, inta aan sidaa ku sugan nahay in Allah barakeeyo waxa na la siiyay? Nur walaal, haddaan si fudud dib isugu laabanno, waxaan is waydiin karnaa xaaladda ina haysata hab aad u' sahlan. 25. Just a while ago I was reading Suurat Hood. Wallahi walaal, that Suurah is a journey by itself, anyone who reads and can hold tears back, needs to see a Doctor, eNuri heart rust control clinic, because, the Suurah humbles you, it takes you in a journey with many prophets and their peoples, you begin to understand what is happening today when you see that the more things change, the more they stay the same, inshAllah. Brother Nur, Was it not Abu bakr (may Allaah be pleased with him) who remarked ones to the Prophet (Allahs blessings and peace be upon him) about his hair turning gray, to which the Messenger replied: Ù‡Ùودٌ وَأَخَوَاتÙهَا (Suurat Huud and its sisters!). The verse which left me with the deepest imprint in my mind, and that I've thought about most eversince is: "And O my poeple! Ash forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strangth to your strength, so do not turn away as Mujrimuun." (Qur'aan 11:51) I think that everyone should listen to Umal's tafseer of the Qur'aan to have an idea of what you're talking about. w/s
