  1. Salaam,

Can anybody say in where in the West: Holocaust is non-existent, you can go behind bars for that, you cannot be Anti-Semitic by any means, nor Anti-Christian,or anyother religion, But you can insult Islam and Muslims as you like: Let the boycott goes on!!!

  2. Salaam,

Well Peeps I told you So in the other thread else where in the fora, this kids are getting out of hand, It needs all of us to come to terms to take part and confront these kids on putting them on track as soon as possible. It’s getting ugly walee redface.gif . Basically they are abusing the freedom they found in this country, while abusing themselves too, there families can do nothing cos kids are street wise and more cleverer than their parents I assume.

The families are different in here, some become so worried and re-locate the rest of the family in other parts of the world, but the bad ones boys or girls already slipped the fence and gone in wilderness,at the age of teenage. Some families consist of single mothers and couldn’t coup with a wild-eyed weed smoking gangsta-pretender,aggressive teenager roving and raving as he likes.

though I dont relate to non-of them for my Somalinimo and Muslinimo I asked them(those in bristol) why they are selling drugs and didn't take up a part-time jobs and continue their studies, all of them said we need Quick Money , so that consumerism, Nike-Air and Michael Jordan shoes is taking its toll to our kids, one comes to the school with a stash of money, and new outfit, and the rest of it, the others replicating the same ilegal process, now they are increasing by the hour, the police knows they are at the front-line in the drug's no man's land and not touching them in order to use them and nail their handlers and the big guns who is behind the trade, and vice versa.

So here we go again. It sometimes worrys me Walaahi for my little daughters though still too young, but this reminds me Saudi Arabia/Riydh were i used to live most of my live, where the early Somalis used to be the most respected community in the country and when I was leaving in early 90s Ya Ilaahii!, even the Somali woman with Cabaaya and Xijaab ayaa la badhi jiray redface.gif , Bilaa Sharaf, Bila Qiimo. who said we aren't our worst enemey!

  5. Salaam,

    Julaybib, The Unlilely Hero

People often look down upon others if they are handicaped, short, less attractive or different in any way. But underneath the skin and the body, we're allthe same, and Allah only considers the soul of a person . There will be many good-looking and strong people on the Day of judgment being thrown in the fire. Only Taqwa makes us valuable in Allah' Sight.

Julaybib was a poor man from Medina. He had no family, no tribe and what was worse was that he was short, slightly deformed and looked funny. People used to make fun of him and tease him wherever he went. He truly was an unfortunate soul.

When the prophet came to Medina, Julaybib immediatley accepted Islam, along with so many others. Because Islam taught the equality of all people,Julaybib began to feel a little better about himself and people teased him less.

Old habits and prejudices die hard in some people. The Blessed Prophet decided to do something that should have been done long before. He went to the house of one of the Ansar and said, " I want you daughter to be married".

The man was overjoyed and replied, "How wonderful and blessed and what a great thing to see!" "I dont want to marry her myself", the Prohet rmarked.

The man felt a little let down and asked, "Then who will she marry". "Jalybib" He replied.

The man was shocked and horrified. After quickly calming himself fow, however, he managed to say,"I will consult with her mother," then he rushed to his wife.

"The Messenger of Allah wants to have your daughter married." he told her.

His wife was overjoyed and thrilled. "What a wonderful thing!" she cried with delight.

"He doesn't want to marry her himself," he lamented. "He wnats her to marry Julaybib." she was horrfied and upset. she hated julaybib for his ugliness, just like most everyone else did. She finally cried out," To Julaybib! No, never to Julaybib! No, by living Allah, we will never marry her to him!"

The man was about to go and tell the Prophet what his wife decided when the daughter herself came into the room. "Who asked you if they could marry me?"She inquired. Her mother told her about the Prophet's request that she mary Julaybib. The daughter heard her mother complain and saw how she turned down the request. This bothered the daughter greatly.

"Do you refuse the request of the Messenger of Allah?"She finally asked her mother. "Send me to him(Julaybib) for her won't harm me."

The daughter then read a verse from the Qur'an to her parents that called belivers to obey the Prophet in all good things. Then she looked at them and said," Iam satifsfied and submit myself to whatever the Messenger of Allah considered good for me."

When the Prophet heard what she said, he prayed for her, "O Lord, grant her good in abundance and save her from a life of hard work and trouble."

Then Jualybib was wed to her and they lived togather, though only a short time.

Once, when he was travelling with the Prophet on an expedition, a group of idol-worshippers ambushed them. After the battle was over, the Prophet asked him campanions, "Have you lost anyone?"

the companions gave the names of their relatives and friends they had lost. then the Prophet asked another group of Sahaba nearly the same question. They also named the ones they had lost in the battle. A third group reported they had lost no one.

The Prophet said, "But I have lost Julaybib. Look for him on the battlefield."

They searched for him and finally located his body lying next to seven ded idol-worshipper. The Prophet rushed to the scene and when he saw Julaybib,he said sadly, "He killed seven and then was killed? This man is of me and I am of him."

He then repeat himself a couple more times and then bent down and held Jualabib in his arms. The Prophet dug a grave for him with his own hands and placed him in it.He didn't wash his body because of martyrs are not washed before burial.

When Jualybib's wife was told of her husband's death, she must have been filled with sorrow. But she was a woman who knew what this life was really about as demonstrated by her willlingness to marry him in the first place, for the sake of Allah.

She probably remembered another ayah of the Qu'ran which speaks about whose who are killed in the Cause of Allah. She might have repeated that ayah that night before drifting off to sleep. "Don't say those who are killed in the Cause of Allah are dead. No But they are alive even though you dont understand how."(2:154).

Be aware that the youth are the victims and not the initiators of the situation in which Somalia finds itself today.

    Salaam,

May be Iam too harsh on them, but in reality if we don't do something about this and change the trend for now in collective manner we will bear the consequences, of course they have nothing to do with clannish/tribal rubbish, sure it wasn't there fault coming here and having all this upheaval, but they becoming the hooded, new blacks in this country, the kids is been sucked into a gang and drug culture, and quickly they becoming couriers and drugs peddlers replacing the old community doing this sort of things.

In Bristol alone last year no single boy/girl used to sell drugs, now they are more than 30 kids selling the hardcore drugs in the middle of the town,in one single block in a street corner, the police and all drug agents knows that, it’s the Somali kids that becoming the drug kings and queens so quickly, recurited by west-indies and most of the community is so silent about this. the question beggs if not now, when?, and if not us who? will fix this problems or may be the best way is putting our heads in the sand, so it will go away soon.

  10.

This leads me to wonder what is wrong with our youth today? I believe many would say I am a dinosaur and that boys wearing ear rings and spending hours glued to the BET channel, listening to rap music or wearing over sized pants are "the in thing". But I ask myself: do those Pan Africanists and the founders of the Somali Youth League long time ago did not know what they were doing and as such it is necessary to be ashamed to be a Somali, and that boys wearing ear rings and watching the BET channel day in and day out is "Cool". I am sure BET will never teach you how to rebuild the country from the ashes of vicious clan wars or resuscitate the economy. Today the old Wake up Call is as important as it was 50 or 60 years ago.

    Salaam Global Nomads,

The problem with the Somali Youth in diaspora is The Role Models of the ex-drug dealers and criminals turn into Rappers and promoted by Giant corporations like music channels e.g MTV, Universal Music and Paramount playing as a role models for our naive and innocent youth, and turned them into gangsta yob, and little criminals selling drugs on the broad daylight in the major british cities, and they are the children who came from a good homes and decent families but they think this the way forward hip, sleek and chick

there prefect role models are the likes as Curtis Jackson aka 50 cent, Tyler, Snoop dog, Jay-Z.

there will be a time when Faraax in the mafarish will be like a saint, just wait and see how this kids behave and God knows what kinda of drugs they take. All what they like to say is WAG 1 (the west slang of hello), and Welcome to the future.

    Oh Blessed;

Another meel-ka-dac, hee hee bay leedayay, your little theory is bein disproved, true love never dies Eedo, any man who ecountered true love will tell ya,and iwas having a first hand experience, a man who is touched by true love never cheat his woman, memories of love never passes, they linger, guide and influence long after the source of stimulation has faded, there is nothing new in this.every person who has been moved by geninue love knows that it leaves enduring traces upon the human heart.the effect of the love endures because love is an spritual in nature, man cannot be stimulated to great emotional heights by love is a dead man. the bottom line is there is an old saying man's wife may either make him or break him, and the reason is may not clear but it alldepends how the woman/wife understanding how she would be receptive for his love and romance.

Man's greates motivating force after relegion was to please woman, from hunting days to nowadays, and take women out of their lives and all wealth would be useless, do a man who loved seriouly love only that woman who loved

  14. Salaaam Folks,

Hahahahahaha, Xiinow ka daaah, Sugaanta SOL laguu gu imanmaayo:

Sh. Nur you always intitiate the Ab-FAb topics, while Xiin got the killer instinct of Sugaan. But personally I love them all, our poets are a national treasure, I don’t dwell on the tribal parts of their poems, and that Cay and Af-lagaado butchery, mostly I like the Araar, the self-promotional staff, the Self- boasting, the theme of the gabay, universal truth and wisdom that they turned it into proverbs. This was all the essence of the literature, the extravaganza and impressive display of Sugaan in best format, who needs Byron, Milton and Shakespear when you got the bard of Burco -Salaan,Gaheir, Dhuux, Sayid of Nugal,Mirre, Bulxan, Qawdhan,T.Suldan etc .....

But all in all this guy said it all:

    Maansooy nin Kugu duul

    Nina maalin kugu dood

    Nina dhuuni kaa doon

    Nina derejo kaa dhigay

    Nina nabarka kugu damaq

    Nina dakharka kugu dhayey

    Nina doogta kugu kici

    Nina ololka kugu demi

    Nina nabada kugu didi

    Nina belada kugu dadab

    Nina dookha caashaqa

    Kaa dhigay daf loo tumo

    Oo ka doorkan joogiyo

    Dura gabayadii jiray

    Intuu heesta kugu daro

    Jacayl kugu dalaandali

    Marna darayamuus iyo

    Dhaclihi dunta ahaa

    Aduu kuu derays yahay

    Dumar kugu buraambure

    ---------Ibrahim Gadhle

May be we need anew thread called Sugaan Fiesta:

    Salaam

MashaAllah, Bro Nur, Classical, you not only a theologian but a grand sage culturally, good xiin; isn't he a graad on his on right!

Abdi Gaheir was not only genius poet but was having a wicked sense of humour, he once saw two of his buddies in a tea-house in Hargeisa, one hail from berbera and the other from Awdal, he was not expecting them this time at this place. He said in his gabay:

Orgomihii Xamaas iyo kii Awadal baa yimi

Ood lagama gooyaan maxa ehelu naar jooga.

May I leave this to Graad xiin to translate; or should i try:

    - xamaas is a small tuule next to berbera on your way from hargeisa.

    -Awdal the region - Zaylac

    - Orgome = beast in my own definition.

Though my fav poet is Salaan Carabby.they were all brilliant.

  16. Salaam,

Iran: will it be the next shooting Gallery? When the media brings the issue in intensity, and the talking heads of major News channel’s biased and skewed narration is in full swing, little heads in the white house and Tel-viv are looking where the bombs will land in the Muslim world, may be it's Iran this time cos they are tying to make nuclear technology they don’t have a right to make it on their own. Let the Saudis bank roll the cost as usual.
