  1. Geel-jire,

I can understand where your frustration is coming from, however Somalis in the U.K have to firstly acknowledge that we tend to keep ourselves to ourselves and locate in bundles(i.e Wembley, Ealing, Birmingham ect..) Secondly we are RARELY ever present in the media, compared to our indian counterparts and I find this is appauling, we simply haven't put ourselves on the map here in Britain. &thus the white man has come to the logical conclusion that we are an 'invisible group' a result of our absence from the British media and political spectrums.

Let us be realistic and bite the bullet there are already handful of Indian M.P's & if it is true that we have settled here since the early 1900's how can it be that there are no Somali M.P's ?? :( ??

It saddens me that I largely agree with the journalist..... however the sheer fact remains that we are Somalis and not an 'invisible community'...if not to anyone else to ourselves at least.

  2. 3

Your Life Path is one that emphasizes expression, sociability, and creativity as the lesson to be learned in this life.

You are among the entertainers of the world, bright, effervescent, sparkling people with very optimistic attitudes.

You possess the most exceptional creative skills: normally in the verbal realm, writing, speaking, acting, or similar endeavors.

The lesson to be learned with a 3 life path is that of achievement through expression.

The bright side of this path stresses harmony, beauty and pleasures; of sharing your creative talents with the world. Capturing your capability in creative self-expression is the highest level of attainment for this life path.

You are warm and friendly, a good conversationalist, social and open.

A good conversationalist both from the standpoint of being a delight to listen to, but even more importantly, one who has the ability to listen to others.

You are always a welcome addition to any social situation and know how to make others feel at home.

  3. I decided...

I wanted to live, I had to live, death was not an option, there's so much I haven't done and places I haven't been but most importantly I realised that this may well be a life and death situation and prepared myself for the worst, I knew I had to act quickly and thus speedily positioned myself on the floor and joined the eccentric rastapharian in melody, he seemed the lesser evil compared to the four goths at the door. By then he was joyously humming what I could make out to be; 'Jingle Bells, Batman smells, Robin layed an egg' panick swept over me and I immediately joined the one man show. At this the four figures at the door appeared dazzled, they soon formed a straight line, one beside the other, and began to perform the traditional Irish line dance. I did the best I could not to aggrivate them, I gave it my best singing voice, but by now the rastpharian was attempting the killer tune 'I will always love you' by Celine Dione and with a distinctive (one of a kind) west-indian accent it was by this I belive that the goths stopped their prancing and the ground beneath us shook...

  4. I don't read any magazines whatsoever unless you consider the T.V guide a magazine.

  5. Hibo the business jacket/long blazer doesn't look half bad with a dirac, so don't write off the idea so fast. Having said that, this look would work best you're reasonably tall, then the beautiful dirac is visible from waist downwards depending on the length of the jacket (i prefer the mid-length jacket as it covers everything). Be sure to wear the gabasar over the jacket to show it off along with the ilyaar underneath the gabasar, covering your head and neck. This way not one bit of your chest/stomach area will show. And another thing don't close the jacket, just bring the sides together and slighty lower the fold of the dirac on the neck for the dahab to make its appearance, if done properly this should cover your entire body, leaving you modest and beautiful at the same, you''ll have all the ladies sighing 'Oh my,i could have covered up and still looked elegeant'.

    I hope this helped.
