    I have always been "the dumper" and never "the dumpee." (Don't mean this arrogantly -- it just always seemed to work out that way).

     

     

    Well, it finally caught up with me one fine day. I was dating a girl and I thought she was "the one." We dated pretty intensely for about 3-4 months. At the time, it seemed like the perfect merger: the right background, shared interests, shared experiences, chemistry, etc.

     

    She called me one day on the phone (after attending a college reunion for a long weekend) and proceeded to tell me that she was "having doubts" and "had met someone interesting". "Hmmm...says I."

     

    Today she has two children with the guy she left me for -- they have been married for many years now (they went to college together and rekindled an old relationship over that reunion weekend.

     

    Bottom line: everything usually happens for a reason and works out for the best. I am in a very satisfying and rewarding long term relationship -- and she is happily married as well.

     

    If it is meant to be, it will happen. If not, it won't.

    Hey king man you really are blind! You are asking the advice of a woman! Dont you know females always back up each others game.

     

     

    To that blind dude Aka king : This is a very touchy issue!

    I suppose it depends on ones personal experiences & also how committed & intimate your feelings are for eachother that you are willing to give & take, sacrifice a little for the sake of your relationship. Sounds to me she wants to have her cake & eat it too, she wants the security of having a stable relationship but, at the same time she wants the feeling of freedom & independance. What's the go???? Who knows? I can't really say much 'cause I don't know the whole story or what ever but, like that song says

    "You don't know what you've got 'til it's gone!"
