  1. Nice choices - enjoyed reading them all - here are my select few Henry Van Dyke "Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity." Paul Tillich "The first duty of love - is to listen." Anais Nin "The risk it takes to remain tight inside the bud is more painful than the risk it takes to blossom." "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." Jacques Benigne Bossuel "The heart has reasons that reason does not understand." Goethe "Love is an ideal thing, marriage a real thing; a confusion of the real with the ideal never goes unpunished." Woodrow Wyatt "A man falls in love through his eyes, a woman through her ears." Plato "At the touch of love, everyone becomes a poet." Charles Dickens "Have a heart that never hardens, and a temper that never tires, and a touch that never hurts."
  2. Modesty Wasalaam Its alleged that he has committed suicide, but I disagree, no body - no proof - I think he is hidding in the US , not too far away from "the insane little dwarf Bush"
  3. I hope so too northerner, he needs to be protected - he is definitely gifted . this quote is from the genius himselve : 'We're going to drag the drunken junkie nose of Bush through Iraq's desert, him and his follower dog Blair...There are 26 million Saddams in Iraq"' here is another cracker "the insane little dwarf Bush" and his most famous quote "Bush is a very stupid man. The American people are not stupid, they are very clever. I can't understand how such clever people came to elect such a stupid president." Talk about getting people on his side
  4. The site below had me in laughter - check it out and i'm sure you will all love the Iraqi Information minister - he should be awarded for his war of words http://www.welovetheiraqiinformationminister.com/

    One Wish

If you were all given ONE single wish, what would you wish for ?... I'm quite interested in what creeps into your minds the quickest - do not dwell on it too long- list the first thing that comes into your mind.
  7. Mr M. Don't you think you were a touch too harsh on your comments . The Girl only asked for opinions regarding the topic at hand I'm sure she was not after being put on the spotlight like that. Anyway, coming back to the topic. I don't see the attraction in bad boys - they are not my kinda fellas. So my input is abit vague. I'll let the ladies who see these type of fellas exciting, explain to us what is it about them that makes them weak at kness? - i'm scratching my head and can't come up with anything - sorry bad boyz but you ain't my cup of tea .
  8. I don't think anything gets under my skin that much that I wanna go out and kill someone ... but I must say I can't stand cheaters - for both sexes - its the ultimate deception. Dishonesty! - say what U mean not what will get you out of trouble !... and to top it up - people with no self-respect - you gotta respect yourselve for others to respect you. I'm sure there are more - but for now thats my contribution.
  9. No need to clean him out - just let him loose is my way. After all, he needs to know he had the best and his greed did not allow him to appreciate it .... See the trick is my sisters, if your man wants wife #2 or 3, cut him loose, he obviously is too much for one and not enough for two...don't shed a tear, leave silent -making it apparent that you are looking out for number 1... . As far as cleaning him out - well thats not for me - I rather mentally challenge him
  10. Clown My brother, don't bother looking at the somali community as a whole to base your opinion, don't let them deter you from experiencing good things. We are all have our faults, therefore we should not use their failures to direct us one way or the other. I agree with you that our parents did not necessary fall in love to start a family but whether they admit it or not there is bound that keeps them together - could it be love? could be a duty imposed upon them? or the fear to leave? but trust me its far from lust. Clown do u know some people actually don't show it and that was common throughout the older generation - our parents & their parents...asnd therefore we did not see our parents show the love they have for each other. SO love might not be everyone's cup of tea - but for me its a necessity in a relationship.
  11. Clown You are talking about lust? lust is just that - the need to satisfy an arge. You mentioned no somali women knows about love - well try me - give me the 3rd degree - I'm not all about theory, lets just say i've been through it, still in it, and like a rollercaster enjoying the ride ... Hypocrite are most people - but in reality the believe and wanting the feeling of love and been loved is what everyone needs - including You Clown, so let you guards down and experience the wonderful feeling of love .. I love U Clown , love me back ***(kidding)... just playing - you have your views and i'm sure at some stage you will learn that life is not all about lust but much more rewarding feeling. back to the question, what would I do to prove the depth of my love? accept my mate for all he is, not wanting to change him, becuase in my eyes he is faultless. The same in return :-, )offcourse, unreturned love is not love its just wishful thinking . If he is worthy of my love I will show him the beauty of love which starts with unconditional love, respect, and all the other fancy words for acceptance & knowing how to appreciate what you have & desire .... Peace MissAlwaysLearning.
  12. What would complete my life : As its on everyone's list and a must in mine is to become a better muslimah - to seek the pleasure of Allah(S.W.T). Inshallah Personal goals, I achieved most of my set goals, except meeting my king - thats my next goals, so fellas clear the street i'm on hunting mode . I believe a completed goal opens up for a new one, therefore we will always be seeing wanting more - human nature!. I just gotta make sure I don't get too caught up in wanting more - I might get carried away in a lucractive lifesytle thats empty . 1luv.. MissAlwaysLearning **** Everything is possible as long as you have the drive *******
  13. Salaam All Sister, First of all someone who rejects you because of your disability is not worth a mention let alone your love. We are assuming that this is probably the reason why he has distant himselve away from you and i'm sure their could be other reasons for his disappearance. My advice to you is to forget about this guy, but I know thats probably not what you want to hear and no matter what we tell ourselves we all have a deep need to know someones intention - why did he leave like that? was it me? etc.... If you like you may ask him, but would he be telling you something different - for me action speaks louder than words, so look closely at what he is NOT saying rather than what he says. I hate to put a cloud on your hopes, but sister you have asked for an advice and I would not be true to you if I didn't not give you the same advice I would give myself. Be your worst Critic, and don't give your heart away to people who do not deserve it - Inshallah the one that deserves it will not put you in doubt - they will look after your heart and appreciate what you give. May Good things come your way Inshallah.
  14. Salaam It appears alot of my fellow nomads are 'in love' or heading that way - looking at your choices of songs that describe your lifes . For me, it has to be 'missing you' by aaliyah, right this moment that song is just right for me & also 'one in million' by aaliyah which goes something alone these lines : Verse1 'Baby you don't know, what you do to me Between me and you, I feel a chemistry I won't let no one, come and take your place 'Cause the love you give, it can't be replaced See noone else, can love me like you do That's why I want, to spend my life with you Wanna please you, in anyway I can I Wanna share my world, don't you understand... MissAlwaysLearning
  15. Someone mentioned that they have given up on their ideal man but is now thinking who would be a good Dad. Sister you have hitten the nail on the head. The sooner we realise that the person who will make the best Dad will also make the best husband. All the qualities a great dad posses is also the same qualities a good husband has. The term 'ideal' is merely there so we can define what we are looking for in our future partner. My ideal man - needs to a be a good man, striving to better himselve - through deen, through good character, and always looking for the best in anothers - can't stand man who sits there and talks about negativity all the time. He needs to have a postive outlook in life. As they say 'beauty is the eye of the beholder' for that i'm always honest with myself and never put restriction on his appearance. Its probably premature saying that now, but i'm sure my ideal man would be 'just right for me' & I 'ideal' for him. Stay focus all, peace. Miss Always Learning.
  16. Thanx for your replys. Che-Guevara - I'm a sister, so i think my fustration stemps from the fact that I don't like guys chasing, I prefer if they were real with me, and let me know exactly 'whats up' - you know the 50/50 relationship, you both give/take, take & give. But you are right, when the game playing is over -the truth eventually starts to come out. mis_Nasima the thing with these people who enjoy chasing and once they get what they want, they want it no more suggests they were not interested in the person in the first place - but were only interested in satisfying their own ego, which is a selfish act.
  17. Salaam all May I first of all say what a great input you all have been putting on this site. I've just signed up, but have spend few days reading some of the past posts, and its appears like a good forum. So heres a tumbs up from me . Now thats out of the way, let me come back to my topic. Why do somalis play this mind games when it comes to relationships? how can we make a relationship work when its built on dishonesty and child games?. Why do we even bother calling it a relationship and why not use the term thats more fitting a 'fling'? or something along those lines. If you stop for a moment and ask a somalian girl/boy, lady/man about what needs to be done to make a relationship work - I am sure they will come up with endless lists of how to play 'hard to get' - hard to get??? but my question is are you worth to keep? how can one play 'hard to get' when the other person has no idea what qualities one posses? I'm sure you all can see what my point is, we spend to much time playing cat & mouse that there is never enough time to develop the relationship. He spends few months chasing her, she spends few months ignoring the calls, the usual scenerio. You want something you grab it, no need to lose any face value, just be real. Say what you want, and what you expect, and let the rest flow. Stop reading between the lines and ask for clarifaction for whats not clear. Feel free to agree, disagree - its all good p.s I do apologise in advance if this topic has been covered before.
