  1. well when you are making rice, you can de-fat the stock by putting it in the fridge. The fat will rise to the top and you can scoop it out.
  2. I too am able to make different types of food. Unfortunately my husband will only eat Somali food. As for anjera....that took me forever to learn properly. if you've never made it before try using pancake mix first. That way you won't make a mistake. Use a pancake mix that you only need to add water.

Welcome Tammy! nice food and a neat website! Am I the only one that is confused with this post? What a nice welcome from you!! Anyways...I deleted my signature. Let me just explain to everyone what my intention is for posting a link to my blog. For starters, there are many young Somali ladies that are unable to make certain things. Also I am looking for comments and suggestions on how to improve certain dishes. I don't make any money from my blog.

  10. Yes I agree to an extent, but, any food can be made healthier. Just by limiting the oil and ghee will reduce the amount of fat.
  11. Assalamu alaikum my brothers and sisters, I would first like to thank blessed for inviting me. I created a blog that showcases traditional and modern Somali cuisine. I am a Canadian woman that has been married for 15 years to a Somali brother. We have 5 kids and 1 cat. Now that I have introduced myself, I'd like to invite everyone to check out my blog. I'd love to hear your comments and suggestions. Amina http://tammyssomalih ome.blogspot.com/
  12. I also find that this is a problem with ADD and ADHD. It took me years before my husband agreed to get my son tested. Even though he agreed I know he did it for me and not because he believes it is a real problem. No one knows our son has this. He'd rather people think our son is bad than for them to know that he needs meds.

If you look at research done in US and UK,you will see how the Chinese and Indian pupils excel, more then their counter parts. As for the Indian and Chinese parental involvement in the education of their children is very important. Expectation to sucessed is high too, hence the parents and children viewing Education as highly important and do their utter best to obtain that sucess.
