  1. Che, that is why I think the whole thing is just to entertain the idle hands and the idle minds of the Somalis...Seriously you want to tell me the respected president of Somalia couldn't appoint a commitee of respected Somalis to represent the nation? If you want to win a game at least get people with the Golden tongue!

It would have been a great travesty if STOIC's immeasurable integrity was compromised by this story. I was keeping a finger on the pulse.

Libax, I knew the truth was going to set me free and that is why I was wearing my self-confidence like a hazemart suit. Abtigis arresting accusations was nothing but a hasty one..Waax muu huubsaan saxiibkeen...

  3. Abtigis,

Glad it all worked out all good..Waar Niinyahoow Niin weeyn ohh reer leeh baan ahaay maarkaa Shekoyinkaa Qaar Waan iskaa ilaliyaa waa ceeb.Yes they were in Hargeisa last summer. They are good family and very close....Markaa Xaal Baan Rabaa Maanta..Ya Toll iaah....

  4. This was the year I become a father and Alhamdulilah that is all I could have asked from Allah..It was a blessing to have such a blessing from the man above. The only thing I can ask for now is if only I can be half the father my dad was to me..I hope I can be the the strongest, funniest, and toughest dad he looks up to in life! Before my son was born (and still do to some extent) I had difficulty of expressing my softer, nurturing sides, but learning to do so with my son had changed me completely! I am more patient and a good listener now than before!

  5. Eric Clapton had the “Bell Bottom Blues.”, the Rolling Stones had the “Stray Cat Blues.” and you are having SOL blues about your stories following to the new year lol . It is seeming reasonable that she might have not read anything here and you guys have probably have mutual FB friends..like I said before please do NOT mention the story on SOL and do not mention my city of residence and my sijuiness..That is way too easy to decode who I am and its not going to look good on both of us..As for now lets wait for the verdict...

  6. People do read SOL and that is why we have to be somewhat careful not to spill the beans. It only took my lizard brain few seconds to decode his story and I was gracious enough to warn him not to mention my name if he ever contacted the mutual friend. Niin weeyn oo dumaar kashekenyaa was not going to look good on both of us..I even forgot about the story till I saw my name on this thread..I think Abtigis has a secret admirer who wants to sweep him away from the mundane life of writting boring stories here in SOL

  7. You almost wrung all the fun possible out of my new year celebration..I almost thought Someone contacted Maury show and wanted a paternity test before the new year ball droped in the big apple.I didn't contact anyone Haji and like I told you it was not gonna look good on both of us if we raise that kind of talks with her or her family..Shekaatha maliintii halkaas baan kuxiiraay!

  8. Somalia will be stuupid to let this lady be representing them in these talks; a forlon attempt will it be to sell their side of the story! They say power is derived from position, expertise and having what others want, which in this case this lady has none..A tactical misstep will it be for President Hassan and one that can question his will and fortitude in uniting Somalia.A person who few months ago was playing for the other team will attract nothing, but depersonilization tactics from the group you are trying to pursued.Resolution occurs when one party realizes it can no longer pursue its aims and gives them up and I don't see that happening with Somaliland. We can safely predict this talk will bring nothing, but more talks in the future again and again....

  9. Tribalism running amuck in Somaliland and thanks to the current administration for opening a can of worm. That some clans around Somaliland are outraged and multitudes of them have gone out on a street rampage is yet another example of how Silanyo adminstration have misread the domestic affairs of the country! How come we never heard this sort of communities complaining during Riyale? ..

  10. I agree with Haatu here. There are more holes in Somaliland politics than in that proverbial Swiss cheese.Somaliland is today poisoned by irattionality of sub-clan politics in the service of narrow self-interest of few powerful men.. What we have witnessed over the last few months , which showed a dramatic display of sub-clan politics, suggest that Somaliland is NOT ready to part ways with Somalia permanently yet and if they do at this time they are in for a big chilling shock! In this respect the question of secession is entirely irrelevant until the public educates themselves on the downfall of sub-clan politics and a strong civic institutions separate from the clasp of any president is put in place.. Though it was in the offing long before this past election, but this sham election brought the weakness of Somaliland to the open and I will argue Somaliland is NOT ready yet.I hate to admit it, but the truth never kills anyone!

  11. I didn't even read past Qudhmiye comment. My Odweyne cousins are mad and not balanced in their reporting that's why I at least have some respect for Hadhwanaagnews in bringing both sides of the story...Before getting all worked up I think if HY's are bent on defeating Silanyo on this routine, known and explicitly accepted sub-clan politics of Somaliland then they have a chance in the coming presidential election with their Wadani party! They are the majority in population according to my understanding...

  12. Looking good there back when I knew Garissa was a dusty town with few miles tarmac road..Sign of time I guess..I used to visit my uncle who lived in Province neighborhood back then...He was district education officer

  13. Che,

Your idea makes intuitive sense.I guess clan politics is both deep and inescapable problem that all Somalis will have to face for a very long time. These are grim prospects that raises the question how long will it take all Somalis to realize the downfall of clan politics. To point these strange turn of event in Somaliland is not to say that they will not exist or even pursue that elusive prey for recognition, but just to point out their weakness.

  14. Che, I'm really surprised. I must have been sapping my energy on people hell-bent on Sub-clan politics.I always thought they had some decency for national pride and patriotism for their collective effort , but they ended up being the worst of bed-wetting Somalis. Today Silanyo is the president, but tomorrow when a HY becomes the president the same finger pointing will continue so is the bleaker picture!I guess I should have just let my mind unravel the complexity of the Somali clan politics instead of blocking it out and thinking they have decency to hide it....

  15. ^ Democracy and Somalis don't mix.If I was a Puntlander I'll have warned them to take it Slowly! It is pity to see what is happening in Somaliland.I thought there was glimpse of hope in Somaliland and them throwing out the bad waters of Somalia was going to bring them a different outlook of life and governance, but they are NOT any different than South Somalia. Clan politics have really proliferated and it is really disappointing! Clan has a monumental importance in Somaliland. My support of seeing them different has quickly waned and I bet you any person that tells me how wonderful country they have called Somaliland will get some reality check!

Watch how Jac, Norf and others spin this. They see nothing wrong with the way this Admin has been governing.

I doubt they are that blind to see the sham sub-clan election that took place.Unlike your suspicion of them I feel like they are not blinding themselves to the killings and floodgate sub-clan politics opened by this administration. I'm afraid Somaliland is in for lots of trouble and it is far from being ready for an election free from sub-clan politics.

It is only fair to mention that Hersi responded to Ilkajir on the same site denying any contacts with the guy.Someone is lying and I honestly don't know who is lying!

  17. You know that song was not promoting any such errant nonsense you normally see in opposition Somali songs. He was simply highlighting the unfortunate mistakes of the past few months with maybe two lines that were direct insult to the president.Everyday people called the preside of the United states names and life goes on as usual. The tactical blames of any shortcoming in any government usually falls on the man on the top and his government which has grievously failed in its topmost duty to foresee the danger of allowing every sub-clan form its own political parties.

We just can't blindly defend the president and his administration. They were short on many issues and the way they handled this past election. The two video are not even on the same issue.Yes he did attend a Somaliweyn party, but also he was not distancing himself from Somalilad. If anything the videos you posted prompt an observation of a man disappointed with his Somali people's direction.I doubt his song is poisoning the political debate and if anything it is simply Shaming the politicians that contributed to this dangerous directions of the country! Whatever little I read about this man his sub-clan is even in great support of Kulmiye and they have a big stake at Silanyo Succeeding, so I even doubt he is driven by sub-clan politics.
