How helpful is this site to students?

Students of many fields of study exchange ideas relating to their particular subjects. During this priod of exchange, they get to know each and at times, lifetime friendships/relationships are born. I am not looking for that relationship but would like see more of a student to student support.

For instance, there might be some of you out there that are struggling or have been struggling with an assignment/s which other nomads find really easy and are in a position to offer their expertise. How helpful is this place in this regard?
