“Eritrean: the ONLY government supporting jihadists”

Sharif Ahmed, Aferwarki & Xasan Dahir..

On Wednesday, the Somali Prime Minister stated that the Eritrean government is the only government supporting the extremists in southern Somalia and said that none of the governments of other suspected nations are involved at all.

Various U.N. documents, revealed during the last few weeks, indicated that numerous nations were supporting the U.I.C. & the jihadists based in Mogadishu. However the documents never made it clear whether or not the governments of those nations supported the jihadists directly or if the supporters were merely splinter groups from those different nations.

Speaking to hundreds of ethnic Somali-Ethiopians in Addis Ababa, the Prime Minister of the Somalia transitional federal government, Ali Mohhamed Gedi clarified that the sources of weapons and ammunitions might have been contributed by various militants & Al-Qaeda divisions around the Arab world, but he said none of the Arab governments were involved in the arming of the jihadists. He said, but “Eritrea is fully engaged as a government; sending troops, weapons and ammunition in order to support the UIC and their allies.”

Most people would perhaps disagree with the PM's claim; especially knowing the joint military efforts & plans of the Eritrean and Libyan government, and would merely call it a diplomatic statement by the Prime Minister. However for others who know the Eritrean government, this is Déjà vu once again. The Eritrean government, naturally named the “African rogue state,” would not disappoint such tagging by its neighbors. It has already started a war with Ethiopia in 1998 by bombing classrooms full of Ethiopian children and it has brought more anarchy than freedom to its citizens. It has also been financing various rebels like OLF, ONLF and even in East Sudan; most likely contributing more salt to the wounds of Darfar citizens.

Though the Meles Zenawi government has brought a shaky foundation for democracy in Ethiopia, his policy towards Eritrea might leave a big red mark on his legacy. Almost no one supported the “independence” of Eritrea. Even though the decision on EPRDF’s part to end the 20 plus years of civil war with Eritrea is reasonable, most believe EPRDF let go of Eritrea while leaving Ethiopia with nothing in return. No ports, thus no navy, absolutely nothing but a landlocked nation. Of course no one expected that the Eritrean government would be this awful. This might be a reason why some anticipated compromises would have been followed up after their secession. But the Eritrean government is in a different galaxy when the words “compromise” & “dialogue” are mentioned.

These words are not in its vocabulary at all. Yet the Eritrean government’s woes don’t even stop there. In the 21st century, at least one private media and at least one attempt at a national multi-party election would have been enough to give a slight sanction, bits of life, for the Eritrean government’s survival. But none of these have occurred in more than a decade and the end of the Eritrean misery is coming very soon.

The irony to all of this is the “fake Christian” regime of Eritrea has harassed many Muslim Eritreans which is the main reason why the Eritrean Islamic Movement’s struggle against the Eritrean government is growing. Most of the Muslims in Eritrea were used threated like a human shield and conscripted forcefully into the Eritrean army, only to be thrown away like trash later on. The government’s abuse did not stop there, for it has tortured, imprisoned and killed hundreds for Protestant Christians in Eritrea. Many Eritrean protestants continue to come back to Ethiopia as refugees. It seems like their leader, Isaias Afewerki, has successfully faked his “transformation” into a moderate, democratic leader that western nations were expecting when they basically signed Eritrea free from Ethiopia without the will of Ethiopians. Maybe helping jihadists kill innocent Somalis and Ethiopians was the prescription Isaias Afewerki’s sick mind came up with to cure his dictatorship and murder of Muslim intellectuals and protestant Christians in Eritrea. His true identity never was exposed as much as it did the last three weeks after randomly accusing Western nations of “imperialism,” another catchphrase he might have learned from his Libyan friends, his evil twin Hugo Chaves and that bizarre Mathaba.net website that has been spreading propaganda since November.

One thing is for sure, if Meles Zenawi can’t do it now, our patriotic opposition party leaders will soon take care of business and take back the whole of Eritrea unless the government behaves nicely. Eritrean government should never make a mistake by believing that Ethiopians trust it; despite the OLF and confused CUD international fiasco still in the dying AFD. For most of Ethiopia, Eritrea will have two choices. Either an authentic, democratic & friendly Eritrean government overthrows the Afewerki dictatorship and gives back Ethiopia her Assab port and her Afar region; or Ethiopians will forcefully take back the whole of Eritrea. No pointing fingers on the United States and Europe here, but if patriotic Ethiopians want to take back their own Eritrean land, as Meles Zenawi said, Ethiopians won’t need a green, yellow or red light from U.S., EU or anyone. The fact that Afewerki is supporting jihadists against Ethiopians was probably his ultimate mistake.

Its amazing to what length dictators go when about to collapse.

The Eritrean dictator has written an article that was manifesto of his organization that reads like it was written by a crusader.

One visit to awate.com can show how he treats moslems in eritrea.

He seems to have finished his services with the US now or he is playing games still under CIA as he did before in you shall make wars by deception.

This is perfect example why Hassan Tahir is never going to be credible in anything with the somali ethiopians. Thats why he is called an imposter.
