  1. ^^United dont have to convince nobody.. we are having defending problems due to Rio being injured and i know we'll have to on top form to beat porto in the return leg.. dont forget United have played more games then any team in the europe and have used 32 players this season so let the haters do their thing so sit back and enjoy the run-in..
  2. boy.. what can i say.. when i saw the back four for united i knew we would let goals so our attack had to be spot on but without rooney, berbatov and scholes i thought we could just win it somehow with the likes of ronaldo, giggs and tevez.. The boy wonder got me jumping up and down like madman..lool.. its hotting up and i feeling this ride..
  3. ^^i swear Lennon has been linked to liverpool this season.. is that true saxib??
  4. its nice to see the league so tight and liverpool are starting to fight for it now.. its good to see them finally mount a serious challenge and may the best team win.. personally. i think Arshavin is fantastic player who has shown moments of quality and hasnt reached top gear yet so wait and see lads..

  7. lol.. whats up guys.. sorry to dash your hopes but its not gonna happen.. fulham picking up points is laughable.. sometimes i wonder what league table you guys look at when you say "we're back in there".. four points and a game in hand is a good lead and i dont see that slipping anytime soon..

  9. lol.. congradulations to liverpool once again.. the barging rights are yours til next season but thats as far it goes.. we dont do draw unlike some teams but i tell you now its gonna get serious and i dont see any teams getting anymore points of us.. including arsenal and man city which are both at home..
  10. well, well.. if i'll be dammed.. liverpool played very well and gerrard torries show was classic.. i was impressed with those two by far.. but i'm not fazed one bit.. that 18th title is coming to old trafford even if we lose two more games.. this just makes the run-in more exciting and heartbreaking for some.. those stats dont lie and this defeat could be a blessing in disguise..
  11. i would love to just watch the game at anfield as a neutral and feel the atmostphare.. good luck liverpool, because i would love nothing other then a Man Utd vs Liverpool final.. yes, another all english final would do me nicely..

  17. Date: Sunday 1st March Venue: Wembley Stadium, London Referee: Chris Foy (Merseyside) Assistant Referees: Peter Kirkup (Northamptonshire), Andy Butler (Lancashire) 4th Official: Andre Marriner (West Midlands) The 49th Carling Cup Final sees Sir Alex Ferguson once again go head to head with his good friend Harry Redknapp in a cup competition. While United have already eliminated Redknapp’s side from this year’s FA Cup, Harry only has to look back to last season at Portsmouth when, having eliminated United from the competition, he held the cup at Wembley and became an instant hero on the south coast. Beat his old foe next week and Harry will be carrying silverware around Wembley for the 2nd successive year. With both managers struggling with a hugely congested fixture schedule they will nevertheless want to win this one and bag the first major domestic trophy of the season. The game has an added edge for both teams. As the defending champions Spurs will want to retain the trophy which could add some gloss to an otherwise trying season. For United it will be the first shot at bagging the much hyped ‘quadruple’ and Sir Alex will not want to fail at the first hurdle. History While the Carling Cup lost some of its glamour in the earlier part of this decade it now seems to have firmly re-established itself as a trophy worth winning. There was much criticism of the ‘bigger’ teams when they went through a phase of playing their 2nd string in this competition, a sign that they considered it more of a nuisance in the calendar than anything else. In the last 5 years, however, of the 10 finalists involved (including this year) all but 3 (Spurs twice and Wigan) have been ‘Top 4’ teams. That’s not to say that a good number of reserves and youngsters are not still on show from the ‘big’ teams but the balance has been better and results have shown that. Starting in 1961, the League Cup has gone through many format changes as well as name changes driven by sponsorship. For a brief but thorough history of the competition click here. United and Spurs have both been in the final 6 times, Spurs coming-off better with 4 wins to United’s 2.
