Oh, and being brough back into absolute turmoil and distruction by re-joining somalia is better is it. Somaliland would have so much more to loose by going into another union with a chaotic and destroyed somalia then it would by striking an alliance with the US.

I mean dont get me wrong i hate the friggin yanks and their 'Holier then thou attitude',

but help from any stable state would certainly be welcome for the poor and struggling people of Somaliland. and international recognition is an important avenue through which such support can be gained.

    Peace

  2. Richards is not yet rated by most so i dont you can call him overrated North,

but i rate because he is still very young and at an early age he is showing pace, strength, versatility, heading ability and grit/determination. he has a lot to work on but i think he will turn in to a fine defender

  3. BOB,

Finally we have something to agree on in that I Love Africa too

But now id like to go back to another thing that i dont with agree with you on :D:D

I think Ivory Coast do have the best side but i think home advanatage counts for a lot in the African Nations Cup. Ghana have good support at home and have a talented squad (bar a striker) that is capable of beating everyone.

Ivory Coast v Mali is a great game and am looking forward to seing Drogba v Kanoute in the top scorers battle as welll

    Peace

  4. I agree with you Bob, i think its a magnificent tournament, and I cant wait for it to start.

When it comes to Ghana and Ivory Coast, id prefer it if they both got knocked out in the first round so that we can have Essien, Drogba and Kalou back.

But if you simply asked me who think will win, id have to say Ghana at the Moment.

  5. Bob,

i can understand your preference, but for me a defender that gets job done is welcome no matter how he does. plus Carragher even though he is tough tackler, is very disciplined and hardly ever gets sent of so i dont think he is reckless at all.

Ferdinand is overrated for me. He is a good defender but he can be shown up by the most average strikers out their. I remember Hasselbaink when he was fat and on his last legs at Middlesborough still completely bamboozling him.

    If you look at the Premiership for me the best defenders are, in no particular order;

    Terry

    Gallas

    Toure

    Carvalho

    Carragher

    Vidic

    Richards

  6. BOB,

You are right about Reyes he did score an own goal against middlesborough i think that was in the cup match.

About Carragher, i think he had a bad game and he was still a youngster but i think he has grown into a really good defender. He is more gutsy then technical but that doesnt matter, what matters are the results. and last year Liverpool kept a lot of Clean sheets because of Carragher gutsy defending.

  7. Skipper,

that wasnt the FA Cup but the carling cup or worthington cup as it was known then.

Northener is right in tha everton did win the FA Cup in 1994 but in those they were in the Big 4 as it stood then with Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd.

  8. Oddball,, that is the true but the nigerians do have some genuine quality in Mikel, Yakubu, Kanu et al. I hope Mali does do well with brother Kanoute but dont see much chance of that happening.

I'd tip the Ivory Coast team not only because they have the best striker in the world at this moment but because they have an all round strong team. Have a look at what their team could look like

    Goal Keeper: Boubacar Barry

Defence: Eboue, Meite, (Bolton) Kolo Toure, Boka

Midfield: Zokora , Yahya Toure, Romaric

    Attack: Arouna Kone, Drogba, Kalou

That is a very good side that could beat a lot of European sides

  9. ''Somalia

The situation in Somalia looks very dismal with almost daily clashes between Ethiopian troops and insurgents which has produced several thousand dead in Mogadishu and many more displaced people. Much of the south has descended deeper into anarchy. Even Puntland, the home region of the ailing elderly “President” of Somalia, Abdillahi Yusuf, is suffering from an upsurge in the frequency of piracy, kidnappings and various acts of lawlessness.''

Ofcourse the TFG cheerleader squad lead by Dukey would let us to believe that all is rosey and resembling a somali paradise :D
