I'm not qabyaalad - I don't support Madobe as a person but I do support Jubbaland and Khatumo and even Somaliland's independence ( as long as they let go of Khatumo/Makhir)
HAG is not like the other groups because they have a bigger responsibility. If they fail the country fails and if they succeed the country succeeds. Last twenty years was on them. If they stopped fighting in the capital the rest would've followed. Even today if Hassan stopped being tribalist the others would've followed. HAG will always have the upper hand and therefore more responsibilities as long as Mogadishu remains the capital.

Because the Eritreans had nowhere to go - it was stand or get slaughtered. OG's however had a home in Xamar all the way to Kismayo and even Garissa.
If there was no Somalia - and OG was next to the sea - the same would've probably happened.

I never liked the "give everyone a free day from work/school so they can salute the president" it helps create dictators by making them feel like kings and is very 3 world-ish.

Then again look at Eritrea today - one of the worst dictatorships on the planet -- I mean you need to pay tax whilst living abroad and you need government permission to buy a phone.
There are many Eritrean refugees filling camps in Eastern Sudan - Eritreans dying in Libya and Eritreans being cut up and their organs sold in Sinai/Egypt. So they went from bad to worse. Not really an improvement.

First of all the Eritreans fought while the Habesha Ethiopian groups fought as well. So the falling government had two fights to battle. Oromos and Afars can't be taken seriously, the Afars are desert people that don't fight and the Oromos are peasants. They are by far the largest group in Ethiopia and could easily take over. The funny thing is I actually support the independence of Somaliland - as long as they let go of the Makhir/Khatumo lands.
