    I watched that ages ago, I recall something about the NHS subsidizing loony docs to help cancer patients, might be wrong.

    Wonder if there are any Somali physicists at CERN, now that would be impressive. They could explain it all in Somali,

    An impartial piece of writing on Mohamed and muslims flap about like a gaggle of blithering geese in hot soup only to dismiss the works five minutes later citing some Hadith stating not everyone is safe from the Devils far reaching appendages to see Mohamed's light/truth/nonsense.

    As soon as the same author concedes that yes he did manage to achieve something or the other, say convince a bunch of people he wasn't joking, cue the frightfully silly Arabic phrases.

     

    If you familiarized yourself with the works of Voltaire, you wouldn't be so quick to rely on him to substantiate your beliefs.

    Here's a fine paragraph on his views on Islam, that he later cited Christianity as a far greater evil doesn't make this statement any less true.

    Haven't visited a forum in years so excuse my lack of posting etiquette if any. I've hit a major snag and I'm hoping I can benefit from your input ladies and gentlemen!

     

    There's a fine line between vindictiveness and psychosis, I've come across a few people who I've never been sure which category they fall under. Recently I've had the misfortune of living with one who I think could benefit from a straitjacket and a bucketful of medication, problem is everyone around her seem to be enabling her bat-sh*t crazy a** to continue being the way she is.

    Her husband has been reduced to a shadow of his former self and yet aside from occasionally threatening to leave, he does nothing. Just listens to her moan and whine and b.i.t.c.h about everything and everyone constantly, especially his mother! He talks to me whenever she isn't around but doesn't dare when she is :-/

     

    Aside from having delusions of grandeur and always playing the victim no matter how many people she hurts, she lies religiously and unashamedly. She talks to you only if it's in her best interest (mostly when she's seeking pity) every morning we go through a ridiculous ritual of my saying some sort of greeting and her waiting 20 seconds or so before she either grunts or most often than not, silence. If she's not having a confrontation with someone it's probably because she's asleep and dreaming one up.

     

    Through a series of bad moves I've managed to end up living with her for three months and I've gone from not smoking having given up years ago, to a pack a day. I'm leaving in a week and contemplating never talking to her again but perhaps all the sanka taag and huruufs and the qeylo I've been getting is a cry for help? Surely no one can love so much drama, she must be mad

     

    The reason for this rant is to know if anyone else has experienced serious shaqabadon? Not your run-of-the-mill Somali girl drama but serious evil in human form. Do they need a psychiatrist? Or are they simply getting their kicks from making life hell for people? If so isn't that a sign of mental instability?

    I don't think that point is irrelevant, it's one point you should address. If you were born to white Catholics in Texas you would be extolling the praises of Jesus and not Allah, chew on that. (It's worth repeating you see). Unless of course you're stating that the All Knowing All Loving picked you personally because you're special...which will open up a whole 'nother can of worms. I can see it now, 'if that is the case then don't speak of your belief as a personal choice...' to which you respond, 'that too is irrelevant, Allah is great, momma said so, atheist are stoopid nya nya nya..'

     

    Dawkins didn't make me an atheist, Muhammed and all the other cowboys before him (mythical or not) did...

    You're missing a lot. A whole lot. In fact you wont believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big the information you're missing actually is.

     

    I find it disturbing that you and Ibtisam don't seem to register the fact that if you weren't born to Somali parent's but say to Randeep and Hetal down the road you would be singing the praises of Shiva, Brahma, Ganesha, Ram, Indra, Sita, Vishnu, Lakshmi and The Sacred Cow. I know most of these names because I've a co-worker who tells me with the utmost conviction that his religion is great, his God's are powerful and his muslim neighbours have got it stupendously wrong.

     

    The overall argument Dawkins is making in the book is pretty well summed up in this quote,

    Dear thread starter, my heart goes out to you. Women being the vile, semi-human, playmates of ye all powerfull phallicially-blessed God's representatives on earth, just don't get IT.

     

    IT being that they are tilths unto you (and well quite frankly little else) and that you cannot put your thing into just any opening..

     

    Women, God loves phallus ergo you ought to too, but only if it's attached to the man who owns you (note however that your father's proprietary rights are only temporary hence rule doesn't apply to him).

     

    Lying is simply wrong, however since sex can be quite brilliant and there are very few enjoyments in life especially if you're a woman, AND you really cannot confess your sins afterwards...what the heck go for it.

    Guerilla, I cannot side with one priest over another simply because I do not share the same faith nor values with them. What you think about the ins and outs of something you have rejected is not going to help, as far as you are concerned they are both lost and misguided soo maaha.

     

    I didn't call anyone lost or misguided, I happen to share a different outlook on life. That doesn't preclude me from saying anything I like on any topic including this one.
