    Haha. The U.K are a ruthless country and I know because I spent 30 years living there. I wish reer koonfureedka were good honest god fearing people because Somalia would have been a safe country today and I would not be living in limbo.

    Cigaal and other SYL leaders were persistent my old man to chair the shir since he was the 'legitimate' leader of the last elected government. My father reluctantly chaired the shir. Alas Maxamed Abshir and co. immediately nominated Cali Mahdi since he claimed to be the one who was funding USC and used to be SYL xildhibaan back in1960s. He was also part of The Manifesto group that issued that famous Baaq.

    Cigaal didn't like this haste arrangement, but his group was minority. Sidaas Cali Mahdina loogu caleemosaaray. My old man didn't really care, declined any position they offered and since he just wanted to catch the soonest flight to Xamar, he did what the majority at the shir wanted.

    Remember, this shir did not have jabhado leaders present since they were not invited. Those who crowned Cali Mahdi badly miscalculated, assuming jabhadaha hubka dhigi doonaan. They didn't, especially Caydiid who didn't personally like and distrusted the old elites from SYL signatures of Manifesto. In fact maanifeesto became a derogatory word in Caydiid's Xamar in 1991-92. Any opponent of his were declared 'waa maanifeesto.'

    Cigaal also went back to Hargeysa as a pissed off politician. That 'pissed off' is what was the primarily fuel of declaring secessionism. It was never a forethought idea, just another idea stemming from xanaaq siyaasadeed. They thought they can bargain for a bigger pie of any future government.

    The rest is history.

    I have heard what you typed a 100 times before so it is not news to me. What I said about Aideed being backstabbed is true. In Somalia the man who holds the gun has a voice too, your clan should have been mindful of this fact. As for the SNM they achieved their objectives by removing the Kacaan government from the north. They were waiting for some sane politicians to emerge in Mogadishu so a deal could be worked out. Like I said Somalis are cursed by Allah.

    Aideed was the ally for SNM and they were waiting for him to be president so they could work out an agreement. Aideed got betrayed by his own clan and the capital descended into civil war which I think the SNM were hoping for. So when they did declare independence the international community would buy our story and let Somaliland join the U.N. You are right, SNM didn't think things through and tend to serve their own selfish interests. We are cursed by Allah and we all know this.

    Our mistake as Somalilanders is that we never had the intention of taking over the whole of Somalia. The SNM should have had the same mentality as the TPLF and stormed the capital taken over the city and then made sure the Somali nation understand who is in charge. The SSDF/SPM were in no position to stop us and as for USC we could have dealt with them the same way we dealt with Afweyne's army.

    Such a missed opportunity to take full control of Somalia now we have to contend with a never ending civil war. Sometimes you just have to risk it all and take power.

    Galbeedi you are partially right, but the SNM were formed because Barre would not leave power (like your typical Somali asshole) no different than the others. He had 11 years rule (1969-1980) to make Somalia better but he choose to only build Mogadishu which made other Somali regions angry. On top of that he started collective punishment of northern clan businesses. Yes, Somalia has had no government since 1991 because there is no more the Somali nation...the greatest enemy of Somalia is other Somalis..... look at assholes like BAALA XOOFTO or that dumb tribalist idiot with the white man avatar Xaaji Xunjuf. Lets not forget the emotional southerners who get triggered by constructive criticism. LOL Somalis are a lost course.... time to move on.

    I am in Berbera and I might return back to the U.K soon since the civil society in Somaliland is nonexistent.

    Once this ceasefire no longer holds and the combined terror and anti peace elements repeatedly break it, that will give the Green light to Somaliland Army to carry its National Duty. 

    The army has more than enough ammunition to carry it for months on end. Doesn't need anything from anyone. 

    If you are so passionate about war why don't you fly back from your comfortable home in the UK and fight the good fight? I am here in Berbera city so I know the poverty and hardship the people experience. The situation is far from over...but please give us your false bravado to keep our spirits up. 😔

    You really are eating up the western propaganda machine aren't you. Russia has faced some setbacks in this war which has been less than a year. Russia is committed to a long term war with Ukraine and will not accept any face saving measures that do not include Ukraine not being primetted into NATO. All Russia wants to do is make sure Ukraine cannot join NATO and USA starts putting missile defense systems on its border...no way Putin is going to allow that.

    Russia job is to keep the war going and wear down the Ukrainians until THEY are ready to negotiate with Russia which will include THEM accepting to terms Russia wants. No amount of "advance" equipment is going to save Ukraine from this reality. After all we are not dealing with low I.Q Somalis who fight over pointless things here. Russia is a fully industrial power with a much higher I.Q than our Somali politicians...who are beyond worthless.

    You are very emotional when it comes to the success of Somaliland and why state building has worked for the people in the north. You cannot understand the reality of why the south is in such turmoil so you dream up a boogeyman to divert attention away from the core issue. Somalia has no state building, Somalia has no effective government that controls its borders. Who fault is this? Somaliland? The people in the south welcome terrorism and clan hatred with open arms which is the core reason they have never been able to sit down and workout a way to live together peacefully but Somaliland has; which is why you and the south wish Somaliland would crumble. So to ease your minds of how foolish you have been for the last 32 years.

    True. But the real nastiness usually happens within families and not across clan lines. The hate you see online between the various clans and subclans is something new due to social media. Somalis are generally rude and very opinionated people.

    As usual the cowards of Puntland and Somalia have made statements that are utterly false and without facts. The emotional bunker "government" of Somalia needs to fix its eyes on her own problems instead of looking towards Somaliland a free government that works for its people. Laascaanood violence is nothing more than two sub clans of the Sool clan fighting over resources (local police are also Dhul) and not Isaaq vs Sool clan as some idiots have suggested.

    This is very true. They want to make this a clan issue when the town of Laascaanood is run by the Dhulb*hante including the local police. Somalia cannot comprehend a multi-clan society functioning as a peaceful nation state.
