  1. Somalis do have prominent culture, but it is another case that we chose not to adhere to it.

The Somali diaspora suffer merely from a chronic case of assimilation.Regardless of place, we try to catch up with the new enviroment, we are thrown into ,so much that we become detached from our roots.

Personal view: There are conditions that are favourable to preserving culture/identity,and one of utmost importance is an enviroment that compliments and promotes that culture.Had we not not left home I dont think we would be having this discussion now.

  2. Hell freaking no.........Dayniile,again,has Yeey-haters toing the line.

I am more than convinced the man is demon(suldaankeyga buu dilay in broad day light). He needs us not to taint his image even more.I am also convinced that, he would resort to any means to get things done ,even if it involves having his Bari brethren slaughtered. But I am not convinced that he is disposed to seek revenge on cabudwaq folks or galgaduud folks for that matter. For what purpose, you are not an abstacle to his presidency.

As for Dayniile, spurs no'ing but controversy which we'all feed off.

  3. Hell freaking no!Its not all that bad.........

Keep your head up Hibo, been there and done some hard time in Karachi.Pakistanis are nice sweet folks, yes some are goofy and ignorant ,but overall they mean no harm.

    quick advice:

-"mee muslimaan hoo" wil save u alot of trouble.

    -visit Karachi,its a lil nicer.

Holla at ur boi if u need some help,we'll set u straight.

mee karachi ka rehnee waala hoo, bakaa muhaajir......eek fiisad %.

    achaa jii,sabkoo salaam karoo.

    pakistan sindaa baad!

  4. Personally ,I find the whole gig amusing.

We seem to be on a vicious circle that never breaks.

    Jamutu,

So freaking what if PL expelled him ?

Puntland will unconditionally expel anyone it deems uncongenial to the interest of the state/province without having to appease anyone. So would've done any other region of the country for that matter.I think he is mighty blessed for them to have put him on plane, considering the status quo.

And stop calling the place pukeland, how would u have liked if anyone to call your domicile names, even if you had one.

Bottomline , address your concerns without resorting to shenanigan.

  5. it reads as "run" as in "truth" in somali,on the otherhand it reads as "run" as in "RUNNING"......you are either about to offer something to rejoice or have us run for our dear lives.

on a serious note,I find Nur,and others on this forum, sincere and reshreshingly insightful. And, if this invitation is coming from Nur,then I'll commit to it.

  6. oo maxaa ku jaban haddii uu nin reer waqooyi uu wareysto A/y.miyaan su'aalo la is weydiin karin ?

there are 24 parliament members oo reer waqooyi ah that would gladly sit and hold conversation with A/Y,how is this any different? or is obedience to Riyaale regime a prerequisite for being reer waqooyi ?

  7. Somali reality is based on clan, and there is no escape to that in the near future.

let me put it this way,Somaliland will sustain itself as long as the rest of the country sustains itself and vice versa, hence two inseparable entities.

what needs to go is the seccesionist ideologs that run Somaliland.

  8. Oda,

and what are we to make of this sick analogy, if it isnt reflection of hate, contempt and loathe.

Stick to the point, and rebut with some sense.

Leave Garowe out of this , or any other city the topic does not pertain to, for that matter.

  9. After watching HOTEL RWANDA ,and reading bit into the country's history, particularly the events that followed the genocide I had become a firm believer in restoring peace by force.

Even though the situations are not carbon copies,I am hoping A/Y would, given amble time, follow the steps of Paul Kagama and restore peace in Mogadishu and then pave the way for things such as democracy and such.

At these unfortunate times we need unforgiving leadership that will restore security and stability at any cost and by any means.

As for Intellectuals, they are too nice, maybe little weak, more concerned with self-preservation and would not take the risk that A/Y might be willing to take.
