Italians actually urbanized large parts of Southern Somalia by building roads, dams, schools, towns, agricultural settlements etc.

 

Just imagine if the Italians had stayed beyond the Second World War, Somalia would have become a First World country by now.

Somalia should follow the Swiss political model and become a confederacy. A federal republic divided into separate self-governing provinces where there is only one official language*. The federal flag should also be changed, the background colour from light blue to dark blue.

* = That one official language will of course be Somali, written in the Latin script. English and Italian language lessons should be mandatory for primary and secondary school children.

Somalis must accept that they are 'new' immigrants. They must work harder to integrate and stop milking the welfare system. Hasidic Jews, Arabs and Chinese etcetera manage without these policies, so should Somalis.

A gang of Muslim girls who repeatedly kicked a young woman in the head walked free from court after a judge heard they were 'not used to being drunk' because of their religion.

The group screamed '**** *** ***** ****' while kicks raining in on 22-year-old Rhea Page as she lay motionless on the ground, the court heard.

The attackers - three sisters and their cousin - were told by a judge that normally they would have been sent to jail.

However, he handed the girls - all Somalian Muslims - suspended sentences after hearing that they were not used to alcohol because their religion does not allow it.

Vestergaard had decided to ban all Somalis after he said a gathering of 900 Somalis celebrating an Islamic holiday became so rambunctious that it scared away other guests.

Should Somali education authorities make chess compulsory in classes? It a fairly inexpensive sport that 'breeds character' and it is a fairly prestigious sport. Somalia could actually become an important nation if it produces top chess players.
